Worse than that, Boball as away captain is probably already constructing the gibbet ! :o ;D I'm sure that Ian & Mary at the Plough will sort something out for them to save the day..... after all, they did have years of practice looking after forgetful bar billiards captains at another venue in Mid-Sussex.... 8-) ;D

I hope so. Bobhall if you read this, I am very sorry I haven't sorted anything out...I will see what can be arranged when we get there, even if its just a few bowls of chips and we have to pay for them! Sorry!

Don't panic H..... or Bobhall. Darren, the home team captain, has told the pub about the fixture, they are expecting you and food has been organised. ;D I guess that you will have to buy Darren a nice "thank you" drink next time you see him H.....! ;)

Yes thankyou Darren, although I always do the same this end for neutral games - wouldn't it make more sense if that were the arrangement?
Nevermind eh, got off lightly this time!

With Johnny 'Aceed' out of the country and Barry and tommo resting tonight, Johnny 'Magic Wand' gets the call-up. And he's offered to drive, which means a rare opportunity for tommo to exercise his drinking arm ! :P Good luck to all playing in the cup tonight. 8-)

Mill House Z 5, Woolpack 0 @ Eight Bells
Woolpack were let down at the last minute and had to play with just four. Jim Blake was having the better of the first game, but a patient break of 700 was pegged towards the end and he BP'd going for broke. Margo then won a close battle with Anne and that was it.
Alan Downs 2000, Jim Blake BP Johnny 'MagicWand' w/o Margo 1780, Anne Stockinger 1240 Graham Daniels 3570, Alex Slack 550 Mr Mike007 4480, Jan Hinkins 1280
Thanks to the Woolpack, sporting in defeat, and good luck to them in the Plate and with their league games.
Thanks too to the Eight Bells for laying on a tasty post-match vegetable curry, of which tommo had two helpings. :P And it proved to be a life saver for one of the regulars, a young lad who must have missed out on his dinner and claimed that he was 'starving'. ;D

BREWERS BRAVOS:1 C.K.R.B.L:4
Lynne:1120 Dilly:2700 Dilly was off early and Lynne looked to be capatilising when back on break but sadly pegged a 1k+ break and could not recover from then on in. Paul:2080 Pete:3640 This was actually a lot closer than it looks but Pete got back back on break at the right time to see it out. Spud:BP Shakey Coles:5500 I simply couldn't get on break and was easily beaten by Mark when he got going. Bravo:10'620 Dereck Taylor:320 The skip restored some pride with a superb peformance. An opening break of 9620 killed off the frame and it was back-board thereon in. Nikki:1220 Ted:3530 Ted played well to put the icing on the cake for his team

Greyhound 5 - 0 HH USC
Peter Burchell 1440 - 1170 Mick Kirwan
Paul Goodwin 1890 - 1540 Bill Boyce
Neil Burchell 2580 - 1300 Ray Pratt
Geoff Fairs 2360 - 1120 Graham Sparksman
Trevor Rees 2600 - 650 Ron Wales
It is very rare for me to make negative comments on the forum but will simply point out that these scores are a true reflection of the table, having played on it 3 times in 5 weeks, and that the entire team of reigning league champions totalled 10,870 meanwhile Adam alone scored 10,620 at the Woolpack. I love the Plough as a venue and the grub was great but sincerely hope I am not asked to play this table again until it is sorted out. Someone had spent time cleaning the pockets etc, and for that I thank them, however the table really needs setting up properly, especially the Red Spot, and offer my help (I am not now due to play it again this season in either league).
To finish on a positive note I would like to thank the Greyhound on a very sociable evening and wish them good luck as this would be our only scheduled meeting this year.

the table really needs setting up properly, especially the Red Spot, and offer my help Unfortunately nobody from the Plough uses the Forum, Graham, so nothing will be done unless you lodge an official complaint to the League. I agree with you though that a top score of 2600 in the entire match is not good.

Have realised that in my tiredness last night i did not thank our opponents for a decent night, which is rather rude of me, so i shall do so now. Would also like to thank the manager of the Woolpack for providing an excellent venue for Billiards. He introduced himself when we first walked in, had reserved the area around the table for our use and provided an excellent spread of sandwhiches later on. We look foward to returning here in the league programme (Adam especially i think!).
By the way, it seems the Droops team went down 5-0 to the Plough at the Watermill :o :o

More details as promised...
Laughing Fish 3 -2 Hurst A @ Plough, Plumpton Green
H 10,800 vs 810 Roy Wells
We had our bit of fun up the end of the table between me hitting breaks of 3.8k and 6.1k.
Ray Carpenter 3320 vs 1820 Hayley Tunstall
Both took a while to get going. But it was Rays 2x1k breaks vs Hayley 1 that won it.
Chris Ashford 1330 vs 7260 Pete Hall
Pete played excellently knocking in breaks of 1k, 3k and 2k, with Chris unable to reply.
Andy Brooks 3600 vs 1670 Bobhall
The old man knocked in a 1.3k break early on and then a few medium sized breaks to get to his total. Bobhall had the break back a couple of times but struggled to find it at all.
Les Whiteman 0 (BP) vs 1830 Jenny Edwards
A game of medium breaks with Les just having the edge most of the way until black pegs went flying. Just to be sure, Les hit a final black peg with his attempt at the 200!
A good night, thankyou to Bobhall and his team and especially thankyou to the Plough who were great hosts and the Harveys was in great nick!
Table analysis - having played here in the Lewes league last season I was expecting a pig of a table - it seems to have been resurfaced and played brilliantly!

Table analysis - having played here in the Lewes league last season I was expecting a pig of a table - it seems to have been resurfaced and played brilliantly! H, I seem to remember playing the same "pig of a table" last year in Lewes League in the same fixture as you...... with me knocking in a 7k+ break in that game! 8-) Isn't it strange how two players on the same team view the same table on the same night..... completely differently!! :o :P But, I would agree that last year it wasn't an easy table to split on, so if that has changed then I will really look forward to playing there this season!! ;D
