That's right folks, after nearly 20 years there will be again a table in this old town (apart from the one i had at home), the landlord of the Court House Inn told me last night that it will be in by Wednesday, Sir Ken Hussey will be the supplier :D. So a short walk for a pint and a game, marvellous. There is a lot of interest, the landlord is dead keen :D
Right where's my passport :-/

Congratulations, Ian, that is what counts as really exciting news.
Thought we were going to get a new venue here locally in Crawley (the Mill House) but the table they got in had a few too many problems (broken timer etc) and they got rid of it before we even got to get a game on it. One day maybe...........
In the meantime I play for two clubs, one 11 miles due north and one 6 miles due south of where I live.
Good luck in getting bar billiards in Thrapston off the ground. 8-)

Always good to see new tables :D but does that mean we lose a team at the Cons..........or is Lord Lolly of Letchworth putting in a side to compete against you country bumkins ::)............and is your landlord capable of making beetroot sandwiches to the standard to which we have become accustomed ;D

Had a go on it last night, it' going to be moved to a better playing position, the whole games room is going to be re jigged, the light canopy is yet to be put up, have to say it's a nice top, when it gets in it's final position it'll be a corker, even now it's a good 10k table :D

The table plays very well indeed and big scores are easily gettable. I am looking for players to arrange a friendly to repay the Landlord.

I'm not sure which would be the better night as all Mondays are taken up now, The Exiles were up for a Friday night as this is the night they normally go out to practice, but Fridays can be busy especially the pool table. I reckon a Saturday could be better. Maybe we should do a poll.

Sounds to me like an ideal opportunity for a "Kipling Challenge". A North v South Saturday night Team match.
I'm sure Sparky would be up for it and maybe the BB Reaper and we could muster up three others to make it 6-a-side.
Each side to provide a packet of Cherry Bakewells as a stake, and winners take all. Or if it's 3-3 the spoils are divided.
Something different to do on a Saturday night, and it shouldn't take much more than a couple of hours to get up to Thrapston.
Now that would impress your landlord !
