Suffolk and Norfolk paid their affiliation fees last year and have not been excluded at last year's AGM. Provided they have paid their affiliation this year they should at least have the courtesy of an invite. I cannot check AEBBA finances as my PC is away being upgraded.

Are Suffolk and Norfolk Full Members now or Associate Members? Needs an AEBBA bod to answer that one ! I am an AEBBA bod.... but that doesn't mean that I know the answer without referring to last years AGM minutes (that used to be) on the AEBBA website. I have included Suffolk as eligible for the County Division 2 and Men's & Ladies Individual Competitions, perhaps DaveUK can advise if they wish to take part in any of these?

No Ladies re Hants for the IKO
County Champs Divison 2 Yes re Hants
No Ladies County Team - thinking of clubbing together with Bucks next year as a joint team ? I am sure that will be controversial and have not even asked Bucks let alone the AEBBA !!!!!
Barry Radford - Men's IKO
No Special Ladies Entries

I would though state that Berks have not paid their affiliation fees to the AEBBA Treasurer, so at this point in time they or any individual cannot enter any of the above for 2015.
These were due in January as they have been every year!! and like SAV I am not chasing.
Thanks Chris

These were due in January as they have been every year!! and like SAV I am not chasing. Has the money got to be in the hands of the AEBBA Treasurer by the specified date then ? If Dave says he has the money and being AEBBA Secretary I really can't see this being a problem but if Berks are forbidden to take part in all the AEBBA tournaments then that will mean Berks will not be able to defend their title in the County Champ's. I think common sense should prevail here! Milko

These were due in January as they have been every year!! and like SAV I am not chasing. Has the money got to be in the hands of the AEBBA Treasurer by the specified date then ? Surely, the money should have been in the hands of the AEBBA Treasurer in January 2015 and not still be outstanding 8 months later? Constitution 5 of the AEBBA Rules states that if affiliation fees "are not paid by the agreed date then they will be doubled for every 2 months which they remain unpaid". The rule goes on to say " Counties will not be permitted to enter the AEBBA Competitions unless affiliation fees have been paid". It looks as if Berkshire will now have to dig deep and pay up. While I would not want to prevent anyone from playing in the competitions, we all know that AEBBA are trying to raise money to pay off the loans for the van and therefore need money to be paid when it is due. All of the other counties have paid their affiliation fees so why should one county have the benefits of being AEBBA members and entering the competitions without paying their fees?

Blimey!! Both barrels! Well as I'm always going on about "Playing by the Rules" I suppose I'll have to agree.

I know you've since changed your mind, but I'm a firm believer in this: I think common sense should prevail here! Milko Hopefully we will get a timely response from Berks, but applying the Rule to the letter would result in something far too punitive. Berks being absent would detract from the competition: Perhaps they should suggest their own penalty for what must undoubtedly be an oversight. tommo
