Well, it has been a while since I last had to update this thread but then.... just like buses.... along come two new members of the Sussex 20k Club within the same season! Since this thread obviously deals with an important part of the "history" of Sussex County Bar Billiards, I thought it might be nice to explain how and why these awards came into being in the first place so, in the words of Steve Mariner this is how it started.... In late 1992 Steve Mariner and Julian Deeprose got talking about 20k breaks. Although a regular occurrence in other Counties, it was still a rarity to see a 20k break in Sussex. In fact at that time, and to my knowledge, only Steve & Julian had made a 20k break in a match. So the two of them decided as from 1993 they would award a bright red 20k shirt to any Sussex player who could achieve a 20k break in any match. Below are the current list of players, breaks and dates when they first passed that 20k break barrier. So our thanks should go to Steve and Julian for starting the award, Kevin Hall who took over sponsorship of the shirts while he was Chairman of SCBBA and to Sussex County Bar Billiards themselves who now provide the shirts for new members of the 20k Club. The 2017/18 season has given us 2 new members of the Sussex Exclusive 20k Club, both of these players have shown terrific improvement during the last couple of seasons. Joe Oakley was the first to reach this milestone with a break of 20,040 during a Littlehampton League game at The Swan in Worthing on 19th December 2017. Stuart Carruthers then added his name to the records with a break of 20,220 (against the break) in a Horsham League match at Roffey Club on 6th March 2018. thank you Dave excellent post with very good history!!!

It should have been 16 A masters and 8 B masters as we lack entries every year and people are just going in to fill gaps and it takes the whole '' masters '' out of context?
