This is the Sussex Mixed Doubles Captains Cup Draw.
The full draw has been done so each half of the draw is known
Round 1
D Jones v A Farmer Wright @ Albion, Brighton C Thompson v R Appleby @ Swan, Worthing ----------------------------------------------------- K Hall v P Edwards @ Brewery Tap, Brighton T Jenner v R Jeffries @ Henty, Ferring
You should see it follows that in Round 2 the winner of D.Jones v AFW plays C Thompson or R Appleby in the semi finals.
With regards to venues I have tried to make them as neutral as possible and also give you all a chance to play tables you wouldn't normally play. If however you are not inclined to travel too far please arrange an easier venue with your opponent and let me know of the chnaged venue with the result so I don't give out the same venue in a later round.
Please try and arrange games as quickly as possible but I will set a deadline of 31 May 2008 for the round 1 games. I will update the draw as I get results so we can get on with the semi finals ASAP. If people need contact details I will PM them to you if I have them.
Good luck everyone

Aunty Ros v tommo is booked for next Sunday (25th May) at the Swan (8.30). This game was indeed played last night and tommo won by a sheep-skin noseband. 8-) After a relatively comfortable first leg, tommo got a drubbing in leg two with Aunty managing a nice 2k break and leaving some awkward balls which tommo failed to clear. Some excellent fifty play put the leg out of reach. The decider was the stuff nightmares are made of, with tommo's answer to Aunty's solid opener being lost to an over-enthusiastic split shot which whipped onto the peg. Some more patient fifty potting by Aunty and tommo was almost dead and buried. But the Swan table has a generous clock and a very relieved tommo got the extra minute he craved before the bar finally went to seal a very lucky victory. Well played, Ros, that was certainly a battle ! And a big thank you to Lady H and to Ian Lelliott for scoring the games.

It was an exciting match - and what a lovely table they have at the Swan.
Many thanks to Lady H and Ian Lelliot for scoring 8-)

Richard Jeffries defeated TJ 2-0 at the Henty. Well played Richard on a good top that enabled good scores. Both games close, but the better man won.

Unlucky TJ, - the Jockster appears to be on fire at the moment.
So now it only remains for Nigel to advise us the venues for the Semi-finals.

Richard Jeffries defeated TJ 2-0 at the Henty. Well played Richard on a good top that enabled good scores. Both games close, but the better man won. A good top all round, ;D ;D and to be fair neither myself or TJ did it any real justice, ;) I lost the toss and TJ put me in first and off I popped with less than 1000, :( TJ got in straight away but struggled to find the pace on the break, I finally got in again a put away 3k + to take the first. ;D TJ started well in the second having got to grips with the break and I struggled to keep up with him, ??? finding myself 2k+ down with only small minutes left, I finally got the break back ;) and sneaked in front, TJ then left the red ball on the left edge of the black pocket as a wee tempter for the Jock man, :P which he promptly potted for the 400. :o Tj came back but the bar dropped with him needing 1000 to win. ;D ;D A good match and a great top, superb welcome from the landlord who even payed for our games, top notch!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Commiserations to TJ. :'( :P ;D l

Just a quick question, who has the winner and runner up trophies, as Andy Farmer Wright beat Jean Brackenridge for the title last year but was never given the silverware!!!

I Beat Sir Jock 2-1 last night at the Brewery Tap.
Jock won the toss and put him self in 1st, was off the table on about 1500 and then i couldn't do alot allowing jock to go back on and get the break back and played for a very calm 7.5 k break. (9k played 500(if i was lucky))
then i took the next two legs nothing special coming from myself, opend up with just over 3k in both legs then slowely added to them as the balls seemed to be running better for me than they were for jock.

Well done to the Reaper, through to yet another final. 8-)
Bad luck to the Jockster, but watch that boy go next year, as rumour has it he is soon to 'join the conservatory club'. ;)
I'm playing the Jollytallfarmer on 7th July, btw, providing I can remember to book the table.
