Congratulations to Rick Dewdney and Jean Brackenridge, who won the Sussex mens and ladies singles today! ;D
Also a BIG vote of thanks to the organisers for a superbly run competition and the Hurst Club who were excellent hosts! ;)

I'd just like to say what an outstanding performance was made today by my dad in all but winning the sussex singles, after so many runner-ups. For someone that has hardly played the game over the past 2 seasons to put together a performance like that shows just how exceptional a player he is. Without the horrible misfortune he encountered in the final, he would have been a deserved winner.

Firstly thanks to MrH and Jean for the hard work they put in over the weekend
And big well done to Ricky D and Jean for winning the mens and ladies singles. I am sure they will do us proud in the All England Individuals in September (Jean being the current holder)
And agree with Chris that Dave Reeves would also have been a very deserved winner, it was a shame that the final was lost on a black peg. Without doubt the Sussex Singles owes him one (or even two)

Well done Jean and especially Ricky - the Singles title to add to the Masters of a few years ago to make up the set. 8-)
I've an old photo of Ricky's mum and my sister - both aged 9 at the time - sitting on my motor scooter. Now that makes me feel old.

Just want to say thankyou to everyone who scored games over the weekend. There were no problems getting scorers and this really helped to keep the days on schedule.
Sorry Gareth for asking you to score your match. Didnt realise you were playing as you were sitting in the chair looking really laid back although perhaps this proves the point that men cant multitask!!! ;D ;D ;D
Well done Rick and although i didnt see it as i was playing (although i heard the gasps of disbelief) commiserations to Dave.
Also like to say congrats to Sandra for reaching the final after 7 years away from barbilliards and returning this season.

Congrats to the winners, Singles & Doubles and commiserations to the losers. A big hard luck goes out to Dave Reeves, nobody deserves to Black peg in a final. Both he & Ricky played brilliantly all day, especially on the tough tables 3 & 4. Well done to the organisers, very well run weekend. Look forward to next year ;)

Congrats to Jean and Ricky. Commiserations to the runners up Dave Reeves nad Sandra Race who both played well all day, Dave had the misfortune for the ball to dive left as he went for what looked a straight forward in/off 100. Sandra who is just coming back into the game had an excellent game score of around 6.5k in the semi which is her highest since making a comeback.
Well organised weekend with smooth transitions between games and as Jean said plenty of volunteers to score. An excellent venue which made us very welcome and very reasonably priced food.
