Do we still have a patron for bar billiards ( if memory serves it was Reg Bosenquet ) is the spelling right ?. If not why not. Who would you like to see. My suggestion would be , John Vergo. You never know it might help to promote the game

Great idea for a thread, Gillian.
I believe that Bill Maynard (Selwyn Froggatt, Joseph Greengrass) was once our Patron, either before or after Reggie Booze-anquet. He once played the game to county standard, and hailed from Leicestershire.
My suggestions would be either Mike Gatting or Steve "Interesting" Davis, both of whom are aquainted with the game and are quite accomplished players apparently.

Davis would be my choice as I saw him in documentry once and he was saying what a great game it is for learning angles whilst he stood at a table. he could also be contacted to see if the BBC would incorporate the game when the Snooker world champs is on in their cue zone as they have all the other games there, and if we send a representative could it be me as i've got a thing for Hazel Irvine :-*

I would vote for Phil Mitchell as he is quite handy with the cue, on or off the table.

We'll see how the Colemanator gets on with "Interesting".
Another thought though is Ray Davies from the Kinks, who are known bar billiards players from before they were famous.

I once for my sins played on Indoor League, Yorkshire TV Leeds. Yes I am that old !! Freddie Trueman was the master on the day.... plus his alsatians !! Sadly, for me, I was totally beaten by Viv Wright. Great experience and to have such an enjoyable experience. Would be good to see something similar. :) with a patron.

Did any one hear Al Murray [The Pub Landlord] on radio 2 mention the bar billiard table in his pub had broken? Now he would be an interesting patron.
