As some of you may know I just collected a Sams table from Kent last week and brought it home to Newcastle upon Tyne so have just had my first game. May be a daft question.......On the last ball shot, do you still bother if one player is miles in front (so you couldn't beat him even if you potted the red in the 200 hole)?
Cheers, Brian.
PS Remember - your'e still not safe at St James' if you're 4-0 up!!

I could answer that for you, Brian, but I think I'll leave it to any Arsenal fans. ;)

I could answer that for you, Brian, but I think I'll leave it to any Arsenal fans. ;) After the weekend Tommo...... you may be waiting for a while for anybody to admit to that! ;D ;D But to answer the question, yes most cases players do choose to pot the last ball (remember that it can into either the 100 or 200 hole) ..... but sometimes they don't bother if the match is either won or lost. PS.... I'm a Liverpool fan. 8-)

Ah - cheers for that - but leads me on to a further clarification please: I thought the last shot was ONLY for the 200 hole, and therefore became sh*t or bust, so best avaioded if you are clear ahead. Are you saying that players can CHOOSE whether to go for the 200 OR 100 holes?
Does anyone have a definitive set of rules for the three skittle game - something I could ideally laminate or frame and hang by the table? Would be very grateful - I guess it would be wise to start playing properly from the start!!!
Cheers All - Brian.
PS Thanks for the £35m for Carrol.

There is nothing more irritating than two players taking 5 or 6 shots each, at the 100 hole, to 'finish' a game off, when one of the players may be 1000s in front. ::) :-/

Just to add a bit!
In the 4 pin game it is the 200 shot only...maybe that's where the idea got in your head
Also in many fixtures there are ranking points involved for score achieved...therefore the last shot could still be relevant for the loser....customarily we will always continue if that is the case.
Also if you are playing a 2 leg aggregate game that extra 100 could make all the difference!
Have fun!!

I'd rather have the extra score on my averages even if they've beaten/lost to me by 1000's. :) This is why I also hate people who conceed prematurely, as it is selfish - my averages etc are now inaccurate due to an anomaly that the sore loser caused.
