Our game this week has been (i hope, given that I have reminded Ray on countless occasions) been postponed due to the Toad World Champs in Lewes. Will keep you posted.

Sparky I apologise. I did my best. Short of rearranging the match myself there wasn't much more I could do. This is why I stepped down as Captain!
3 posts moved to main fixture thread for week, as not really 'banter' - tommo

Henry, I understand you did what you could and thanks for that, and just waiting for an answer to which of the 4 dates your team can do and then hope I can book the USC table for it.

Mill House Z 3, Brewers Arms 2 Clive Oh Clive..... Last wednesday out of the 10 players in the room, many of which are quality and experienced players, you were the only one who could play on that table. Well, wasn't the case tonight as I was the only one who couldn't play the table! ;D Mr Mike 3910, Derek Taylor 5000 tommo 1960, Trevor Greenyer 3760 Barry T 4570, AFW 2970 Graham D 3000, The Jockster 2660 Alan Downs 4510, Dilly W 1400 Sociable evening, each frame (except mine) hotly contended. Jock could have done with one more minute on the bar. Oh, and out of sympathy for SpecialOne, AFW managed to bang his head against the very same beam. He'll have a big lump in the morning. :'(

Bravo sugessted that i will fill in the waffle but i think the scores speak for themselves in the Brewers-Eight bells match. Needless to say that 5 players helped themselves to a table back to its best. Regardless, it was a really decent evening with the very sociable Eight Bells, and just the tonic after a very bad day at work!
Cheers to Ros and co.

Two 'missing' writeups provided by Roy.................
Plough L/B 4, Watermill A 1 Plough LB slowed The A Team’s chase to catch Plough PG with a good home win. Geoff Parsons took the first from Chris Nikolaj and Keith Potter won the second against Kim Stenning. Big Norm pulled 1 back for The A Team, beating Steve Whyte but a Mark Webber victor over John Staplehurst sealed the match. The A Team quest wasn’t helped when they could only field 4 players and Steve Visor had the walkover.
Greyhound 3, Horns Lodge 2 Two very valuable points come Horns Lodge’s way in their away game at the Greyhound. Paul Goodwin won a close opener against Tom Massey but a win for Dave Tiffin over Hassan made it 1 all. Ted Stringer got the lead back for Greyhound with a comfortable win over Mike Letham and Geoff Fairs took the match with an even better effort against Roger Dudman. The second, point came Lodge’s way with a last leg win for Kevin Stevens over Peter Burchell.

expecting Henry to give more detail even though we both had an embarrassing evening,
Sparky 170 - 2290 Les Whiteman I somehow took out the Black peg with about 6k7 on the board just before the bar.
Ron Wales 2680 - 4080 Andy Brooks Ron gave Andy a good run for his money.
Mick Kirwan 1600 - 1970 Henry Henry pegged a 6k7 break but had just enough time to come back.
Terry Gasson 9080 - 220 Ray Carpenter Superb game from El Tel
Andy Guy 1460 - 2500 Jim Ashford This game was fairly even most of the time.

Think the scores in game three were 2600-2970, other than that I have nothing to add except thanks to USC and Sparky for agreeing the rearrangement (once I stepped in), and for a great evening. We didn't do the table justice, it was lovely, just a bit unforgiving if you tried to force shots (which is what I tend to do!)
