In which case, Michael has paid twice as he also gave me cash and I sent the cheque this morning so too late to change that. Jim B has not paid me yet so the simple solution would be for Jim to give Michael the money.

Home safe and sound after not too fraught a journey.... a most enjoyable day, might do this one again !
Many thanks to the triumvirate of Chris Cox, Martin Cole and Joe Oakley plus any helpers for such a well-run tournament.
Catering was top notch (bacon bap and lunchtime scampi in the basket all well cooked)

Plate semis were Martin Smith v Jason Neal and Gerry Fitzjohn v Bryan Stevens.

Some close games and surprises along the way.

High drama in the Kevin Charlton v Bob Hall quarter-final. Scores were even until Bob played the first leg out for a 7k lead. Then Kevin a superb 10,400 break but the bar still 4 minutes away. Bob then got to within 310, Kevin potted a couple and Bob left with a cueball and a red stuck on the back cush behind the 10 hole. He elected to play an amazing shot off the side cush which sent the white ball round several angles and heading straight for the 200 hole ! The crowd gasped ... then unfortunately it just caught the black on the way in.

In the round before Bob had overhauled a first-leg 14k from Gary Powell (who had earlier beaten the World Champion) in two breaks of 9k and 6k. We also witnessed a break of 24k from Martin Cole against Mark James, but he eventually fell to Coxy - having taken a lead of 10k into the second leg.   Exciting billiards of the highest quality !

And kt beat Kev kt was 13k down in the final but his break to come and touched on 17k to secure an excellent start to the year can anyone stop him

KT beat Kevin Charlton in a great final, a few early misses for Kevin Charlton and not punished even with an early 200 hole shot from KT! Kevin Charlton then all but ran out the bar for 13.5k. Kt got the balls back doing a few 1 up splits to see the table with the last few balls! KT got to 14k with an interesting and crowd pleasing visit up the table but being the player he is got them back and made sure to touch up with enough!

Plate was won by Gerry beating Martin smith in the final!

High break Martin Cole getting over 24k even with a visit up the top was mind blowing!

Amazing effort from everyone running the event and so happy to hear so many positive feedback!

Over £200 was raised for charity for cancer research in memory of ex and current players going through the horrible illness.

Would like to mention how amazing it was to see Kevin Charlton in the final he gave it a great go and also to the new players giving the game a great go one being Melissa beach giving mark Trafford a small scare!
