Had a bit of luck with these three 'previously missing' years' averages turning up:
1990/91 1994/95 1995/96
So these are now included on the website, and some more 'Hall of Fame' gaps have been plugged. 8-)

Have made a slight revamp to the website, so it might look a bit strange until it regenerates fully (can take up to 24 hours).

Amongst the shuffling performed recently I have managed to separate the Summer League and put it all on one page...........
Have also done much research on Interleague and separated it away from Hall of Fame and given it its own page with 5 sub-pages for Home/Away (pre- and post-2000); One-Day (pre- and post-2000) and Ladies' Interleague.
Apart from the Ladies, for which I have found records dating back 30 years, the furthest I have been able to go back is 1989/1990, so if anyone has kept any records of Mid Sussex Interleague prior to that date I will be glad to add them.

The first captain I can remember was Gerry Smith(early 80s). Can not remember him carrying the 'note book', however if you wish to check with him I have his address. I know Graham Lewis did the job because I can remember asking him if I was to go for the 100 or 200 when exactly 100 behind. This may have been a one off or a season. He's the kind of chap who would have kept a note book. The only other captain I can remember from this era was Peter Heasman. Can remember most of the Mid-Sussex personal from that era, but have no statistics. Do remember getting arrested in an away match against Billingshurst, much to the amussment of Mick Roberts and co. Thanks Shaun,
Yes from my own comprehensive records I managed to find scorecards from that era, and mention of those players can be found on sub-pages 30 (Home/away) and 32 (One-Day event).
What I'm now looking to research is late 70s/early-mid 80s when Tim Peacock was Interleague captain.

All a big misunderstanding. Went to a party on Saturday night and a birthday party in Hurst Sunday lunchtime. Arrived home at my flat to find team waiting, nipped in and grabbed my cue. When we arrived at the pub in Billingshurst I was bought a pint of bitter. When I took the first gulp I realised I was 'full up'. Was drawn 6th or 7th, so decided a sleep was in order. Borrowed the car keys of the driver, settled my self in the drivers seat with the keys clutched to my chest. Was very rudely awoken by two policemen hauling me out of the car. Was not happy about this and asked them what the hell they thought they were doing. They explained to me that I was sitting in the drivers seat of a car, in persesion of the keys, and I was clearly drunk, all of which was bad news for me. I explained the situation, and the fact that I had never driven a car in my life, and would not know how to start it. They seemed to like my story and it was all going fine until I was asked who owned the car. I gave them the name of the driver. A radio call was made after which I was arrested. As I was being read my rights I looked at the pub to see if anyone was going to come and help me. Saw Mick Roberts laughing his socks off, which reminded me that he had lent his car to Steve(gink)King to drive. Was able to give the proper owner of the car. Eventually they took pity on me, and I was allowed back into the pub on the understanding I handed the keys over to the owner or the driver. I know I won my game, because at the next match I was taken aside by skipper Gerry Smith, who had not played at Billingshurst. He told me that the fact that I had won was the only thing that had kept me in the team, and that I was to turn up in a reasonable state to all future matches. Advice I took to heart.

- Hall of Fame updates on Pages 15,20,26,27,28 & 29.
One thing I could do with, though, to counter hard stats and thus bring things to life, is some photos - particularly of the Brewers and Eight Bells contingents. So if any snaps were taken on Finals Night, please drop me an e-mail. If none are forthcoming I will bring my camera along with me to the Brewers Open on 23rd July.

Hi Tommo, I think Bob Hall won the speed break competition :) Is the saying "lost in translation" relevant here ? >:( This is what I had to go on: i will post all results tomorrow as a late night tonight but well done to all winners and runners up for making such a great night heres a quick insight. H won it all but the team lost the plate. the underdogs won the main but jan never lost a leg so cleaned up. boball kept the world champs off reaching the speed break score. master bateup is his name and he wins the trophy to go with his title. thats all for now goodnight I will action the amendment but require clarification first.

*Announcement* For a couple of months now the Mid-Sussex website has resembled something of a swiss cheese, with half its pages missing. Fortunately for me, only one person seems to have noticed (thanks Neil !) - as I suppose there isn't much cause to visit in the close season.
This seemed to happen when my service provider changed its portals, some of my data was lost during the migration: I have been battling BT ever since to restore it to an earlier moment in time.
Finally yesterday I was able to speak to someone with a full grasp of the situation, and the upshot is that the design wizard I used four years ago has been rendered obsolete, is no longer supported and will shortly be phased out completely. All users were supposed to have been forewarned, but somehow I seem to have been missed.....
I have no alternative than to go for a complete re-design, using Easysite Pro-Plus, which they say will be a much slicker arrangement, more easy to maintain and with full technical support.
This means that I will be busy over the next couple of weeks, so please bear with me. During this time the 'old' site will still be maintained, but not all the links may work. Again, fortunately, I have most of the missing files available in backup and should be able to restore the website to something like 98%. (At present, the Roll of Honour, Charity League, Interleague records and some of the league tables and players' averages are not visible).
Apologies for this temporary loss of service, but hopefully the website will be restored as faithful as possible to the original - a bit like Proboards itself when it moved on to Version 5.

*Problems* Following on from the previous announcement, I thought I’d provide an update on the current position regarding the website, and also give an insight into what is involved: As you know, it went a bit awry in July, and it took a couple of months to get to the root of the problem with my service provider: the website was unwieldy and part of it fell away when they reduced the number of management tools being supported and maintained. (Example: no new pages can now be added).
The new design wizard which I was advised to use has turned out to be all style and little substance, and over-fussy to use. Progress has therefore been slow as things don’t follow the same pattern as before. I have struggled with it for a month and have the building blocks in place, but have developed an extreme aversion to the new concept of CSS (= Cascading Style Sheets).
At this point I would say that not all new releases of software turn out to be popular with the general public……Microsoft’s operating systems being an example: Windows XP had some features which were lost to the next upgrade, Windows Vista (eg “Front Page” web management) and I really struggled with its new Office Manager. Windows 7 turned out to be a vast improvement but the general consensus seems to be that Windows 8 is another step backwards.
My main problem really has been the withdrawal of a user-friendly ‘blank page’ that will accept a large Word document or Excel spreadsheet, and automatically convert it into a webpage by framing it with suitable html text. This is simply not available with the new wizard, and as most of the missing parts from before were large files, what guarantee was there that the same thing wouldn’t happen again ?
So, three problems for me: 1. A rubbish design that takes six times as long to do, and doesn’t give me all the facilities I had before. 2. Recovery of all the missing files. 3. Finding a neater arrangement when putting them back, so that the same thing doesn’t happen again !
The conclusion I reached was that I would try and continue with the existing website for as long as possible, and for now just concentrate on data recovery and research the best method for loading the files back on.
In case you were wondering, these are the pages which are currently ‘lost or missing’; P8 (on the Menu): County/Interleague Pp 13 – 14 Archived News, 2010/11 & 2011/12 P18 Roll of Honour dating back 40 years P20 Final League tables, 1991-2013 P26 Player averages, 2008-2012 P27 Player averages, 2012-2013 P34 Cup competitions 2010/11 incl. 3rd Masters P35 Cup competitions 2011/12 incl. 4th Masters P36 Cup competitions 2012/13 incl. 5th & 6th Masters P37 Charity Cup 1992-2001 inclusive P38 Charity League 2001-2010 Pp 40 – 41 Home/Away Interleague Pp 42 – 43 One Day Interleague Pp 44 – 45 Ladies Interleague P46 County exploits Pp 47 - 48 Summer League, 2010 & 2011

*Solutions* Dealing first with Problem 1) I found it advisable to do a bit of research on the ‘Net and studied several tutorials that exist on YouTube where they demonstrate for free how to use the likes of Dreamweaver. So I’m well up now on the theory, and know how to put links in to make any new website interactive – when the time comes !
Problem 2) is rather more complicated, and you may recall I said that I would only be able to restore 98% of the files. The complication lies in the fact that half of the files are backed up on this lap-top and the other half on my previous one which blew up ! (well the liquid crystal display went into meltdown – don’t use your laptop in the garden, I think I got an ants nest inside mine !) One page could not be accounted for, this was the report on the visit to Northants which I wasn’t convinced I’d kept a copy of. Well, yesterday I managed after a considerable struggle (the old laptop will still work, but only if the lid is opened to an angle of about 10 degrees !) to retrieve the two Cup Result files 2010/11 and 2011/12 and 37 files covering news for the same period. And I even tracked down the Northants file! These are now on a memory stick so you will get your website back 100%.
For Problem 3) I have recently made a quantum leap forward………….The solution, which had been staring me in the face for some time, was to take out an account for Google Drive. This allows you to save files of either type – Word Document or Excel Spreadsheet – for free, and then turn them into web pages when you are ready. And then go on to publish, producing a URL address which I can then reference as a link on the relevant Mid Sussex web page, which hopefully will make it work exactly as before ! So that is what I will be working on over the next few weeks. When I do the load up, I will have to import any images separately, which will require a little extra effort, but at least now after all the frustrations of the last couple of months I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Tommo, I would like to thank you for all the amazing work that you put into all three websites and can only guess at the time and effort it has taken you, and no doubt frustration or annoyance at times. I hope a few more people start to realise what you do freely on their behalf, or perhaps I should say for their benefit

Thanks, Graham, for the sentiment. Unfortunately some of the problems have been of my own making (putting my trust in a huge organisation with most of its expertise based in the U.S.) It has proved more beneficial for me to find my own solutions, which don't always present themselves right away and I often go around mulling things over for days on end before having a "Eureka moment".
I have the utmost respect for all other 'webbies' on here - Sav, Warrior, Nigel, Barbelman, BigTJ, Ric B. to name but a few - who I'm sure have encountered their own particular set of problems before overcoming them. And some of the new websites put up by the youngsters like Luke (Guernsey) Sandy (Hastings) and Tiny (Northants) so quickly are particularly impressive.
