A yes from Graham Daniels.
And a no from Mick Holmwood. Mick is currently recovering from a shoulder op. The left one was done a couple of months back and he had the right one done on Saturday. He will need another couple of months convalescing. He says it is strange having a new skill he learned (how to make the tea right-handed) now taken away from him. The sort of thing we never consider as we take it all for granted !
Lorraine's Competition Page has received an update on the website, by the way.

Lorraine, I spotted this today in connection with Nick Brown: I am off to Czech republic this afternoon to see nick brown at the weekend. So it looks like he may still be out of the country.

Sat 10.30 for 11am start Sun 11.30 for 12 noon start More reserves will be put up tonight Colleen Park has been missed off the Division 1 List.... :'( She finished 5 places above Mark Ridley in the Rankings for last season and should therefore now be shown as first reserve. :P

Please, I am not looking to start an internet row or become the target of a keyboard attack. Eligability for the masters may be a bit confusing because qualification is from the previous season. However, surely Mid Sussex individual competitions are only open to those currently registered to play in the MId Sussex league and whose preferred/main Wednesday league is Mid Sussex. The original inclusions of players such as Nick Brown may well have been incorrect, however this is not a critisism of Lorraine who does a first class job. I accept this is a purely personal view and that the committee and officers of the Mid Sussex League may take a different view. Regards Shaun

However surely Mid Sussex individual competitions are only open to those currently registered to play in the MId Sussex league and whose preferred/main Wednesday league is Mid Sussex. Shaun All of those players were registered last season (which is what the Masters Qualification is based on) and their main league was Mid-Sussex..... and the original list of players supplied by the Competition Secretary included several players who are no longer in MSBBL so I would imagine that they would not have been shown on that list if they were not eligible. ;) Since the Masters is a competition based on performances in League games that are played, I would not necessarily agree that it should be treated in the same way as the "Individual Competitions" and it surely should be open to ALL players that have played in the League during the appropriate season.... clearly, as the Masters is intended to be open to the players that have performed well, they must have played fairly regularly to be in a position to qualify? 8-) Just my personal opinion, but until such time as the Mid-Sussex Masters Competition is played during the season (or before the start of the next season) to which it applies, you are unfortunately always likely to get situations like this.... ::)

I must appolgise for the fact I have edited my post when unaware it had already been replied to. Dave's quote of my post was entirely accurate at the time. My modfications were based on re reading my post, and recalling a conversation I had with Lorraine on Wednesday night over the eligability of players like Nick and Doug. regards to all Shaun

This is getting more and more mysterious..... :o In addition to these players that have been "missed out" of the list of qualifiers.... ::) Colleen Park has been missed off the Division 1 List.... :'( She finished 5 places above Mark Ridley in the Rankings for last season and should therefore now be shown as first reserve. :P Also, in the Premier Rankings Geoff Parsons, Chris Nikolaj and Geoff Rose have all been missed out of the list.... :o .... 5 players that were originally on the list (Doug Mahy, Nick Brown, Mark Webber, Norman Cragg and John Staplehurst) have all now completely disappeared.... :o :o :o I wonder where they have gone.... somewhere better perhaps? I have always enjoyed a good mystery and Cluedo is one of my favorite games.... so I think that Miss Scarlett did it, with the dagger.... in the Billiards Room of course! ;D

hi dave as far as i am aware most names that have come off are due to being unavailable you will need to speak to lorraine for the full answer on names No, sorry Reverend (Bobhall) Green.... the players that have indicated that they are unavailable are still on the list but have been crossed out.... the other players have simply vanished without trace. Colleen, who should be on the Division 1 List above Mark Ridley says that she has not been asked if she is available and her name has never been shown on the List. :P Colonel (Gandalf) Mustard seems to think that the lead pipe may have been involved, personally I still think it was the dagger and Miss Scarlett hasn't denied it yet! :o ;D

As requested by Dave Ingram this matter has been referred to the Committee, so further posts regarding the handling of this Competition are discouraged.
Posts regarding availability are, of course, still welcome.
