BIOC Ladies 2015

Dear Ladies

The BIOC Ladies will be held at the Hurst Club on the 26th July 2015.

We desperately need to know possible entries so we can determine whether the over 50's is played on the same day or the day before.

Could you indicate below your intention re entering - I appreciate you may not be able to enter at the time - would rather you indicated an entry even if you cannot make it.

I would be a no for the ladies, sorry. Like Jean, I thought the over 50's is usually November? Would be a bit concerned if it was 26th July as this might effect the Bucks Open as some people may not want to enter both being so close together - just a thought?

Winner of each group will go through to the Main Quarter-Finals with the best 3 runners-up. The other 2 runners-up together with the 3rd place players in each group and the best 4th position player will go through to the Plate Quarter-Finals.

Precedence on positions in each group will be based upon....
1) Most matches won.
2) Most individual legs won in matches (if equal number of games played) or best percentage of legs won (if different number of games played).
3) Aggregate Score (if equal number of games played) or average score (if different number of games played).

Start time will be 11am registration for 11.30am start.

With the likelyhood of 2 more players now entering the competition (to be confirmed), I have now done a revised schedule based on the original draw but with 4 groups of 6 players and "byes" inserted for each group.

This does mean that we could accept more entries up to the actual day itself although the group games will now only be single leg games with even break (not equal time) to accomodate the new schedules.

Dear All Ladies and Dave I

I am so, so sorry but I have to withdraw from Sunday. I just cannot play. My mum is at 'end of life care' and I don't have the heart to play.
It is about the fire in me and at the moment I struggle greatly.

Hayley is helping me with my mum, as I have no relatives over here, all are in Australia, so she too cannot make the day.

I cannot describe the battles over the last few days, just to get Nursing Care in a home, at an appropriate level. Never live in a county and have a unitary authority for your GP !!!!

My apologies totally on behalf of us both,

I truly thank Dave and Sussex for their great organisation re the day and am so very sorry that I have caused gaps in the play.

Chrissie, thank you for letting me know that you and Hayley will not be there in plenty of time to arrange the playing schedule. Fully understand your reasons and (many) things are far more important than bar billiards.

The bad news is that means I am now back to the drawing board as far as the format and schedule are concerned with mixed reactions from some of the players as to whether the group matches should be single or double legs....

All group games will be single legs, even break (not equal time) with first named player breaking first.
Top 2 players in each group progress to quarter-final of Main Competition.
Players in positions 3 and 4 in each group progress to quarter-final of Plate Competition.
Group positions will be based on the following:-
1) Most games won.
2) If players are level, the Highest Average score will determine position..
3) If players are still level, the head-to-head result between the players will determine position.
All matches will be played under normal AEBBA Playing Rules.

Why is it you have 26 entries in the Sussex off the spot, played in groups and double leg games, but the BIOC has less entries by 5
played in groups and only single leg games?

This would not happen in a MEN's competition, so why do us ladies have to put up with it.
