Week 3 Report from Andy Ellison
There was an extra edge to the evening in the Old Town as the two Jenny Lind sides met in the Hastings Bar Billiards League Handicap competition, with both sides doing well. Jenny B started with a win as Landlady Linda Challis took the first game. However Jenny A showed the level of quality in their squad with a determined effort to turn the match around. Consistent scoring and wins from Ray Norton, Billy Skinner, Phil Roberts and Andrew Lipscombe led to a scoreline of 4-1 in favour of Jenny A as they maintained an unbeaten record in this competition.
Jenny A remain in second spot on points scored as Old King John recorded their third successive 4-1 victory against Ashburnham Arms A at home. Dave Pearce put the visitors ahead with a winning total of 5700. However his Ash A teammates showed signs of rustiness after two weeks enforced absence from competition. Skipper Andy Eldridge showed the way for OKJ with 7660 and a win in a high-scoring game against Sandy Harmer. OKJ colleagues Nigel Doe, Chris Lamb and Mark Bailey contributed individual victories to the overall win that keeps them on top.
There were several high scores too as Ashburnham Arms E met Nags Head B at home. Gareth Dell got Ash E away with a clear win and then Chris Haynes recorded the best score of the night, an impressive 10250 including a break of 5500 putting Ash E into a 2-0 lead. Mick Reilly was the other winner on the night for Ash E. Nags B skipper Colin Southouse was able to overcome his handicap this week with impressive totals in both of his games to record two victories and restrict Ash E's winning margin to 3-2.

handicap week 2 report from Andy
With one match cancelled through player unavailability, it was a quiet week in the Handicap Competition of the Hastings Bar Billiards League. However the two leading teams were matched as Jenny Lind B entertained Old King John. In-form Tom Palmer for Jenny B enjoyed a handicap advantage but came up against a determined Chris Lamb who took the opening game with the night's best total of 4320.There was strong support from teammates Mark Bailey, Andy Eldridge and Andy Ellison as OKJ took a 4-0 lead. Palmer returned to claim the home team's consolation win with a 4-1 final scoreline.
Jenny Lind A achieved a second successive winning result with a 3-2 away victory at Nags Head B. Nags B started well with Fred Pope and Stewart Chant recording wins in the first two games. Jenny A came back well with good winning performances from Billy Skinner and Ray Norton as Nags B skipper Colin Southouse found his large handicap too much of a burden. With the match score even at 2-2 , for the second week running it was left to Phil Roberts to settle the match in favour of Jenny A with his final game victory proving the deciding win.

Might be worth the ranking points committee increasing the available points in this event, it would probably assist in increasing the applicants to 80 next year Surely, if National RPs were a consideration, that would only encourage more 3-Pinners to enter. Don't really mind who it is that enters, the more the merrier, and the more 3 pinners that enter the more popular 4 pin will become, it's hard for me to see a negative here for more ranking points, once its all on narrow tops it'll be even more interesting.

Are you lot serious? You lot are EVIL Last year you forced me to start drinking at ten Saturday morning and from then on made sure I didn't have an empty glass, then sometime during the day I got asked to leave the local supermarket, can't remember why, then at the end of the four pin you bunch of no gooders chucked me into a car and took me to a Chinese restaurant in the middle of no where and made me drink even more, then when I left you the only place I could find open was a dodgy pub with a strip club opposite, needless to say I ended up in the strip club, at 5am finally i decided it was time to find my hotel but totally lost I jumped in a cab,the driver hardly spoke a word of English but I gave him the hotel name and he managed to reply "seven pounds please" I paid him m the money and he then proceeded to drive me about 300 metres up the road before stopping at the hotel front door, think I finally got to bed at 5-45 only to be woken up by del asking if I was going to get breakfast and then at 10 that morning it all started again Sounds like you've rekindled your 2nd youth Daveuk1 you lucky Begger and you didn't end up in the cop shop, my new no3 hero!
