Dun Horse 1 Stout House A 4
Dave Simmons 2530 Pete Hartley 4620 (This game played fifth) Pete pegged out his opening break. Dave stepped in and foolishly left the break short on 500. Pete got his head down and rattled in 3k. Dave managed to get the break straight back but misjudged a split just under 2k allowing Pete back in before the bar dropped.
Stuart Hope 1990 Tom Clasby 3110 A scrappy game from start to finish. Tom ‘poodled’ his way through the game, whilst Stuart never really got going.
Grant Hope 1350 Gordon Carver 3790 Gordon went off with about 1k, Grant threw everything into the game, only to have balls whipping out, leaning over holes and clipping pegs. Gordon managed to pull further ahead. Only as the bar was about to drop did Grant get going. Doh..! Colin Bolton 2510 Adam (Poodle) Kuzimski 2980 Adam struggled with his opening break allowing Colin to quickly catch up and pull 1k in front. Midway, Colin clipped a peg losing a break of just over 1k. Adam managed to retrieve the break in the closing stages and pot enough to take the frame.
Scott Hope 2500 Sam Short 1180 Sam 4 broke her opener. Scott managed to eke out a 1k lead before Sam caught up. Again, Scott pulled 1k in front. Sam managed to pull the break back and was catching up when she 4 broke again, allowing Scott to make the game safe.
A disappointing result for the Dun tonight in a match that could have swung either way on a top that caught everybody out. The luck that was with us last week deserting us tonight. That said, it was a fun evening with lots of good humoured banter.
…And yes, as expected, egg sandwiches!!! ::)

Alfold Club 1 :( Limeburners Cricketers 4
R. Burgess 3690 B.Hammond 3610
A close game with Bill finding the break indifferent to begin with. Rob edged into the lead and then came in with a useful 2K, Bill kept at it and chipped away hitting a 1K break as the bar dropped to edge in front, leaving a ball up, which Rob holed to win this very evenly matched game.
M. Greening 3820 M. Davies 5470
Max went off with a 2K break, which was matched by the Major on his first visit. Max hit 1K on his second visit, the Major then hit 3K only to split 4 times to lose the lot. Max stepped in with another 2K and though the Major put another 1K on the board he ran out of time.
G. Fishburn 1370 K. Vickery 3780
Ken started comfortably with 1K, Gaz for whatever reason just could not get going. Ken kept putting points on the board leaving a frustrated Gaz watching from the wings. Not a tidy match, but one Ken won with some ease in the end.
T. Goacher 740 C. Sawyer 9980
Chip started well with 2K, Trevor frankly fluffed a good opportunity to hit back. With another break of 2K, followed by 4K Chip put the game well out of reach of the frustrated Scubafrog.
D. Slater 2200 B. Goodchild 3530
Brian started steady and Dave responded in kind putting together some decent breaks, though not quite managing to catch the more experienced Brian. This was an even game and it was good to see the rookie Dave play so well.
Another disappointing evening for the Alfold Boys, it seems to be coming a bit of a regular occurrence. Great food from Gaz and his lovely Lady Delia, the usual pickled onions courtesy of Bill and some banter thrown into the mix, made it a pleasant night, regardless of the result.

Springbok Club 1 Three Bees 4
Sorry have no scores to give you, but can report that Neil Peckham (Burgess) won the game for the newbies and they are on a roll ;D. Apparently young Neil was so pleased he had a little dance to celebrate, he may just be the next Michael Flattery ;)
Great to see them coming together and win or lose they continue to enjoy themselves and are galvanising as a team.
Trouble is we have got them next week in the Cup and the way things are going, there could be a shock on the cards :o
