Not sure if his score is enough to earn any Ranking Points, but Gary's result was actually Gary Ridley 4680 Rick Dewdney 6590 Thanks Neil.... yes, the score is worth 0.1 Ranking Point for Gary, I will change the score on the Sussex Website next time I do an update. :D

Second leg at the White Hart last night saw the home team win 3-2, making it 6-4 on aggregate.
Nipper 11450 v 5370 Nick Brown - Martin opened with a flawless 11k, Nick made a couple of breaks after. Chocie 4050 v 8850 Paul Barnett - Barney opened with a steady 7k+, making it difficult for Stu to catch. KT 10310 v 2420 Neil Higgins - Neil broke down early leaving the balls short, I missed the white on my first effort at the break but managed to stay on for a 10k bk. Foxy 10680 v 2460 Gary Ridley - Jim wrapped up the result with a good 10k opener. Dude 490 v 8400 Tony Burgess - Tony made his highest ever competitive score in the finale with 2 breaks, Rick had no luck early on.
Should be a cracker next v the Atlas ;)

The Star v Ashburnham Arms
Peter Payne 1560 Mike Daw 9610 Stewart Chant 2120 Sean Taylor 4440 Fred Pope 3370 Bob Osborne 2910 Phil Osborne 6900 Mick Osborne 3840 Colin Southouse 6480 Roy Harmer 2130
The Star 3 Ashburnham Arms 2
Overall Result The Star 5 Ashburnham Arms 5
Tie Break Colin Southouse 5090 Mike Daw 5580
A night full of twists at the Star, going 2-0 up on the night (with Mike Daw hitting a superb 7760 break and Sean Taylor looking like his old self) we couldn't find the extra leg needed to win the tie overall, then came a thrilling tie break Mike went off with a 5k break, Colin broke down after 2.5k, Mike couldn't clear on a couple of occasions, Colin went back on needing 1700 but the bar went after he got to 1k.
Thanks to Colin and all the Star team for two great hard fought nights with many laughs!

Laughing Fish 2 Black Horse Rottingdean 3 Dave Ingram 10,740* - 1,900 Marcus Chipman Bill Kerr 3,500 - 11,960* Gareth Lloyd Tony Jenner 0 - 16,310* Ian Lelliott Henry Brooks 12,390* - 4,520 Richard Wooton Terry Molloy 260 - 13,190* Nigel Senior Table playing superbly tonight in a high-scoring match which makes it all to play for in the return leg which will hopefully be played next Tuesday.... lovely shepherds pie to fill some empty tummies. 8-) The second leg of this match was played on Tuesday 2nd July and the excitement continued..... :) Nigel Senior 4,930* - 5,960 Bill Kerr Nigel off to a reasonable start and had a second chance with the break, Bill made a couple of steady breaks to take the win. 0-1 Marcus Chipman 1,060 - 6,310* Tony Jenner A useful 4.5k opener from Tony proved the difference with Marcus unable to get the break back. 0-2 Gareth Lloyd 8,630 - 3,770* Dave Ingram A 2.5k opener not enough for me with Gareth first to get the break back, I had a second chance but missed a split and Gareth made sure next visit. 1-2 Richard Wooton 10,020* - 7,170 Henry Brooks Richard opened with 5k plus and was first to get the break back and made another 4k plus, Henry certainly had a good go at it but came off on a split although he would hardly have had time to catch up. 2-2 Ian Lelliott 2,570 - 7,930* Terry Molloy Terry off early but first to get the break back and ran in a good 5k plus break, Ian got the break back but came off and Terry finished the game off to take the last game. 2-3 So, with the match all square at 5-5 we came to the decider..... Nigel Senior v Henry Brooks Henry started well and looked well settled before just missing a split and then coming off with a cruel double kiss at the back of the table, a superb break of just under 11k from Nigel sealed the win but Henry still had time to come back with a 5k plus break at the end. Nigel 11,110 - 8,130 Henry Black Horse 6 Laughing Fish 5 Two excellent games played in a highly competitive but friendly manner.... congratulations to the Black Horse on their win, we wish them good luck in the next round. :D

First leg of our semi played at the White Hart last night saw the Atlas sneak a 3-2 win when it looked like the home team were going to take the spoils.
Nipper 10520 v 6200 Geoff J. - A superb 10k opener from Martin, Geoff played out the remainder. Dude 7510 v 4100 Jim M. - Jim pegged his 3k opener, got another 4k before Ricky finished off with 7k. Chocie 300 v 16070 Mario - An impressive 10800 start from Steve giving Stu no chance and then adding more for a good total. Foxy 3450 v 8550 Grant - Jim started ok but then missed a ball by the left hand 30. Grant made no mistake with a steady 8k. KT 90 v 10460 Mark J. - Mark kicked off with a steady 5k, I managed to miscue when playing up the table and Mark made sure with another break.
Still all to play for but an uphill task now for the Hart boys.

I only posted the scores ealier and i wasn't playing due to my broken collar bone, but I've already had a request to do a proper write up (seeing as I came to watch). So hear it is, enjoy! (this of course has nothing at all to do with the fact I want to show off my new league match template.... nothing whatsoever). Remember The Atlas were 3-2 up going into this second leg..... THE ATLAS vs THE WHITE HART - 29/07/2013 | Sue Mariner | 13,900 | 810 | Stu Mepham | Sue had the break and kicked off with 9,870 to kill the leg. It really was as simple as that. She had one scare when leaving the white in front of the hundred, but stayed composed to win the first leg, and got a few more after that. 1-0 to the Atlas | Jim Millward | 10,610 | 6,060 | Jim Greenstead | Jim Greenstead came off with about 500 I think, letting Mr Millward get on the table early. After a few shots Jim got the break back, and despite a woobly first couple of thousend remained steady afterwards to kill the frame on that visit. 2-0 to the Atlas and 1 leg away from overall victory. | Steve Mariner | 7,050 | 11,480 | Kevin Tunstall | Kevin had the break, and from what I could see was trying to run the table out for about 35k. However he came off at around 6k giving Steve one chance, but he failed to get the balls back, and Kevin then went on to wrap up the leg, but not before Mario getting some score of his own at the end. 2-1 to the Atlas | Geoff Jukes | 7,010 | 810 | Martin Cole | To everyones amazment, Geoff pushed the red on his first split left of the pocket and up onto the cusion. Then both guys went back and forth for a few minutes and it was Geoff who got the break back first. He then went on to get around 6k, chewing up enough time to nearly close the frame, but Martin had a good go at the end playing as fast as he could, before taking out the right white peg. 3-1 to the Atlas and the tie is finished. | Mark James | 4,860 | 7,850 | Rick Dewdney | I would be lying if I said I saw much of this game. All I managed to make out during this frame is that Ian Lelliott was spotted the other day wearing trousers! To which Jim straight away pointed out to everyone that he must be going to court! But anyway, Rick won this game as you can see, making it 3-2 to the Atlas on the night and 6-4 overall. | 3 | 2 | Breaks: Sue Mariner 9,870 |
Well done to all involved, especially to "Super Sub" Sue who was very keen to point out how much of a better player she is than me..... which is probably true. Thanks to the Atlas for hosting us, especially for the wonderful Pizza of which there was plenty. Also big shout out to Martin who has just become a father :)
