Saints deducted 1 bonus point due to late result. I have been told that the extra 'bonus point' awarded to second division teams that beat a first division team is still in existence :-/ Anyway that being the case in the event of a draw and at the moment, The Cock B would have two more points than they have now and, like wise The Exiles would also have two extra points than what they have now. As you can see I've added a column named B, this shows points that reflect 2nd div teams have gained against 1st div teams

I can't remember that rule about extra pint for 2nd division teams beating 1st division teams? :) How long has that been in.

I seem to recall that it was a few years ago now, I was told at least two years ago to forget it, is it actually in the rules? If not then it can only be implemented at an AGM. The way to seperate teams is first by points, then wins, then away legs, then home legs, then aggregate score.
the following is purely a Senario, this can't happen IMO,
Two teams tie for top spot, same number of points, but one team has won one extra game than the other team yet the other team has an extra point because it defeated a first division side, should be number of wins first, please debate.

I've checked last seasons stats and it's not in there at all, so why is it being raised again as relevant?

Which team is raising it? :)

Which team is raising it? :) Exiles, as they believe that they should have been top of the 2nd division last week because they have beaten 1st division teams, when I looked at the extra points both Cock B and Exiles had won twice against 1st division sides so Cock B were still top as they had one win more than Exiles. This week doesn't matter as Exiles have a clear lead due to this Monday's results.

It's no big deal really, I think somebody suggested it initialy as some sort of incentive for 2nd div teams to beat 1st div sides, or to show some recognition for it :D

I think somebody suggested it initialy as some sort of incentive for 2nd div teams to beat 1st div sides, or to show some recognition for it :D This is exactly why it was there, and it has not been taken away since it was initially put into place. Your right in the fact that the league position is based on points, and wins, but then if a team has beaten more 1st division sides then they move above.

Cool, so both teams should get the extra point? ;D

An extra two each at the moment.
I think that it would be a good idea to put this information on this months news letter so all 2nd div teams are aware of the points available for 2nd against 1st victories.

These 'extra' points are not to be added to the league points column. In previous years we have added a column after the total points to have the extra points in, Therefore everyone knows how many that have, and how that could effect the final positions.
Agreed, it needs to be reminded to the league. Have a word with Stephen, he is doing the newsletter this month.

Following on from above, I also believe that clarification is needed for highest 2nd div breaks, we're all aware of it not being awarded to 1st div players against 2nd div players (although how can one call Jim Thomson 2nd div ;D) but can a 2nd div player be given it whist playing a 1st div player? it has been given before but the rule needs to be clear. Now whilst I'm talking about rules I do think that it's time to issue or re issue a set of rules to all teams/players, I haven't seen any for years. :)

All highest away breaks, scores and league averages are based on 1st Divsion playing 1st Division and 2nd Division playing 2nd Divison only :D
