Berinsfield 4-1 comrades
Will post card sometime over weekend
I would also like to add that I am pulling out of all comps because of my work Phil mcfaland can go through in the never won cup I beat him In Adam Ingram can replace me in the threes mark Trafford can have the comitee cup game because I'm also coming off the comittie and to top it off I would like to avoide inter area selection next year as I am giving the game up at the end of the season I have no interest anymore and it Seems you can't say anything without someone bitchng or getting upset even if your only giving an opinion and no this is not aimed at anyone In particular

Well you played in the league last year, you knew the rules. Why didn't you propose it at the AGM? because i couldn't make the AGM

Its to give teams in section 2 more of a chance against the top players. in a cup it shouldn't happen in league it's fine

I am going to remain calm on this thread unlike some of the previous comments! There has not been a rule change the knock out cup was run the same way last year. As always comments are appreciated and recommendations welcomed but as far as I am concerned if people do not turn up at the AGM how can they expect to get their point across and raise issues that they have, the only people who attended the last AGM where those members of the committee. The simple fact is that people continue to moan about this and that and never actually turn up at the appropriate time to voice their opinions or try to make a difference it is far easier to just moan about it. To be honest I have just about had enough of this most thankless of tasks and if someone else wants to take their turn then by all means come along to the next committee meeting. I am quite happy to resign as secretary and then they can take over with immediate effect or with a handover during September and October if they would rather. The next meeting was due to be on 3/10 but given the late withdrawl of the Horse and Harrow team and the prospect of the remaining players joining the Didcot Con Club A I have been trying to rearrange this meeting for next Thursday 27/9 but unfortunately as this clashes with the oxford league this now seems unlikely (it doesn't seem to matter arranging games for Mondays on a Wallingford League night) but hey ho! The simple fact is everyone moans about something but no-one wants to do anything so here is your chance if you want it replace me at the next meeting I will publish the date of the meeting on here as soon as I have a suitable date from Dave Tooke. >:( its not the whole rule that has to come out its more the fact its in a knockout cup that's the annoying part say a section 1 team got to the final they have to give 4 breaks away in the final surely this can be changed

There first match was a bye therfore they won A bye is not a game neither in anyway shape or form does it count as a game its simply a free pass to the next round i think its unfair that we don't get to go into the plate if we loose why should we not get the same chance as everyone else.

I do not play in this league - although i may have had a team this year, but didn't see any forms, but that is another issue! Craig - did you go to the AGM to put a point across on this point? No good disagreeing if you don't go to the AGM? Phil - to be fair, whatever the format, this could always happen, could it not ? there was a rule changed at the end of the summer league this year so its about time another one got changed and as i said we where all shocked when we found out we had to give 4 breaks away in a cup because it wasn't like that last year

After a very and i mean very lucky win at the four horseshoes tonight it has come to the attention of our team and probably many others why the hell should a section 1 team give away 4 breaks in a cup match on a neutral i'm not saying this because we almost lost tonight because we where very lucky but i fail to see how premier section teams can go to a neutral venue and play lower league teams in a cup giving 4 breaks away. fair enough in the league understandable but in a cup no it should remain both teams get 2 break with the last game being equal timed regardless of the teams playing its utter rubbish i'm not trophy grabbing but the top teams want to assert themselves it needs to be changed for the knockout cups.

:( This is exactly why the lower teams will not play in a league where we have to play the premiere or section one teams. :( :'( Simon 11080 v Graham 830 Simon 15520 PTO v Graham Nuf said. Im with you there dick that's not really fair on the lower league player no need to play the table out

You say that you have "paid" to enter this competition, but correct me if i am wrong, when you enter the league it stipulates free entry into the KO cups ? Scotland ash is a form of knockout cup with a plate area in it as well it states on entry form that you will be enterd into both the Scotland ash and the team knockout cup

I agree with you Craig that the rules do state that you should go into the plate, but the problem is that you will have to play down to the final of the main competition before you start the plate and i do not know if there is going to be time to do that. i'm sure something could be worked out but as i said before we have paid entry so why should we be excluded from the plate if we loose you could always have it that glads A play Marlborough get rid of the byes then we enter plate if we loose in semis seeing as there will only be 3 teams in the plate semi we play the 3rd team who should have the bye to make it 4 teams in plate if we magically win the semi in the cup the team in the plate with the bye go through to final

What is the difference between one bye or many bye's unless you have an even number there has to be a bye so either way not everyone will play. Delboy says everyone has to enter well they do enter along with the relevant number of bye's to get to the correct multiple of 1,2,4,8 etc - they are still in the draw and correct me if I am wrong but that would comply with the rules of entering all teams into the draw What I meant was the competition has to start with all teams & no prelims to even it up at the beginning And what i'm saying is its unfair if Berinsfield miss the opportunity to enter plate if we loose our 1st game in this cup we didn't exactly ask for the bye's plus we paid competition entry fees to be given an equal chance so sorry this is totally unfair

Hi Craig the answer is no it is the luck of the draw and the plate will have played rounds already This seems hardly fair seeing as we have not had a say in this matter and as Phil said and i think the whole team would agree we would rather play billiards than get a bye straight through to semi's

Hi Alan
Thanks for clearing it up but as i also said at the meeting we had the exact same team last year so there is no reason for us to go up it has all been based on Collin signing on that's silly 1 player doesn't make a winning team and i would have signed him on in January but that was over looked because apparently it makes the team and league un balanced so its like we have been punished for bringing in a player for January so we don't forfeit potentially 3 games and try keep the flow of the league
still makes no sense sorry

It is only yesterday when Craig actually spelled out that you were not going to play every week. If this had been pointed out when submitting the form, then this MAY have had an effect. As for taking you off the form, if this happened and the team were put down a section, then when they tried to sign you on, it would be rejected as it would be seen as unbalancing the section. At the end of the day this will be for Craig to decide as Captain I just think the idea of someone signing as a replacement to cover holidays influencing the team grading is dissappointing, unfortunately this may not have been made clear at the time the team was entered. I understand how difficult it is to get the grading right. I would suggest that if Craig can get an alternative apprentice and take me off that would be the best solution, as maybe some re-grading could be done. The team has some relatively new players to the game and putting them up and getting thumped each week may just put them off playing altogether (obviously thats just my opinion). Upon this little argument to solve all issues Collin i have to keep you in the team and i would like to keep you in the team. as far as my opinion to the grading goes i think its unfair and a load of toosh to be polite i don't know how a team with the same amount of weak players as good players can be hoisted up a section after loosing a section the season before with the exact same team makes no sense to me. I clearly stated Collin will only be used in January to cover the 4 players we have going away, now for a bit of maths without Collin i have 7 players now if 4 players go away in January that leaves 3 player as we all know 7-4=3 so adding Collin for January means we add 1 to 3 to make 4 which means we still have to use the 4 player rule to get through January, so seeing as Collin is only playing January and basing on what people are saying Berinsfield will pick up a grand total of 2 points each week up to January then we will only get 1 point based on the fact we are going up because we have 3 strong players let me take you back about 2 seasons when Marlborough won the league by a clear 10 points and didn't budge and glads A came down after getting runners up in the league some one please explain to me please. this is the second year Marlborough have won there league and not moved because on paper there not strong enough how the hell does anyone know this until it happens i'm amazed how we can loose the league with the same team as last year and go up its utter rubbish again to be polite. people can hate on this comment and hate me but i have the right as my teams captain to defend them and i also have the right to put my opinion across. and i know i was at the comitee meeting when this was discussed but my voice clearly was not heard.

i remember this now! So because of that we are in line for potential hammerings? Unless we peak.immensely :p With Geoff, Craig and Colin in the team, those three players are a match for anyone in the Premier, so you could say you are fortunate to only be in Section 1 I completely agree with you mark problem i had with this is the point i was trying to get across was Colin is only a January player to cover myself dad john and Adam all going away

A quick question here all, i know that berinsfield have an intense team ;) but im wondering why we are up when the marlborough and glads a finished last league with an unassailable amount of points that we get put in the section above? ??? because we signed Collin martin on from the start instead of January when we need him is the only reason.
