Doesn't really matter what it's called. It's always been an independent comp and it was actually started by my dad. I took over running it after a couple of years. It's open to all teams in the area but doesn't have a link to any one particular league

Unfortunately this clashes with Isfest weekend which I am involved in with the band so I can't make it. Was hoping I would be able to but nevermind.

No food at the Hassocks tonight. Very poor considering most of us go out of our way to make sure teams are catered for Sorry about this H. As you know I did make it clear on the email and on here but the message it seems didn't get through... I do chase venues myself but only really the ones I am familiar with and don't feel that the organisers should do it as there is plenty of other stuff to do Thanks Matt. Not your responsibility at all. Nevermind. Laughing Fish 5 - 1 Bevy *Jim Ashford 2800 - 490 Kev H 1840 - 3970 Brian* *Jamie Hall 2250 - 780 Lauryn Andy Brooks 2290 - 1160 Ash* *H & Jim 4050 - 3930 Brian & Ash Andy & Jamie 830 - 760 Lana & Natalie* Despite losing and the lack of food, we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening with a really decent bunch of people

The arrangement for the last two years, which has been made very clear, is that the captain of the venue that is drawn is responsible for food being organised...

Laughing Fish 6 - 0 Hassocks

Laughing Fish 2 - 4 Blacksmiths
* Ray Carpenter 1460 - 4650 Colin Southouse Jopesh Carpenter 10 - 3330 Darren Newnham * * Andy Brooks 1300 - 2900 Mike Daw H 8800 - 700 Dave Knight *
* Ray & Joseph 1050 - 1870 Dave & Mike H & Andy 5130 - 1810 Colin & Darren *
Games 1, 2 and 5 were played first as what would normally be a steady Monday evening turned into a friday night and we dont have enough staff on to cope with those number unexpectedly meaning both the old man and myself had to dive in for a couple of hours. As a consequence we missed all of those games. I can only really report on my own games with me seemingly having the run of the balls.
Nonetheless a very enjoyable evening in a heaving pub and well done to the Blacksmiths on their win!

Ive done the table at the fish myself. Tarratts have taken the "not worth the effort" stance and are telling people it cant be done.

I beat Martin Smith 2-1 at the Tarring Club this evening. Table was fine on the break but very tricky at the back. Match came down to who had the luck in getting the break back.

Well done Keith! Lovely to see you do the business. Despite a struggle (albeit I was happy with how we both played) on a table 9, it was a great day. Thanks to Mark for all his hard work and it was lovely to make an open for the first time in years despite not getting very far.

I won 2-0 against Chris this evening. He was unlucky to lose a number of breaks. The Albion of Wellington table playing pretty well still with its usual quirks.
In other news, Martin Smith beat Joe Oakley 2-0 at the Romans.

I beat James Whittle 2-0 at the Railway Club this evening. Table was tricky but better than previously. I had the run of luck, James battled hard and deserved a little more

Hospital Club 2 - 3 Laughing Fish W Peter Payne (0pt) 1730 3210 Ray Carpenter (1pt) Tony Smith (1pt) 1850 1130 Joseph Carpenter (0pt) Fred Pope (1pt) 1570 0 Jim Ashford (0pt) James Bown (0pt) 1610 5800 Darren Newnham (1pt) Mike Reilly (0pt) 1150 11910 Henry Brooks (1pt)
Fun and enjoyable evening at the Hospital Club. Table looked quirky and tough as some struggled up the back, but it was perfectly playable. Jim was unlucky to peg a winning break as the bar dropped, leaving him needing the 200 to win, at which point he sadly felled the black peg.
