Plough B 1 Stout House 4
1st defeat for the Plough :( but a good night in good company all the same
scores
Gerry Edwards 1810--2420 Gordon Carver 1k opener from Gordy, Gerry had no luck getting the balls back
Jim Greensted 1580--2400 Glyn Owen Glyn off early I pegged 1800 never recovered Glyn played some sensible shots and deserved his win
Jenny Edwards 650--3700 Keith Newman Noggsy broke off with 1200 and added the same again on his next visit, rest of the game played at the top end of the table
Chris Kirkham 2400--1020 John Tidy John missed the break ::) Chris took advantage and never let John back in.
Alan Downes 3270-- 3700 Dave Howlett Twiggy opened with 2980 and looked good but Alan rallied and other than a rushed effort on the left 50 may well have won! :o

Commiserations for the Plough B and this is probably not the result you wanted to hear from us (knew something was up, communication lines to Lorraine's mobile were down last night.) ::)
Baby Guinness 3120, B.Kennedy 510 tommo 5900, Vic Razzell 800 (a combined 80 years experience here, I used to play in the side with Vic back in 1970) Nick Hayes 3270 S Jones 2690 Jim Broderick 3930 M Murray 1330 Boball BP(x3) Steve Hopkins 4200 Mill House 4 Holbrook Club 1
Excellent night, plenty of laughs and cross-banter. Good steady last game from Steve Hopkins, (fresh from honeymoon?)

Only 3 black pegs for Boble? He must have been taking things easy last night ;D Bobble certainly had a fixation with the 200 hole last night. Twice when chasing he was unlucky to gently topple the BP with a shot off the back of the table. The third was the last ball shot. Then in the friendly afterwards he pulled off the trick shot with the 3 pegs surrounding the 200, to a huge round of applause. ;D

3 Black ones eh??? I managed that very same feat a couple of years ago at Handcross and my teammeates have been kind enough to make sure I remember at every opportunity!!!!-Thanks guys :-[
Southwater 2-3 Crawley
Well, we're continiuing our tradition of playing poorly pre xmas and hope we do the usual and play well in the second half as we want our third spot back again! We may have left it a bit too late this season though!
I'll try and write up but cant remember all the games (long day at work with an early start today!)
Game one was Jeff against Pete Fisher. Although neither could "find the table", Pete managed a 1200 break and lost another 800. Close, low scoring but a good win for crawley. Chris P and Steve played with both playing well. Chris finished on around 3k, but Steve did excellently as the table settled to score approx 6-7k. Gordan played his leg (think this may have been leg 2??!!!) solidly to grab a frame for us. Very steady performance from our most experienced team member. Good win Mr Ling! Tom is gradually finding his form again and put in a solid win in frame 4 to keep the game at 2-2.
Dave took to the table against myself in leg 5 and was around 5k up before I had reached the table. I rushed and missed allowing Dave to add smaller scores and win comfortably.
Each of the winners thoroughly deserved their frames with no close games for once.
Despite the frustrations of having my arse handed to me on a plate, the night almost became excellent as Brighton almost went out of the FACup. Luckily the best team in Peterborough did go through!
