Well done Kevin & Steven and unlucky Mark & Tony, I have been told that there was nobody left in the room to mark the finals, so Janet Burns had to get Keith Hollis & Ian Moss, who were playing pool in the other room, to mark the finals, so perhaps it's time to play only one leg in the plate to save time. I can't see why not, as all the major Opens only play one leg in the plate and it wouldn't make a lot of difference in this competition.

You could have made the plate 1 leg for the first two rounds, quarter finals onwards main and plate were all on at the same time - that would have saved 40 minutes, but with the final due to start at 6.15pm a 7pm finish shouldn't have been too bad so we decided to go 2 legs all the way through.
I don't think 1 leg plate games would solve the problem of scorers though Keith....when there are 2 finals to be played (and for that matter from the quarter finals onwards) any other player in the room as been knocked out so can a) either go home or b) score whilst they are waiting for the rest of their party to finish playing. If people are not waiting for anyone they tend to go home so you always always going to have the problem of scorers especially when you reach the finals
