Dave and I had a 'summit' meeting yesterday, and all the information has been passed across but will have to be formatted before publication, which could take a while..............
Meanwhile I have been working on the photo gallery page to make it show a list of 'live' venues (info taken from Bernie's thread on here) and I am looking to add a few pictures underneath !

To use anatomical terms, the complete skeleton is now formed; vital organs to be inserted (= working links); and finally meat to be put on the bones in the form of all Dave's prepared data. :)
Full publication on schedule for some time over Christmas. 8-)
Until then, Dave has kindly agreed to maintain his website page alongside 'ours'.

Big strides forward today, have spent all day on it. :o
Discovered quick method to post all the information across without using FrontPage/HTML.
I can now see all the information in place myself, but others can't yet, as buttons 10 to 20 are 'invisible'.
So apart from these 'missing links' it's all there. 8-)

Check out the news tab..................I have inserted notes of any huge league scores as they happened, to provide a better flavour for last season.
Once we've entered the new year, I'll divided it so we get a full season's news year by year, and will add the good scores from this season.
Archives will appear (via the buttons) once that my hosting consultant has shown me the trick. :-/
Meanwhile I'll consider any requests or improvement suggestions that might help me to give you exactly what you all want ! 8-)

Okay, the design's not perfect, but near as dammit ! ;D
Can't get the press buttons to work yet, but if you follow the instructions on the relevant page, you can access all the information on Pages 11 to 20 by simply putting in the Page number and .html after the web address at the top of your screens.
I have some smartening up to do on these additional pages, and haven't quite loaded all of the archives yet, but it should all start to make better sense in time. :-/
Also the Horsham page is not live yet, I have to dig out the file that Ian sent me a while back.
I would like to help Dave Ingram for his invaluable help, without which something like this would still be a year away !
For a quick link to the new website: Click on the little house under my avatar, on the left. ;)

I have filtered into the News blog the highest scores from last year and this year, as they have more relevance to people at the grass roots level (ie who don't enter County or National competitions).
Also, extra pages of Archive have been added today up to Page 27 which can all be accessed via the method described earlier.
Perhaps IanG would like to re-send me his updated Horsham Hall of Fame spreadsheet as it will be easier to work with the latest information: this will eventually comprise Page 28.
Any queries on the data, please let me know.

Nearly there now, I'd say about 95%.
Just been working on Pages 17 and 18:
P17 (Roll of Honour) now shows a full record by the year, commencing 1981 (nearly 30-years' worth of records ! :o) as well as each individual competition's winners in order, as they read off each cup.
P18 now shows a full set of Final League tables 8-) for the same 28-year period, with the All-time-record scores tagged on the end.
All the above was compiled by BB Warrior, with help from a few people who are credited on the Hall of Fame index page. I may yet copy his exact design and put each year together with a) Final League table; b) Competition Winners and c) Final Players' Averages, but that is a project for the future.............
At present I feel I have taken everything across that I can, and Dave can comply with the SCBBA mandate a couple of months early ! (suggest at the year end).
Gaps: I have a couple of Spare pages left, and apart from adding Ian's Horsham Roll of Honour, I intend to devote a page to the Charity League. Dave has given me the files for the last two years, and I have records of my own dating right back to the start of it, but may need to enlist Roy's help on the three years when the Zeds absented themselves (around the turn of the century). I would also like to do some research on Mid Sussex's participation in Sussex Interleague, but that is a whole new can of worms and probably too much of a challenge for just one person !
Finally, one blemish: No averages appear for the two seasons 1994/95 and 1995/96. Anyone got them handy ? :D

Okay I've now managed to get all three sets of links working: - Onthe About Us page the quick links to our 'neighbouring' leagues' websites;
- On the Photo Gallery page there is a rapid link in to Hostelries' own websites, and all other information is up to date;
- And the navigation to the Archive Pages has been made much simpler.
Have also added two pages on the Charity League, and have set myself the task of researching back history of this competition sometime in the New Year. As well as a general 'Tarting Up' of the web pages !Finally I've delivered on my promise, albeit 2 years late, but hope that you all think that it was worth the wait: Let me know if you don't, and I'll get my coat ! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ok, I've now applied the final touches to it, and apart from the research which I still have to do on past history of the Charity League you can now see the Website in its completed state. www.mid-sussexbbl.co.uk/Recent additions which may be of interest: - Dates for Mid Sussex's next committee meeting; Finals night, AGM.
- Mid Sussex teams' involvement in SCBBA Interleague (Tables, Player averages, etc). Many thanks to Dave Ingram for the research on this.
Horsham pages:
- League records going back as far as 1963.
- A quick link to a website showing pubs in the Horsham District.
The website is bulging somewhat and I daren't add too much more for risk of losing information already entered. (Had a scare yesterday and some data got corrupted, but fortunately I was able to restore using the back-up - which took the hit counter from over 100 back to zero). So the only way to include extra records for Horsham such as the Averages which I have (dating back to when we first compiled them in 1981) and Horsham's involvement in Interleague would be for it to have its own website - for which (assuming they wanted it) someone would have to purchase a domain..........

BT stlll?? Okay Bernie, you've rumbled me. ;D I do have sufficient webspace for 4 websites and would only have to pay a nominal fee for extra domain names............so I was trying to play hard to get. ;) But farbeit from me to seize ownership of something like HDBBL.com before the Horsham committee have had a chance to rubber-stamp a website. Sparky and Ian are going to unveil the current pages (which I have worked jolly hard on, incidentally) to the Horsham committee and players and see what the reaction is first. If the reaction is better than lukewarm, and I am given the go-ahead, then the follow-on stage could happen sooner rather than later. with BT's facilities, by the way. The website has been created without any annoying stupid adverts, and I have just taken out an arrangement with them for 'go anywhere' Broadband, so I might start carrying my laptop around to events, in order to give a quick 'demo' to anyone who is interested in acquainting themselves with the joys of the Forum !

Dave has suggested that a set of MSBBL Rules of Constitution might be beneficial.
I have now added a page which is accessible via the "About Us" tag.
As an afterthought I will also put a link to SCBBA and All-England Playing Rules.

Nice one Clive, great idea about the 'travelling salesman' job ;D
I appreciate how time consuming it is putting together a website, but I also know how addictive it is to keep adding and perfecting it, well done

Well, I've tried to give others credit where I've felt it's due, as it's not only me who's had an input: You will see that you have been credited with providing the list of the pubs, addresses, telephone numbers, websites, etc.
And our Secretary Jenny had made it very easy for me to add our Rules by emailing electronic copies at the start of the season.
I'd also like to think that we have found a worthy use for Dave's (BBW's) energies and analytical skills, and quite honestly I couldn't have got this far without him.
The challenge now will be in keeping it all up to date, and I have asked Dave to give me a nudge where necessary !

Click on the little house beneath my Avatar for a rapid link in. Just to say that as a temporary measure, clicking on the 'little house' will take you to one of the new Horsham or Billingshurst sites while I am constructing them. But you can still get a rapid link in to Mid Sussex by clicking on the house under Margo's avatar instead.

Ros has sent me a full update on Mens Highest Break past winners going back to 1961/62.
I have met with Steve King and he's also been able to give me some past history pre-1980.
And I've just turned up an old Finals Night programme from 1981/82.
All this information has been collated and will be included in the Hall of Fame section with the next update.
Anyone who is able to come up with any missing years' winners by reading off the perpetual cups just awarded, please get in touch.
Thanks, tommo.
