Yes now realised and new venue decided. Tony, I have sent you a PM about this.... having spoken to Ros last night I cannot see a way that we will be able to play this match in Eastbourne until long after the play by date. :-/

Colleen & I beat Sandra and Kev 2-0 in a match played on one of the Competition Tables at the Hurst Club tonight.
Colleen opened with 2,120 in the first game with Sandra immediately replying with an identical score on her first visit to the table, we all had another quick go before I got the balls back and ran the table out with a steady 5.5k break to secure the first leg.
Sandra started with a steady 1.7k in the second game and the balls then stayed at the back of the table for quite a long time with chances for all of us, I managed to end up getting a "cradle" after making a patient break of about 400 at the back trying to clear the balls and Sandra was unlucky not to get the break back from that but Colleen then did and managed to catch the 2k deficit with a nice break leaving us exactly 100 in front with just the final white ball remaining.... Colleen just missed.... :-/ .... Kev just missed the 100 hole going for the draw.... :P .... and I popped the last ball in to win the game. ;D
Many thanks to Bill for scoring.... and the supporters who had stayed behind to watch after the Ladies One Day Competition had ended. 8-)

I beat Tony Lewis 2-1 at the Dolphin Littlehampton last night.
I won the first fairly comfortably, as did Tony the 2nd.
The decider was an 'after you Claude' where I eventually fell over the line and landed in a heap about 2 minutes before the end.
Thanks to Higgi for scoring

Just a thought here, I remember a few years ago that the semi-finals and final of the Captains Cup were all played on the same night at the Albion in Brighton.... and it made it a very enjoyable and sociable evening for all of the players and immediately resolved the problems of arranging dates to play the games and finding someone to score the games as well. 8-) Would it be a good idea to arrange for these matches to be played in a similar way? The Over 50's looks as if it would be easy to arrange as both of the semi-finals have already been drawn at the Locomotive.... [Over 50s Colin Southouse v Neil Higgins @ Locomotive, Littlehampton Stewart Chant v Paul Barnett @ Locomotive, Littlehampton. .... so that is probably just a case of finding out what night the players would all be available? :D The Captain's Cup would need a bit more thought as the draw has put the matches at different venues.... Captains Cup Dave Ingram v Ros Appleby @ Watermill, Burgess Hill Colin Southouse v Jim Millward @ Smugglers, Worthing .... but a venue in Horsham, Billingshurst, Littlehampton or West Sussex would all be as "neutral" as possible as Ros and myself are only occasional reserves in Horsham and none of the players play in the other Leagues? That would just leave the final of the Mixed Pairs..... All to be played by 24th March, results to Tony Jenner. Please those been given an extension to their quarter finals play these as soon as possible, finals played by date will be 21st April ( all finals to be at the Stout House, Horsham).Mixed Doubles
Kev/Hayley Tunstall v Nigel Senior/Ros Appleby @ Limeburners
Dave Ingram/Colleen Park 2 v 0 Kev/Sandra Hall @ Royal Oak, North Bersted
.... which could be played at the Stout House as shown already. 8-) Over to the Competition Secretary and the other players for their thoughts about this.... ;)

I'm happy with Dave's suggestion, if the other players and the Competitions secretary are as well. Would we still play at the Locomotive, or would the matches be switched to the Stout House?

Happy if all players can arrange for over 50s to all be played at Locomotive to include the final on one night, if all players can agree a date and let me jknow, if I am avaiable will come along and score all games.
As for the Captains again happy if all can agree on a date to play these at one venue, and again if free will come along and do the scoring, susggest if okay with all that this is played at the Holbrook Club or the Railway, Billinshurst.
Mixed Doubles to take part at the Stout House again if free quiet happy to come along and score.
Leave the players to talk and arrange mutual dates, and do think the idea of holding semi finals and finals on one night at one venue probably the way forward.

It looks as if Gandalf forgot about this thread.... :-/ Jim v Colin at the Hurst game 1 Colin 3k Jim 11K game 2 jim 13k Colin 2k after I opened with the break 4 times things went downhill from then on, Jim took only a short time to get used to the big LH roll and the fast top and a 7k break early on sealed the first game. in game 2 Jim continued his mastery of the difficult top off break and got to 10k early on, I was unable to deal with the table any better and deserved to be at the wrong end of a drubbing tonight. As the missus was with me tonight, she made some new friends at the Hurst who recommended a trip to the plough at Pyecombe for a snack on the way home. I can thoroughly recommend the venue, food really nice especially the pate starter, the entrecote stroganoff and the bottle of merlot. result lost 2-0 and £70 worse off but worth it ;) regs cs So I thought I would put it on here for him. 8-) Glad to hear you had a good evening Colin, despite the result. ;)

well done to Paul and Neil in making the final of the over 50s, they then went onto play the final which resulted in a 2-0 win for Paul. An interesting evening with the table making you think.
