Quick update, have not got all the cards in so this is not confirmed yet!
Final positions I think !
Division 1
Rose & Crown A Horse & Harrow A Tandem A Con Club A Dolphin A
Congratulations to R &C on winning and must have been one of the closest fought seasons for a while with so many teams in at the end of a season.

Congratulations to the DLC & Marlboro Club for winning their leagues and to Fairmile for runers up place. Its incredibly tight at the top of Division 1, the top 4 teams can still win it !

Cheers Dick, explains why we could not inform the Glads of the problem that night, hopefully all will be ok from now.

Few pubs/clubs put on food without running a card or paying for it, the comment was that it would have to be arranged with the club through you or maybe Bob.
Both teams struggling for teams last night, Charlie has been ill for a week or two, plus other players have flu I think. They tried ringing the club but no answer, they rang me and I tried with same result Dick so don't know what the problem was ! Ringing with no answer basically.

Mark, I am sorry you feel this way but most leagues represented on this forum/site will probably agree, it is not the responsibility of the league to ensure that food is provided at any venue at a league match or competition. Some pubs charge for food, others ask you to run a card to pay for it, others like the Gladiators for example, food is provided by the captains or a player, ask Richard Stowe or Bob Pincombe. I agree that given that the amount of money a pub takes over the bar then they could do more, but that is down to the individual pub, it's landlord or staff available to do it. We put games on all tables that are registered for the league and will not differentiate between pubs that provide food or not. It is down to competing teams on whether they are prepared to pay what a pub asks or choose not to get food, or alternatively take your own ! League rules do not state food must be provided on a game night, the same as it does not state that if you lose your game then you have to buy an opponent a drink, that again is down to the individual to do so if they wish.

These are the remaining games to be played in division 3/4. Hard copies posted, if you talk with anyone please let them know where they are this week in case paperwork is late. Thanks. Note: Gladiators and Fairmile do not put on food.

I think the 'A' side of worked quite hard to try and get the table better, but it is tricky. As you say on tables like that then it is a case of keep picking them off and make sure they go on the scoreboard. Often it's the lost scores that matter in those type of games.
PS Now I know who Beefy is ;D

If anyone wants to post results here then it would help but need the full score card if doing so to enter the data correctly.
Portcullis 'A' 4 - 1 Barleycorn I was the only loser to Stuart Giles :(

It is not halfway through season yet :(
DLC should have had a table after the last Committee Meeting, new tables will be given/sent out at half way point, about 2 weeks I think.

In 3 of the games there were less than 400 points in it. Considering your players were probably quite nervous for a first game I would bet on them improving quite a bit over the season. Rollock me at end of season if I am wrong. ;)

They ARE what does that say to you Mark ;) I take it you were the only winner.
Other results I have: Horse & Harrow A 4 Dolphin B 1 Portcullis A 2 Tandem A 3 Rose & crown A 3 Portcullis B 2 (shock or what) Dolphin A 4 Con Club B 1 (Jenny Abbot 10340 break, highest ever I think well done) Black Lion 2 Marl Club 3 Con Club A 5 Berinsfield 0
Just a reminder, anyone who wants to get results into the paper with score etc then need to email, post on here or phone them through by the following day or they will not get a mention.

The Horse & Harrow 'B' have dropped out of the league. Only informed of this when at the meeting to hand out the fixture sheets :(
There was also a cock-up on the D3/D4 fixture sheet and some of the phone numbers are incorrect or mixed up. Apologies for this.
Due to both items above I have reprinted the D3/D4 sheet and will post them off to the pubs/clubs concerned so keep an eye out for them please.
I have also put together a full list of pubs and clubs with address/phone numbers on that some maybe interested in. If anyone wants a copy of this or the fixture lists for printing for their players then PM me and I will email them what they want, they are in M$ Word format.
Reminder we need League Entry monies and competition entries and money in ASAP.
