As mentioned at the recent AGM, the Mid-Sussex Website is now up and running in it's temporary home on the Sussex Website....
[Edit - you can now access the SCBBA website by simply clicking underneath the little house on the left beneath my avatar]
There is a link at the bottom left hand corner of the page to Mid-Sussex that will then take you through to records showing Averages, League Tables and Competition Winners for as far back as records are currently available.
If anybody has details of the following missing information, please could they contact me.....
Player Averages (before 1999/2000 Season) League Tables (before 2001/02 Season)
Perhaps Trophy Winners could also have a look at their cups and let me have details of winners / runners-up in the following competitions:-
Team Cup Runners-Up Team Plate Runners-Up Premier Player of the Year & Runner-Up Division 1 Player of the Year & Runner-Up Charity Cup Winners & Runners-Up Mens Singles Runner-Up Division 1 Singles Winner & Runner-Up Ladies Singles Runner-Up Senior Singles Winner & Runner-Up Open Doubles Runners-Up Mixed Doubles Runners-Up Mens Highest Away Break Mens Highest Away Score Ladies Highest Away Break Ladies Highest Away Score
If anybody is able to assist with any of the missing information, it would be much appreciated...... 8-)
Many thanks to the Old Fella and Tommo who provided much of the information shown so far, also to Lorraine and IanG who were kind enough to send me details of previous winners of the trophies they won this season..... ;D ;D

Looking good already, BB Warrior. ;D If anybody has details of the following missing information, please could they contact me..... Player Averages (before 1999/2000 Season) League Tables (before 2001/02 Season) I can supply you with final League Tables from 1981/82 up to and including 1996/97 (when the Zeds went off to play in the Billingshurst League). I also have Charity League tables dating back to when the competition started, in 1992/93. The first 'Average List' I have dates from a year earlier, and was just a Top Ten from each division.

Thank you very much Mr President, that would be great if you could send those to me! ;D If the averages only cover the top 10 from each division, I wouldn't really be able to incorporate those into the "overall averages" that are on the website as it wouldn't truly reflect everybody's records...... but it would still be good to have as part of the overall history for the League. 8-)

I haven't heard of Cyril & Kevin O'Prey..... any idea who they played for?

It would be Ros Rees and Trevor Rees.
Cyril and Kevin O'Prey were a father and son who played for the Ugly Duckling A. There was also a daughter who played, called Bernadette, who later became Mrs Tupper !

Mixed Runners up were Applby and not Rees. The score was 2-1. Thought Bernie was Tupper before O'Prey. Dave, I have gone through life with an absolute determination to underachieve. This means it is far easier to remember my successes. Can remember a highest break against Richard Deadman, and a Highest score against Tommo(he had the current highest score at the time),this was before I had to resort to being a bully, and the odd player of the year. Do not know where my trophies are, or if I still have them. If I can find them I will give you the dates. exprez

The first ever inter league c division was in 1978/9, and was won by Crawley C. It was mainly a team of young guns. At least 2 of the players still play in Mid Sussex, Alan Downes and the precossious young captain.

Thought Bernie was Tupper before O'Prey. D'you know, I can't remember now. :-/ Will have to try and get it from the 'horse's mouth' as it were. Tupps is quite approachable.

Mid Sussex A actually managed runners-up once in the flagship event, the One-Day Interleague, in 1985/86. Gerry Smith was the Captain, and we lost to Littlehampton in the Final.

It was the last match of the season. The Prince of Wales had crushed everyone they played, secured promotion to the top flight, and won the league. They were playing the Rocket. The rocket won because the POW fielded a team of WAGS. Think that was the first time I met Bernie. This was the season before you first played in Crawley, which makes it a long time ago. Shaun

edit: sorry but have just noticed that 2005/6 & 2006/7 are missing, and don't know why.
2nd edit: panic over as have found them, so my archive is complete again :D

Shaun You must be right. Ah the Prince of Wales. Tupper/Lewes/Elliott/Leeson and Stuart Peyton the landlord's son. Only time ever that bar billiards was played in East Grinstead. Remember arriving to play there for the first time and Margo insisted I had got the wrong pub as from its sign it was obviously the "Three Feathers". Played a very fast and flamboyant teenager called Dave Evans there in the Team Knockout, and beat him with some slow deliberate play. He's played like a snail ever since. :o :o :o ;D

The website has now been updated to show League Tables, Player Averages and Individual Winners for every year back to 1996/97 Season, together with the Overall Player Averages for the same period.
I am still missing a few bits of information (mainly individual trophy winners & runners-up) so if anybody could help to fill in these gaps it would be much appreciated...... ???
Many thanks to Tommo, Sparky, Q, The OldFella and Mama Hall for the information that they have sent me, which has enabled me to produce the records so far. 8-) ;D

The (temporary) Mid-Sussex Website has now been updated to include..... League Fixtures for the current season. Charity Cup Fixtures together with Results & Tables for the matches played so far.... including Series 4 Results shown here on the Forum. ;) Team Knock-Out Cup Draw. To view these, first go to... www.sussexbarbilliards.comNear the bottom of the home page, under the "Links" section you will see "Mid-Sussex Bar Billiards League".... click on this. Click on current season which will take you to a new page. If you then click on any of the titles that are blue and underlined, it should open up the relevant page. Apologies to any non-technophobes for providing an idiot guide, I try to make things easy so that I can understand them!! ::) Hopefully, in the fairly near future we will have our own stand alone website which will contain all of the information. 8-)

Hopefully, in the fairly near future we will have our own stand alone website which will contain all of the information. 8-) Won't be too long now, hopefully. :-/ We now have our own domain, although the new website doesn't appear yet as it takes 48 hours after 'publication' to appear on the net. I will then need a couple of weeks to transfer over all of Dave's information. Should be completely up and running for the second half of the season ! 8-)

Ok guys, first impressions are favourable which is a relief. :-* Dave is kindly going to pay me a visit at the weekend to introduce me to HTML and get me up to speed with any transfers from his archives that remain to be tackled. 8-) In the meantime I will be working on smartening up the design, and here are some of the improvements I have in mind: - A better title header - include a league badge ?
- Add a hit counter
- Replace "Products" "Resources"and "Shop" with "Photo gallery" "Hall of Fame" and a page for sister leagues.
- "Contact us" will retain the facility for eMail contact (world-wide !) but also contain a link to other sites ('friends of MSBBL') and a list of our Officials.
- All Dave's past records will be fed into either 'Hall of Fame', 'Current Season', 'League Fixtures/Results' and 'Competition Fixtures/Results'
- Finally, News will contain the 'latest' that concerns our league, a forward calendar of events, and archive of Roy's weekly newsletters.
- And 'About us' will contain a list of League venues together with addresses and pictures where available. A map will be included showing the sphere of influence of our League within the county.
As Dave hints, there is much work to be done ! :o

NEW !
Try the 'Current Season' tab.
I have entered a diary of League members' successes for the whole year.
I have been experimenting with Java Script, and at present it looks like ticker-tape, but will edit it before the next publication.
