Are entry forms out for the above and the over 50`s/60`s out yet, and are there provisional dates for Bournemouth.
Know it is early for these, but being in the trade I am in it is always handy to know dates in advance as I have to put them in diary at work to get the weekends off.

Mixed Pairs and Under 25s are 25th nov, no entry forms just let me know if you want to play.
I will check Bournemouth but it should be the same weekend as last year.

Put Hayley and myself in please Nige.
Regarding the Pairs in Bournemouth, the price has been printed wrong Eric told me. It is £99.50 not £97.50. So if you manage to download a form from somewhere, check the price is right (come on down) ;)

Sorry to be completely ignorant, but what mixed pairs competition is this, and where will it be held?

Thanks for that Nigel, I don't think my OH will be too keen to enter, but I will see if I can locate a suitable partner. What's the deadline for entries?
What is the format? Is it single leg or 2 leg?
What other comps happen on the same day, is it just the under 25's?

Is it single leg or 2 leg? What other comps happen on the same day, is it just the under 25's? It will be basically turn up on the day (before 11.30am) and register with me. Format depends on number of entries. Usually we have a group stage to get down to the last 8 so everyone gets at least 3 games. Matches are best of 2. Last year it was 4 groups of 6, top 2 thru to quarter finals. Under 25s is the only other comp that day

That sounds like a lot of fun, with plenty of games for all :)
I'll see if I can find someone. Failing that, I could earn Kipling tart points by making a public appeal for a partner here ;D

Nigel, who are the entrantrs to the Under 25's? Johnny So far we have Paul reece from Surrey, the 4 from Oxon above entered by Steve Ellam, I think (and will check) there will be some from the Woolvin clan. Chris Reeves and Steven Sheard are undecided as yet as to whether they want to play in the mixed pairs or under 25's. Are you interested in playing? Nigel

Also people have asked me whether there is a possibility to play in both the under 25s and the mixed pairs
I will make a decision on this at the weekend once I have looked at possible formats.
But can anyone who definitely wants to do this please let me know.

I am sorry to say I cannot allow people to play in both the under 25s and the mixed pairs next weekend.
The bottom line is that it could take 7 games to win the mixed pairs (depending on entries) and 4 games to win the under 25's. With only 8 tables available (and 10 series of play takes us to 7.30pm) it is not really feasible to allow players to play in both.
I hope this is not too inconvenient for anybody wishing to play next weekend and hope they understand the logisitical problems of playing in both.
If there is this increased level of interest in the under 25's (2 entries and 3 entries in the lst 2 years) then maybe it can be moved to another date for future years.

After all that, I've now found that I'm already committed to judge at a dressage show that day :'(
I shall try to remember to look out for this tournament date next year, along with the special ladies (which I hadn't realised was an 'open' until I was booked elsewhere)
Thank you to ninja for the kind offer, also to the person that pm'd me.

Re Over 50's and Over 60's there is nothing in the AEBBA rules regarding a cut-off date for qualification.
The only date mentioned in the AEBBA rules is that the AEBBA season starts on First September. That's a recent AGM rule change as in number 18)
18) County Team qualification. A player may choose to play for any county in which he is registered, but he cannot play for more than one in any one season. This applies to AEBBA individuals, Open and Ladies County Championships, Alternate Rules, Nbba Pub Team Competition??. Season to start on September 1st.
Any thoughts Nige??
Sav.

Hi Sav, If I understood your question right the answer, as given to me by Dave a year ago, is you must be 50/60 on 1st January, which means that for most people you have to be 51/61 to qualify :o
