Congratulations to Pauline Withey.
Pauline has phoned us to say that she has just won the AEBBA ladies singles title.
Seven ladies played in an all play all competition and Pauline won 10 legs out of 12.
Well done!!!!

Pauline has sent me an email and asked me to say a big thank you to Dave & Sam for organizing and running the day so smoothly, also (as Chris has kindly mentioned) to Phil & Dave T on setting up a lovely set of tables and not forgetting all those that marked the ladies matches, Pauline said that considering there were not many there yesterday they still didn’t have to wait for markers.
Pauline is “over the moon” at winning this for the 3rd time and says she can’t stop smiling at work today, especially after having to play so many top and distinguished lady players to win it.
PS Pauline now says that she’s unsure on how may legs she won on the day, as there may have been 3 aggregate matches??.....she never could count!! ??? ;) ;D

PS Pauline now says that she’s unsure on how may legs she won on the day, as there may have been 3 aggregate matches??.....she never could count!! ??? ;) ;D She may not be able to count...... but she can certainly play! ;D ;D According to the information that Dave Alder sent to me, Pauline beat both Marilyn Izzard and Jackie Peckham 2-0, she beat Janet Burns, Bella Stoner and (Mrs) Chris Newson on Aggregate and lost on aggregate to Alison Norman in her last game of the day..... so 5 wins out of 6 and 8 legs won. ;) Congratulations to Pauline on her 3rd AEBBA Ladies Title.... 8-)

Cheers Dave That clears that up then 8-) but can you answer why only 41 legs out of 42? One leg (Jackie Peckham v Marilyn Izzard) ended up as a draw with scores of 5,750 each...... that must have been an exciting game to watch and nice to see plenty of good scores going in from all of the players during the course of the day. 8-)

Pauline scored an amazing 10 points from 12... legs don't matter at that calibre just the quality of play. she was outstanding !!!
I would also like to say a huge thank you to the checkers. Mr Chris did 14 legs on the trot !!
