Wellie 3 New Sussex Hotel A 2
Foxy 12100 Tupps 530 I opened up with 12100 and Tupps cleaned up 0-1
Nige 11k Kt 3k Nige did it from the break 1-1
Chunky didn't do it and Henry made a nice 8k to take the third! 2-1
John 3k Ricky 7k Ricky got his chance early and John wasn't able to take the chance he had later in the frame 2-2
So to the decider
Mal Spier played out the table for 13980 8-) Choice was looking good early on but missed a split and had to play up the left side of the table and succumbed to the roll giving the wellie the win
good luck to them in the final where I believe they will play The Atlas

Gardeners B 2 - 3 New Sussex Hotel B
I'm sure Dave will post the scores up :)
Great games all round, Damo up first and lost an 1800 break and lost by about the same in the end. 0-1
As Bob couldn't play, Pete played Kim, balls up the table for the majority of the game but Pete had enough to bring it all square again 1-1
Myself up next against Steve, he opened with a 5 or 6k break and I only came back with 2k leaving the door open for another 3k against me. Had one more go to stop the 10k against me and he ended 60 short :D Well played 1-2
Chris up against Dave was a good little battle as Chris came off earlier than he hoped but in the end the balls ran for Chris 2-2
Deciding game and we were hopeful for our rookie :) Danny vs Colin. Colin off with an early lead and Danny soon levelled the scores, when a stray shot ended up with the red ball leaning against the black peg and was quite tempting for Dan to drop it, but it whipped the 200 and toppled the BP. 2-3 NSH.
Well played all round, Mr Jones admitted he thought it would be a close one and it was :)

Gardeners A 4 - 1 Schooner
T. Molloy 4560 - 0470 J. Shurey * * B. Kerr 2430 - 0250 J. Hudson S. Aylmore 1520 - 1420 H. Cleveland * * R. Cunningham 9450 - 0390 A. Cleveland A. Jenner 1510 - 1900 A. Brewster *
An enjoyable evening to play our former 'A' team with friendly banter all throughout the evening. The table has some serious issues though with cuts in the felt and both the top and and bulk end rolling downhill into the middle of the table... But still, great evening!!!

Gardeners A 4 Schooner 1 Scores do not tell full story, Terry always in control first game. Jack had just taken the lead against Bill with one minute to go and looked most likely winner, but ball whipped out 20 and ended up behind 10 hole, he took black peg attemting to hit it. Steve had to put the last ball (red) into 200 hole to beat Helen. Rick always in charge. Both Arthur and I off early on our break and rest of game top of table, could have gone either way with scores close when bar went, Arthur making sure aftre I lost 220 break with second to last ball by missing one between 30/20 hole. Felt Schooner very unlucky, they certainly had their chances to take the game.

Colin Green and myself beat Dave Ingram and Bill Kerr 2-0 on a very tricky Old House top.
Where you played a ball straight at the right hand 20 hole and it went down the right hand 30 hole.

Martin & Geoff bt Kevin & Chris tonight.
No problems with the table in the first leg. Geoff opened with 5k, Kevin had one shot for no score then Martin ran the table out. The second leg was less refined with much play at the top of the table. Chris took the break but was soon off. Martin got the break back at one point but couldn't keep it going. Kevin scored well at the top of the table to close the gap with only a minute or so left but broke down. Finally Geoff got the break back at the death to seal the match 2-0.

Neil beat me 2-1 at the Henty tonight.
First two games went with break, Neil made a solid start to the decider and then took full advantage of an early mistake by me to end up with 10k plus.
Good luck to Neil in the semi-finals and many thanks to Barney & Tony Lewis for sharing the scoring duties. 8-)

I beat Tony Lewis 2-0 in the seniors semi last night at the Henty. The first game was low-scoring and very tight. I got the last ball into the 100 hole first go to be ahead for the only time in the game and won the second rather more comfortably with a 6000 break and touch up after a couple of thousand to start with.

We know where it should sit and it does have a couple of rolls on it but nothing as bad as that. We will have to think of a way round it - perhaps if we knew when matches were to be played one of us could come down and position it. Either that or we need to fix the legs somehow.

Once played on a table where if you aimed at the 50 hole you could score 100 and thats with a white ball! (The Dinkum Polegate 1985ish, Pub is still there, table isnt) Beat that if you can.... but hope no one has had the misfurtune to do so

Beat that if you can.... but hope no one has had the misfurtune to do so regs cs Oddfellows at Pulborough around 9 years ago.... so uphill you needed a break cue (pool joke), I got beaten on the 100 hole when the home player hit it SO hard that the ball hit the pocket, jumped 6 inches in the air and went plumb down the hole. (the 'standard' 100 shot left the ball VERY close to the black peg, returning from the cushion at around 90 degrees..... absolutely shocking

Don't really feel that I need to justify our table, but it is interesting to note that BOTH teams scored more on our table than they did on the New Sussex table in the reverse fixture, and I think the New Sussex table is good.

Our table does go a full 20 minutes Higgins. I can't remember but maybe the New Sussex goes less (say 15) in which case your argument only stands up if the scores on ours were 33% higher.

Agree with Niel that nobody should havve to justfy their table, and if we look at the latest table performance ladder for Premier/div 1 the table is not bottom of the league and the New Sussex A went their as a team and scored 37170 an average of 7434 per player. As Paul said earlier the table gets moved about and this is a problem a lot of venues face, we have to be pleased of venues that host us in these times of diminishing venues..

I beat James Osborne 2-0 tonight at the Old House. The first game was tight all the way and I won by finishing on the 200 hole.
The table ran fairly straight - I believe that Paul checked it over earlier, thanks to him for that! 8-)
The table did present some challenges, but none of them seemed unfair.

Yes I did - it wasn't in its proper place - it was 6 inches closer to the window than it needs to be and 1 inch away from the heater on the back wall. As soon as I moved it to its normal position - flush to the heater (which wasn't on!) and the left edge about 4 inches in from the corner of the panel behind the table it was fine - a small roll (nothing worse than, for example, the Swan) on a couple of holes but mostly straight. The break was (as usual) a bit tricky but perfectly gettable.
