Preliminary discussions have been held to start a Crawley 4-Pin league ranged over three summer ( ::)) months in 2013. The idea is to utilise the three Crawley venues with bar billiards tables, and have a bit of fun in the process.
A draft fixture list has been produced for three teams of three players in each, going round twice (ie 6 frames per match).
Anyone interested in joining us, let me know.

Hi Clive
I may be up for this. If you could explain how it would work at the Masters I am sure that I could get a team out for it.

Hi Steve, We would have a slight clash of dates at the moment with the Jubilee Cup, but nothing that can't be surmounted. Yes we'll have a chat about it on Sunday. Regards, tommo

Further Pow Wow tomorrow at Horsham Finals Night ! :D

A development now is that the Black Dog have no interest in taking part......they have problems of their own. The current lineup is: Team A - Dun Horse A Team B - Plough TB Team C - Mill House Team D - Malt Shovel
IanG is seeing if he can get two more players interested for Dun Horse A to fill the Bye. If not, we will look at the possibility of a second team from the Mill House.
With still a month before the start, quite a bit could happen between now and then !
[edit 03/6/13 - Dun Horse A are now entering a team.]

I have now been told that The Plough Three Bridges is a non-runner, so we are now in the position of having a Bye to fill again. The other three teams look healthy though, with Maltshovel having the option of switching to the Holbrook Club should they so wish.
John Miller/Stout House has first option on the Bye - he will let me know one way or the other tomorrow night whereupon fixtures will be finalised.
Meanwhile if anyone else is interested in submitting a team of three players to play three homes and three aways on Wednesday nights in July/August please let me know a.s.a.p. (Venue needs to be roughly within an 8-mile radius of Crawley)

Hi Colin, The latest now is that the Stout House may be interested in taking the last place but need another day or so to come back to me. If we have to turn you down, we'll still be up for an "Interleague Challenge" with Eastbourne 4-Pin, maybe later in the year, at an agreed selected venue mid-way between both towns ! 8-)

Hi tommo might be able to find three players to play at one of your pubs let me know if you are interested and ill ask around regs cs Ok, can confirm now that the Stout House aren't interested, so I would now like to take Gandalf up on his kind offer. There is a vacancy here, though the pub don't know anything about it so you would be negotiating from scratch: www.crawleysussex.co.uk/directory/plough-pub-three-bridgesOr you could try one of your own choice so long as it's within reasonable distance (8 miles of a Crawley/Horsham ellipse) Let me know if it's a goer, and I will firm up the fixtures and publish them. Thanks, tommo

Hi Colin, The other teams had a pow-pow on Tuesday night and we agreed the principle of teams of 3 but a maximum of 6 can be registered with registration happening when they first play. All three teams seem to be going with 3 plus one reserve.
When it comes to a match, three names are submitted for a draw, 1 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v 3 and then go round again, but substitutes will be allowed for the second half of the match. So you can turn up with 3,4,5 or 6 players.
Apart from that, we want to keep it all as simple and friendly as possible ! 8-)
Mill House will be providing food, but half the amount for normal league night, working on the basis of teams of 3.
Rgds tommo

Nope, no fees, and will accept results on this Forum so long as all scores are given. No trophy either, winning team to receive 6 bottles of ale. And I assume you will be able to bring your own set of mushrooms, plus 4 spots (for in front of the 50s and 100 and for the object ball on the break). If not, no worries as your first home game is against us and I can bring some along for you.

But the Bull Henfield would be absolutely ideal as a former Horsham league venue, and one which we would like to encourage as having only recently acquired a table. 8-) 8-) 8-) Easy for you to get to as well, just A27, A23 and turn of on to the A281 at Pyecombe. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Official Fixture list (incorporating rule guidelines) and a scorecard template has now been eMailed to all Captains.
Don't forget to book the home matches with your venue.
Results can be recorded on here, and a page will be dedicated to the competition on the Horsham website (work in progress).
Any problems, let me know. Also if any directions how to get there are needed.
Looking forward to some great and entertaining matches !
tommo
