Hi all,
Re Eastbourne Handicap Comp
The Sunday prior to this years Eastbourne Bar Billiards Finals Night (22nd May) The league will be running a handicap bar billiards competeition.(at this stage only open to Eastbourne league players)
The idea is to promote interest in bar billiards for the junior/improving players giving them an even chance to win trophies.
The averages of registered players are recorded at the end of the season, normally we have 15-20 players attend, we have 4 groups who play a round robin and the winner of each group play in semis and then finals
Normal league rules apply but the lower average player starts with a score equal to the difference of the combatants averages. i.e. if player a has an average of 2900 and player b has an average of 5100 then player a will start the match with a 2200 point lead.
Over the years we had the strongest and weakest league players win this competition.
Entrance fee is £5.00 per person and a raffle takes place before the final, which allows the league to generate much need income to buy the 40 trohpies that we hand out each season
As far as we know there are no other similar comps in the area........Yet!
But perhaps other leagues might like this idea?
