Good day to you all,
As Sean has stated above, we are running the World Championship in November when hopefully we may all be back to some kind of normality after such a crazy year, and we are not forced to cancel like last year. The Merton are closing its doors at the end of October, but will be open for our weekend only for paying guests i.e. will shall have the hotel to ourselves:-) Rooms will be available from Thursday 4th until Sunday 7th November, therefore checking out day is the Monday. The rates will be all BB we won’t offer Half board. All bookings will be pre-paid in advance. £65 for a double or twin BB per night £75 for a triple BB £120 for a family per night BB (All family types filling the family suites first) The terms agreed were that there will be no servicing of the rooms during the stay but if guest do require towels changed, they can call House Keeping during set times. They will have opened the Belvedere and Lobby bars and will open Bonetti’s Dinner on a reduced menu each evening. They will also open Bonetti’s for Lunch and dinner on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On the final evening for their presentation night, they will have the Star Room open. With a karaoke on the Sunday night.
Entry forms will be posted shortly.
Get booking and hope to see many old, and some fresh faces in November for the 40th Tournament that we have hosted.
cheers Graeme

Confirmed, whilst we would love everyone to stay at the Merton, as it assists us in getting better rates for the following year, we do understand that individuals like to 'break away' for fresh air amongst other things. I therefore am advising that any players (and their supporters) entered into the tournament, Jersey players included, will be allowed into the hotel if you are playing in the event.

Just been informed Mayfair closes end of October so those booked there will need to consider somewhere else.

I have just rung the Merton and was about to book the room..... until they told me that they would not give a refund in the event that I cancelled for any reason. I can understand them wanting full payment in advance and I am happy to pay that, but what happens if the competition does not go ahead for any reason?? We live in such uncertain times that surely there must be a possibility to cancel and receive a refund in the event that the competition is cancelled. Please can somebody advise if it is correct than there is no refund in the event of cancellation and that is what has been agreed between the hotel and the organisers? With thanks for your assistance. David

I am currently waiting for official confirmation back but they have agreed verbally that should governments change isolation/quarantine policies that STOP the tournament from proceeding then the hotel shall provide a full refund. Should however the tournament proceed and a player is unable to attend then no refund would be offered. Once I do receive this in writing I shall acknowledge on here. Thanks Sean

Evening all,
Further to this thread, I can now confirm that the Merton have officially advised that, should the tournament be cancelled due to further Government restrictions (either UK or CI) then a full refund shall be provided to any person staying at the Merton Hotel.
Please note however, should the tournament proceed then no refund would be offered to a player who could not attend.
Should you have any questions on the above then please do get in touch.
Sean

Hi Stuart
Yes, Dino is still looking and has no problem if Dick is ok with it. Dino will send off his entry for his singles, and his part for the doubles.
Thanks Stuart :)

Is the draw for Jersey out yet ?? Good evening all, A highlight to the weekend, on top of the usual events will be a LIVE draw on the Friday evening for the singles event (Doubles will be drawn in advance as normal), therefore apologies in advance for whom you may be drawn against and the time of day you play :-) Sean Part of an earlier post from Sean regarding the singles draw, closing date for all entries not until tomorrow

Im just thinking about the people who may not be around in the venue that night, when are they able to find out what time they are playing the following day?
