Aw what!!!!!!!!!! I wanted Eddie 2 bellies in both singles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't hand cross kev's home Tuesday table? Bit naughty that mother hall!!!!!! luv ya Sorry mate but you are wrong AND out of order. Kevin does not play for the Handcross Team, he plays in the Redhill League with Tommo this year (with some heated exchanges on this forum about it too!) and the table has been moved and plays differently from when he did play there AND Lorraine does not influence the draw and I think it wrong to suggest so, even in jest :-/ :-*

Good for you!!!!!! The whole point of my existence is to be wrong AND out of order. (you should know that by now sparks) So I am to have achieved both!!!!! It was a simple question (sparked by a comment by a third party, meaning that we were both wrong) and really only required a simple answer not a lecture on what I can and can't say, or can and can't ask! Thought this was a forum? Free speech and all that? Apologies to Mother Hall for unfairly suggesting that she influences the draw! :'( Even though it was in jest, ;D and am sure she would have taken it so!!!!! So in order to maintain a semblance of etiquette I have withdrawn the mis-intended statement. :-* Jock!

Jock
I'm sorry you consider my reply a lecture but I have seen friendships destroyed by unintended or misinterpreted comments on this forum and do not wish for that to happen to us. I tried to stop any further debate regarding Kevin leaving the Tuesday Handcross team as it had previously nearly caused the ending of some friendships when at least 5 Mid Sussex players were affected and you did not appear to know about this.
I do not know what Lorraine would think of your comments but I am concerned that her reputation could be affected with some of the many people who know Lorraine from outside of Mid Sussex but do not know you or understand your humour.
I have not stopped you having free speech and hope you do not mind me using free speech to tell you when I am concerned with things you say, remembering that this forum is open to the world and we must all temper what we say.
You know I consider you a friend, and great company too ;D, so now I have explained why I posted as I did please understand my intentions and let us cool it now 8-)

Hey sparkles me boyo
All points willingly accepted and agreed with!!!! Your right I know nothing of the upset young Kev leaving the handcross team caused. Your are a considered and respected friend who has much patience and temperament, certainly enough to cull my rashness and rudeness! I bow to your good judgment and offer sincere and heartfelt apologies.
Hope your playing tonight, beers on me!!
Your friend Richard

Jock matey
I gratefully accept and offer my own apology for not wording things as well as I should have in the first place :-*.
Your words are kind and the sort a true friend would say and I shall be there tonight, although I nearly had to cancel about an hour ago when my son rang with what sounds like a serious broken and blocked drain :( :-X
See you later m8 Graham

Thanks BBR for your concern but I really wasn't trying to fit a pint into the piece of cue chalk left conveniently on the beer mat, however it fall over rather dramatically and slowed us all down going to the BB top, maybe waders should be worn at the Greyhound until it's fully dried out ;D ;D
Well done and good luck to you both. 8-)

Senior singles Trevor Rees v Bernie Lawarance
Trevor Beat Bernie
Bernie was kind enough to return my offer of the first leg and give me one of the games pegging a winning break at the end of the first leg. Hard luck Bernie you will be sadly missed next season.

I lost (1-2) to the "Fat Farmer" last night: a worthy winner as he made the best of the slightly tricky Windmill table.
Good luck to all those left in the competition.

Hard luck Bernie you will be sadly missed next season. Well done Trev, you deserved the win, overall you played 100% better than me and should have done me 3-0 I would normally wish you luck in the next round but as the final is between you & John Lear that would be unfair on my captain, so I will wish you BOTH good luck, just have a good game and enjoy yourselves. Andy Farmer Wright beat Clive Thompson 2-1
Difficult match on a difficult table, both players struggled to get to grips with the break, with Andy proving his quality by edging it on the last.
I know it's a different competition but Andy also beat Peter Edwards 2-1 in the semi final of the captains cup, massive contrast in play as both players scored heavily, no breaks less than 3k and some excellent play all round from both of them.
So we have a player from mid-sussex in the sussex captains cup. Go the Fat Farmer. Anyone know the result between Jean Overs and Gina Sherritt? And anyone with any idea on where the final is played would be helpful.

Re: the Mixed Doubles (Mid Sussex): Saw the Charlady tonight at Q's "farewell next Friday" special leaving do at the Handcross tonight. She informs me that she and Sir Trevor lost to Peter and Jenny who are through to their first-ever Final. Well done to them.
The other semi-final (BB Reaper and Mrs World Champ vs tommo and margo) is scheduled for Thursday 3rd May.

BB Reaper and Lady Hayley beat tommo and margo in two straight games at the Greyhound. And tommo wasn't really at the races !
This means that there will be new names on the Mixed Doubles Cup this year.
And both the Reaper and his male counterpart in the Final are still going strong in the Mens Singles, but face each other in the Semi-final :
MEN’S SINGLES SEMI-FINALS
Pete Edwards v Kevin Hall @ Windmill
Derek Taylor v Andy Farmer-Wright

Well done lady H, you played fantastic last night. i would also like to thank Q for letting me stand in for him.
I would like to apologise to tommo and margo for the way i played last night, it wasn't the game plan i had in mind (One down, and sit there playing 50's) but i could not get two balls down on the break.
Also tommo regarding the comments last night, i am only picking up a sofa Mr & Mrs Edwards house. The BB REAPER was not BB FLIRTING - But in saying that i can't control whats going to go on once i get there - its not my house to say.

i am only picking up a sofa Mr & Mrs Edwards house. No probs, Kev. You stole my own game plan (to play like an 80-year old) but Hayles did her bit as well. For Margo and me there's always next year to try and win our fourth title ! Strange bribe from your opponents for the Final: If you beat them maybe they'll ask for their sofa back !!! ;D

BBR, you were the star. You didn't have to go public about your two ball problem :o :o but seeing you mentioned it..........you did very well with your one ball game ::) 8-) ;) Looking forward to the final. H.xx

no worries about the quiz buddy. we did manage a third place with a little help from the odd person coming in to the pub and the extra three points added at the end of each sheet by those marking our paper. it was hard work trying to explain how we could get 23 out of 20.
