Limeburners Cricketers 3 Dun Horse 2
Ken Vickery 5210 Grant Hope 2510 Max Davies 720 Scott Hope 8280 Bill Hammond 3640 Colin Bolton 1260 Dave Goodchild 1140 Stuart Hope 2560 Brian Goodchild 3440 Dave Simmons 1680
Second game played first, Scott blasted off a 2k opener, Max struggled to respond. Scott managed to slot in another couple of 1ks before cleaning up with a tidy 4k.
Third game second, Colin made a bit of a mess of his opening break allowing Bill in early. Bill quickly built up a 1K lead which proved enough to take the frame.
First game third. Grant looked comfortable on his first break until he had a Weetabix lack moment just short of 2k, leaving the break short. Ken stepped in for a steady 2k5. Grant quickly got the break back, but again left both up. Ken racked up another 2k+ to make the game safe.
Stuart broke off well against newbie Dave(?) until an easy 20 shot leapfrogged the target ball to lose his opener. Dave played quite well considering it was his first match but Stuart’s experience allowed him to pull far enough ahead to make it safe.
Having read Bob Hall’s report from last night and watched Scott’s game tonight, Dave was looking forward to his game. Oh dear! Everything went pear-shaped from the break shot onward. An overhit opening shot, although on target, whipped out, swung across the table and took a peg out. Brian, gifted the break back, pulled just over 1k ahead. Dave tried everything only to be rewarded with constant balls up the middle of the table or behind the 50’s. He finally got the break back...with 2 balls left. :'(
A very pleasant evening as usual with the Limeburners Cricketers team. Chip not there tonight as he’s in Barbados. You’d have thought he could have come back to play! Lack of commitment I reckon! ;) Nice spread of food accompanied as usual by Bill Hammond’s Pickled onions.

What a great night had by all! The Railway boys are not only bloody good Billiard players, they are a real treat to have a beer & laugh with. We all really enjoyed ourselves and hope you did too.
It started nicely for the Stout House 'A' team going 2-0 up after the first couple of cagey opening games. This was just a decoy until The Railway boys sussed the table out & when they did and their top men got going all we could do was sit & watch... literally! The next 3 guys put on a masterclass of nearly 27,500 points between them. Well Played & Well Done!

Three Bees 1 Alfold SC 4 8-)
J. Tudmore 1720 R. Burgess 3470
Rob started with a modest break, but John did nothing on his first visit. Rob continued to chip away and though no great breaks, moved into a comfortable lead, eventually taking the frame. John really did not get going, seen him play so much better.
R. Child 2680 D. Slater 2440
Dave struggled to find the break, leaving Ron to hit a 2K. Dave responded with 1K and continued to put points on the board, while Ron found the lie of the balls a little awkward. A bit more time and luck (the red ball went down for Dave as the bar dropped), this result may have been a little different.
S. Eely 2250 M. Greening 2920
A steady start from both players as expected, with the Major just nosing in front. A very even game with the balls sitting awkward for both players, with Steve finding it impossible to win the break back.
L. Lennon 1710 T. Goacher 1830
A similar game to the previous one with both Linda and Trevor putting modest points on the board. Linda did edge in front, but Trevor put together a break to bring them level as the bar dropped. leaving 4 balls up. Trevor missed a sitter over the 50, that would have secured victory, but thankfully Linda missed her shot into the 100 to let Trevor back in to clear up.
M. Lennon 1400 G. Fishburn 2660
Both players were struggling with the break and though Mick had local knowledge he could not put this to his advantage. Gaz settled in and put enough points on the board to ensure the game was out of Mick's reach as the bar dropped.
A great evening, with good company, a warm fire and decent beer. The food was most welcome and a good selection of sarnies (with a few egg) but we like them ;). Like the pub and the people a pleasant time had by all.

Blue Ship 4 Springbok Club 1
S. Holden 2170 T. Wilson 730 M. Johnson 6950 K. Nixon 1100 D. Johnson 2320 R. Parson 390 C. Cathie 4700 N. Peckham (Burgess) 1270 A. Maybee 1810 B. Hicks 1820
Another point on the board for the Springbok lads, courtesy of Bill who pocketed the last ball (red) into the 200 pocket to nick the game from Alan.
Report from the Springbok lads, was loved the pub, found it to be very traditional and unique, good beer, food and great welcome from the Blue Ship players.
