Like Jean I haven't had a chance to look closely at the accounts, but agree that the van should be depreciated on reducing balance method, most businesses I have been involved with have opted for 25% but it somewhat subjective as the purpose is to write off the asset over its expected useful life. As the tables seem to be maintain their value I would leave them in the balance sheet at cost (average per table) and show a profit in the income statement if there a table is sold in excess of the average cost.
The perpetual trophies could be shown in the balance sheet, but only at resale value. we tried to sell some unused trophies in Medway but changed our minds after the prices offered were extremely low.
Again, thanks to Chris and Chrissie for getting the finances in a much healthier state.

I can only go with what everybody else has said about Bill. A really nice man, he seemed to a present at most opens and a very difficult player to get the better of.
Condolences to Bill's family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed.
The number of replies on this post here show how much much he was thought of.

The final game of the Inter-League with Medway requiring three games to secure the title with chances in most games for the player playing against the break. Good wins for Geoff jukes, Terry Oakley, Mark Brewster and Kevin Clark dusting off his cue again, and with the result secure Curt made a break of 23,700 only to miss the last ball shot. Thanks to the Redhill team for, as usual, an enjoyable evening.

Excellent food and a good table. Good to see a family rivalry with Mike Daw getting a good break near the end of the game to beat his brother. Some other good performances, as mentioned above from Mark Brewster, but also Colin Southouse killing off his game with an opening break of 8k against Gerry Goodwin. Some of us also had the run of the balls, sorry Sandy.

A belated congratulations to Dave Ingram on his first National win at Oxford and commiserations to Ian Lelliot, both players playing well all day. Also well done to Paul Sainsbury on winning the Plate competition and runner up Damian Coates. The tables mostly played really well as proved by the scores. Thanks to Mark Trafford and his team on a well organised day.

Thanks for the link for Tantivy Paul. Does anybody have any specific timings for travelling out and back. Is everybody going on Friday or Saturday, and presumably returning Sunday afternoon?

Thought I would throw my views in. Firstly, like Sav it is a great honour to be selected for the England team, which I accepted within seconds of receiving the text, although it has taken the withdrawal of some of the best players to accomodate me.
I accept Jim's views regarding family commitments and being able to justify the cost for 2 legs of bar billiards. I don't think AEBBA are in a position to support these games financially.
I think the best suggestion is a triangular competition at the Guernsey Open and Sussex open. This would leave Jersey without a fixed date as I agree that it would take away from the reason we all go in November each year. More players may be able to justify time and costs if they are going away to play 2 matches involving 6 to 8 games. This would also make the Guernsey Open even stronger.

Results from interleague game plyed last night between Redhill and Medway. I lost track of which series this was meant to be.
R Plaw 10650 v D May 490 J Wadsworth 2240 v C Driver 10580 D Jones 5800 v G Fitzjohn 8030 D Constable 9120 v G Goodwin 60 G Powell 9260 v M Brewster 11310 T Oakley 9250 v N Wren 2270 T Cross 3740 v S York 5420
Another close match with Medway winning 4-3 on a very good table with several of the games resulting in each player only having one vist to the table each. Hospitality, food and bar billards resulted in an excellent evening. Thanks to everybody at Redhill.
