Ta Jel, i've now seen it for myself, have to say i had a quick look at the AEBBA site and in all fairness didn't look as if it had been updated for nearly a year.

County Champs - Div 1 & 2 - Sept 24, Div 3 Oct 8
Northants A will be in div 1, at this stage it looks as if Northants B will be in Div 3, but I will check with Dave Barnes

Info has arrived at last, by snail paper mail.
24th, div1 (Sx, Brk, Ox A, Kt A, Nth A) & div 2 (Sy A, Hmp, Bck, Kt B & Cam)
8th div 3 (Sy B, Ox B, Nth B) plus Open & Ladies individuals.
Ladies 1st Oct.
Palayers are reminded that bringing food into the venue is NOT permitted. Tea & coffee is allowable as that is not sold there.
Fo the info of Nige, I am off on hols the day after tomorrow and will now have trouble raising the Kent 'B" when I get back. I'll do what I can, but no promises due to the lateness of DB's decision.
Sav.

So No Berkshire then?????? Surely they should be there.
What decision is late? These seem like the same dates that were announced at the AGM last December. Unless it is the decision to put Kent B in the 2nd Div.
My understanding was that Northants would not send a B team on a separate day, so perhaps the new 3rd Div is at risk?

My understanding was that Northants would not send a B team on a separate day, so perhaps the new 3rd Div is at risk? I'd heard that as well, and wouldn't blame them as a division with only three teams in doesn't make much of a competition. But Sussex may be saving the day - last night the committee considered the wishes put forward at the AGM and agreed in principle to a Sussex B.

I can confirm Sussex will be entering a B side. Northants B have pulled out
So the divisions are as follows
Div 1, Sussex, Oxford, Berks, Kent, Northants Div 2, Bucks, Surrey A, Hants, Cambs, Kent B Div 3, Surrey B, Oxford B, Sussex B
If Sav fails to raise a B side for Kent, none of the teams in Div 3 are to be promoted because none of them were in the compeition last year.

Nigel, Northants B have not definetly pulled out yet. I will be bringing it up at the AGM on Thursday to see if we can get a team there. :)

Nige, If Kent B do drop out then Northants B should be promoted as they did play last year.

Ok, thanks for letting me know as I was told Northants B were not playing.
Lolly, if Kent B drop out, Northants B will be promoted to Div 2. If Kent B do attend obviously Northants B would be a Division 3 team. I will update this thread when I get news from Sav re Kent B.

Nigel, Can you confirm that for Div3, if there are four teams it will be three matches, but if only three teams it will be four matches (ie going round twice) ? (It being a long way to travel for just two games.)

Tommo,
If there are 4 teams, It will almost certainly be 3 games each but possibly 6, if it is 3 teams it will be at least 4 games, possibly 6 (going round 3 times). At the moment it depends on how many entries there are for both All England singles competitions (as it can make a big difference if there are drop outs). Basically I will try to fit as much bar billiards in to the time I have available for the day, and I will work out a format once I know exactly what the entries are.

Nigel, sorry to be a nitpicker but for our County it should be Oxon or Oxfordshire, or our fellow neighbours Wallingford,Witney & Eynsham will be upset.
Thanks, Keith.

Not so keen now then Ian! We have missed the last day of the Ryder Cup for the past ten years or so!
Is there any more news on Kent B? Will they be fielding a team?

Any news yet on Kent B ????????????????? KBBA AGM is on Sunday. I requested, but have not had a single nomination from the other leagues in Kent for players who would like (and are available for) the experience of playing intercounties in the 'B' side. Due to personal circumstances, my barbilliards activity is likely to be very curtailed over the next few months. I will know more in a few days. Chris Saville Secretary KBBA

Can I ask why the Lincolnshire A side have not been entered? As Pete F will attest, I have been county secretary for approximately 4 or 5 minutes now and am suprised that my team has had no mention whatsoever.
How very dare you!!

BUMP of thread !
Atten: Nigel, Any news of the line-up yet as it's nearly upon us ?
(assuming no time to formulate a Kent B) :
24th Sept - Div 1, Sussex, Oxon, Berks, Kent, Northants 24th Sept - Div 2, Bucks, Surrey A, Hants, Cambs, Northants B 1st Oct - Ladies County Championships 8th Oct - Div 3, Surrey B, Oxon B, Sussex B (plus Open Indivs, Ladies Indivs)
Right or wrong ?

Tommo
Kent B are in and will therefore take their place in Div 2. So Northants B are welcome to play on the 8th Oct but are division 3 but i believe they are not going to play. Otherwise details are correct.

Northants B wanted to play on the 24th September!! This was the issue, we all wanted to travel down together (A and B) teams to keep travel costs down and also for the team spirit. Northants B entered last year and would have played this year. When was it known about Kent B entering and why were we not informed in Northants? Northants B should have been in Division 2 as they entered last year!

I find it a touch unfair that Northants B should be relegated into Divsion 3, as there was no Div 3 last year i feel they should have stayed where they were in Div 2. If any team should be dropped down it should be Bucks, because they failed to send a team last year.
Keith.
