FAO Dave Alder: See list of tables here barbilliards.proboards.com/thread/22229/list-tables-berkshire[EDITED FOLLOWING ADVICE FROM CEEBEE]Dave, we need information on Berkshire for the AEBBA Map of Venues and it would help greatly if you could confirm or deny the above. I think I've got all your current League venues correct, but if you know for sure that some of the ones below don't exist please let us know which ones and we'll stop them going on to the map. Or, of course, if you have any potential Berks venues that we don't know about, please advise. Thanks, tommo/Barbelman/Q [2ND EDIT FOLLOWING NOTE FROM AEBBASEC][3RD EDIT 29/12/13 FOLLOWING NOTE FROM Boblb][4TH EDIT 02/01/14 FOLLOWING NOTE FROM Beerseller][5TH EDIT 07/07/15 FOLLOWING NOTE FROM Boblb][6TH EDIT 06/10/16 FOLLOWING NOTE FROM Boblb]

For your info: ROYAL COUNTY OF BERKS SPORTS SOCIAL CLUB, 1 ALDBOURNE AVE, EARLY RG6 7DB DARWIN CLOSE SOC CB, 6 DARWIN CLOSE, READING, BERKS RG2 0SG
should read: ROYAL COUNTY OF BERKS SPORTS SOCIAL CLUB, , 6 DARWIN CLOSE, READING, BERKS RG2 0SG
The Aldborne Avenue reference should read: Our Lady of Peace Social Club (OLOP) 338 Wokingham Road Earley, Reading RG6 7DA Bar: 0118 935 2927 (opening hours only) We use the post code RG6 7DB to help those using a Sat Nav as the entrance to the car park is in Aldbourne Avenue. Hope that helps CB

I have been looking again and have noticed a further correction:
The Pond House is at 738 Oxford Road, Reading, RG30 1EH and not in Maidenhead
Also two non league venues that I am aware of:
The Maiden Over Silverdale Road Earley Reading RG6 7NG
Eat & Drink at London Road (A Reading University Bar that is open to the public) Redlands Road (junction with Acacia Road) RG1 5EX
regards CeeBee

Thanks for that, Ceebee,
Tony (Barbelman) is currently putting on the Berks venues and hopefully he will note and be able to include these amendments.

Unfortunately I was advised last night that the table at the Maiden Over was removed at the start of this week following a change of landlord.

The table that was in the Pack Saddle, was removed after the fire in Feb '13. Now looking for a home it is being stored at my house meanwhile. Anyone interested in having it on a 20% of takings basis please make contact.

morning all I would like to introduce a new venue, with a bar billiards table, Butchers Arms, Lower Armour Rd, Tilehurst, Reading, RG31 6HH, the table was installed a few day ago, & I am now a member on this forum, my wife, Chrissie & I, Mark, took over as managers of the pub, early november, after running our own pub in Guildford, for 5 years, over that period of time, we spent 4 years in 'the good beer guide, were 'cask marque' accredited, & were the local CAMRA branch pub of the year, 2012, we did start with a bar billiards table in Guildford, but it was a much stronger pool area, but we did have 2 teams in the local pool league, If any of you want to call in & say hello, you will be most welcome, Mark,

Good afternoon Mark and welcome to the Forum. Great to have a landlord who is interested in bar billiards, I hope it takes off for you and you eventually get a league team. You mention Guildford, was your previous pub the Royal Oak ? If so you may be interested to read this published article from one of our members Squire Richard; he's not actually a league player, his interest being staging miniature golf tournaments, but he acts as a roving reporter for us on non-league tables: hamandeggerfiles.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/games-in-guildford-visit-to-castle-and.htmlI have added your new venue to the list at the top of this thread, and will also put it in the queue to be added to our map of all known bar billiards venues in the country.

A new one plucked from the net:
Pheasant Reading Road Winnersh WOKINGHAM RG41 5LR
You could call me a 'pheasant plucker' !
WhatPub reported thus (in Jan 2019): Assuming non-league for the present - unless Dave Alder is able to confirm otherwise.

Whilst de-touring through four other counties (Hants, Wilts, Dorset, Somerset) on the way back from the IOW on Tuesday, we dropped in on the Grove Arms (Nr Shaftesbury) - separate report to come - and the chef there advised that bar billiards is played at the following:
THE ODNEY CLUB (John Lewis Partnership Social Club), ODNEY LANE, COOKHAM, MAIDENHEAD, BERKS SL6 9SR
