Quarter-final result:
Stout House A 2, Mill House Dragons 3 (at the Dun Horse)
James Norman 3790, Barry Timson 4500 Adam Kuzimski 3780, tommo 2850 Craig Preston 3610, Mick Holmwood 3560 (Craig sunk last ball 400 to win, thus putting the Stout 2-1 up.) Sam Short & Adam 2000, Margo and Mick 2790 John Tidy & Tony Clasby BP, Barry and Victoria Timson 5980
The Stout House took it to the wire and their young players showed no fear and really went for it.
An entertaining evening made all the more so by a rather obnoxious local, who insisted on sharing his philosophies with both teams, welcome or not. By the end we were baiting him a bit and the evening could easily have ended in a fight. :o :o

Dun Horse 3 Southwater B 2 Great night at Mill House. Scores later but best on the night were Spud who won the match in the first doubles & Tom Darkins with Jeff Raine hit 9470 with 2 3000 breaks. But shot of the match goes to the Giff with a fluky 220 shot with the last 2 balls to win leg 3.

FOUNTAIN 2 SOUTHWATER A 3
A close encounter at the Windmill which went right to to last moments of the last frame!
Barry 1400 - Kieth Newman* 4630 0-1
Dick Dewdney* 5440 - M Blake 1420 1-1 Foxy 1720 - Tony Franks* 5340 1-2
Foxy*/Terry Andrews 7590 - Tony Franks / Ray Manser 2860 2-2
Dick/ Barry 2060 - Kieth* / Tony Temple 2650 2-3
Dick lost a 1.2k break in the last which proved to be costly as Kieth was at the table when the bar dropped and managed to pot all but the last ball.
Thanks to The Windmill for sarnies and chips, very nice :)

Railway 4 Alfold SC 1
Not the most impressive game to be honest, not that high scoring though Garry from ASC did post over 4,000. Both teams found the table challenging!!, the poor pegs (all of them) got bruised, plus Issac Newton's Law was well and truly tested, with balls suspended over holes without falling (no joke).
Anyway well done to Mark, Mick, Chris and Steve they deserved the result, great night, very friendly and accommodating staff who provided a decent spread of sandwiches and home made chips.
Gave score card to Junky when I got back to the club so apologies for not posting them

Some of the crimes: 1. Claimed Dun Horse did not have its own team, he was trying to start one up, consisting of regulars, not ready-made teams who had moved there. :o :o 2. What were we doing there playing the table anyway, we should be playing in our own pubs, not his. 3. Persisted in playing naff music from his 'own website' on the pub's internet station - resisted any requests for some Lady Gaga. ;D 4. Chatted Victoria up in full view of her dad, also in front of his own wife (fortunately Victoria 'was amused'.) ;D 5. Got louder and louder as the evening went on: when my time came to score the last game I could not hear myself think. :o 6. Caused earlier-than-usual departure of both teams by challenging anyone to bar billiards, darts, for money. Backed down when Adam specified a game of "701 down, straight in and out". Also resisted my challenge of a game of chess (there's a giant set in the other bar) for any stake money - £100, £1000 ?
Dorsal's a pussy cat by comparison - well, a tiger shark maybe. ;)
At least we were able to have a good laugh with the opposition and bond with them over the situation. On top of everything else, the b*gger probably had all our egg sandwiches away as none were in evidence. ::) ;D 8-)

Additions to Clives comments above after The Millhouse left....
1. The offending tool @ the Dun Horse tried to convince us his name was Kenny Everitt.... (turns out it was Terry) 2. The same tool squared up to me a few times but soon walked after I was not intimidated by him or his stinking breath..!! 3. The same tool did not care for his local pub at all after costing the Landlords a good few sales over the bar as everyone just wanted to leave because of him. 4. I could go on but the same tool is not worth my time!!!
TO THE BILLIARDS....
Thommo has put the scores up and all games were very close, we thoroughly enjoyed The Millhouse's company, the banter & the good Billiards played by all. We wish you all the best to go on & win the Cup!

We (Stout House A) would also like to say we have no Beef with The Dunhorse, it was just an unfortunate customer who ruined a very enjoyable night. We would also like to Thank the very nice Barman who took the time to pop into the pub & apologise to our landlord Barry on behalf of The Dunhorse. This speaks volume of the wonderful people we always like to see again when we go up there for a game.

We (the Mill House) second that sentiment. Dun Horse is normally a good venue for bar billiards, a great bunch of players and a good, honest table.
I think the landlord is the white haired chap who was sitting forlornly on a stool in the corner. He was probably more embarrassed than any of us.
Ah well, it's all water under the bridge now. :-/

Thanks Tommo & Adam for the kind words. I know exactly who your talking about he is a pain in the rear. Tommo your on the wrong track that person is Roger a regular, doubt you will see Mo as he is in a nursing home. Sounds like your all dealt with him well & had a laugh.

Stout House Z 1, Mill House Dragons 4 (Semi-final played at Southwater SC)
No, we can't believe it either as the current Billingshurst league champions rolled over and let us tickle their bellies. A case of scores kept one side but lost on the other - Rick being particularly profligate.
*Richard Plaw 2880, Graham Daniels 7800 Rick Langridge 2470, *tommo 5240 *Andy 'Dorsal' Finn 3740, Mick Holmwood 1180 Richard Plaw & John Miller 1130, *Graham Daniels & Victoria Timson 6700 *Andy Finn & Rick Langridge 1650, tommo & Margo 3870
Thanks to the club for providing sandwiches, unexpected and welcome. Dragons captain now faces a selection nightmare for the Final with the holidaying Barry back. 8-)
