Tarring Club 2 v 3 Swan `B`. Tony Collins 1,110 v 7,210 Barry Holt. Pete Hickman 10,520 v 1,030 Lorenzo Hickman. James Osborn 0,150 v 15,520 Roger Taylor (9,000 break). Dave Collins 3,710 v 2,800 Matthew Squire. Chris Cox 4,490 v 5,080 Doug Mahy. Close game on last with Doug having the break back 5 times, and Chris potting the break 4 times on one of his breaks. Lucky Doug. Unfortunately for me, this should read 11,520 not 10,520! :)

The Hickman's are having a sniff but no reply as to the reserve or the slate condition. Even for spares its reasonable.

Dew Drop 4 - 2 Swan B
*I.Knight beat C.Oakley P.Hickman beat S.Downs* *S.Smith beat K.Kundson *P.Humphries beat L.Hickman SS & P.Hu beat CO & KK* LH & P.Hi beat SD & IK*
Good games throughout and plenty of laughs. The initial breaks won most of the games which is a shame as there was a slight admin hiccup and we only had 1 break in the singles -> KK should have had the break in game 3 but was told he was against!

Chris, you are right and as I said I do agree and it doesn't bother me in fact I'd rather stay there, I just think some would view it unfair to have the accommodation mandatory especially as we are supposed to be encouraging the younger generations.

Hmmmm.... based on the fact that most players seem to play 2 Leagues nowadays, maybe it would be fairer to say that I've had the equivalent of 14 years worth of play!! ::) ;D ;D Wow you truly are dedicated to this game.. 4 leagues?! all with their own comps, inter-league, sussex comps, open, national & international comps and you've still had time to be part of some of the leagues' governing bodies! Wow.

Dave, based on your comments RE table 4 I must have the wrong one in mind if it was the one the Final was played on, you are correct I did not play that table. :/ Table 2 however I did play the last game on it and having watched a game on it earlier it was definitely doing something different.
It is almost impossible for me to gauge the 1-up & split as I can't stand my new tip and how I get it to apply spin and no matter how much I practice, the consistency of my 1-up has gone down the toilet. :(
I feel comfortable in knowing I am following a similar path to you, last year I too decided to attend as many opens as possible every year, getting a whooping at most of them, but just picking up a shot here and there and mainly so that competition at the top level becomes more natural rather than nerves coming in playing 'on the big stage'. I had no idea you had only been playing 7 years though that really is incredible.

This is a valid point, and for the record I do agree, but it is a catch 22 if you are asking for increased entrants or are you talking about residents? The former you won't achieve by effectively forcing the players to pay an amount they may not be comfortable with.

Whoops, that's the problem with going back and changing what you said to be more grammatically correct, I meant to say Spanish is easier but Russian is more complicated than computer talk lol.
Tommo to answer your question there is no need to allow access without the www. it is just an ease-of-use thing that is easily changed. Also for search engines or mobile devices that have a 'feeling lucky' type search where one can just type worthing bar billiards and the wdbbl.co.uk site comes up. Sometimes have the www. prevents this (but not always).
P.S. You are correct, yours & Dave's sites are correctly configured

Swan B 3 - 3 Swan A
*KK 1940 - 3090 Phil *Chris 4100 - 1740 Brian Pete 2730 - 4450 Chris* *Enzo 8130 - 2220 Joe *Enzo & KK 7380 - 4910 Brian & Joe *Chris & Pete 1810 - 6610 Phil & Chris
Yes, yes another draw. Maybe if I stop talking about them they'll just go away lol.
KK was ahead for the majority but Phil kicked it up a gear after 10 mins with a 2k break. 0-1 Chris went off with 2.5k and Brian looked comfortable but lost a 3k+ break, Chris finished it off. 1-1 Pete gave up his right to the break against Chris and looked a good choice as Chris was off after 800 but Pete couldn't capitalize early and Chris punished him with some lovely play indeed! 1-2 I didn't give Joe many goes, he did well to pull a respectable score back right on the bar! 2-2 KK & Joe didn't see much of the table, I broke off with 4.5k, Brian replied with 4.2k, KK & Joe got one go and I finished off with another 3k. 3-2 With the draw in the bag, we hoped it would tip our way for a change but Chris lost his opening 2.5k break and Phil didn't have to be asked twice. The B side never got going again after that. 3-3

Blimey, that looks very complicated.... "computer speak" is almost a foreign language nowadays!! ::) ;D ;D Sorry, that's the least complicated I thought it would have been a tall order to ask that the DNS name server record target www be created as a canonical name record (CNAME) as a sub/domain alias as it is set up as an address record (A) with the url minus the prefix but is not pointing correctly. In short advanced DNS -> add CNAME -> hostname = www -> destination CNAME wdbbl.co.uk

Tony, if you want the same as the old site whereas wdbbl.co.uk points to your wesite (no www. in front) then go into Control Panel -> Domain Names -> Select domain and click manage -> Scroll down to advanced settings -> click on Manage DNS -> Click Advanced -> Click edit pencil on the @ DNS row and make it the same as the bottom www dns entry

Enzo, I would be really interested to know what "quirks you noticed developing throughout the day....?? I will have a different opinion to you Dave as I generally talk about the ability to get the break back not just the 3 shots you play to get a high break and you may be underestimating the level of experience difference between the Grand Prix and the U25s players in terms of recognizing and adapting to different tables. Table 2 had a quirky break that one could easily disrupt their concentration on whilst trying to get a break which seemed to get worse later in the day once it was cooler/less humid?! Table 3 had a snakey right then left roll on the left and and right roll on the right 30. Table 4 the 1-up seemed to either be just too thick it would be a risky 100 split or a 20 split and a tad thinner with no matter how much right it would shoot high of the 50. Again this seemed to be worse later on. Table 7 was doing something later on compared to the beginning as it was catching some people out up the table. Table 8 had an extremely thick break, it was rolling right and was downhill so balls collected on the back cushion but seemed to get better throughout the day. Table 9 had an extremely thin break and right hand roll. These are my personal experiences but they may well be completely different in your eyes. This is a part of the game I am working on, trying to find a balance between dialling in a table quickly and over analysing it. Yes, I took the information directly off the spreadsheet sent to me by Dave Alder.... none of the Under 25's got on well with Table 8. :-/ I meant the high score can't be lower than the average?! I think table 8 was just so different from the other it threw us off, and I played it first game and wasn't ready for a quirky table straight off the bat! Strangely, Denise Wills scored 6,400 and 9,580 in her two in the only game played on that table in the Ladies Grand Prix so she obviously quite enjoyed it Yes I scored this one, Denise got along with the table straight away and I felt sympathy for Coleen as I had the same 'bad luck' as she did.

As a comparison, the total number of points scored in 2011 (from the same number of games) was 745,120.... so either the players or the tables have improved by 10% in the last year! 8-) Wow when you throw numbers like this around it does make our game sounds awesome :D It must be a few million in bigger comps :D Table Averages - Under 25's Table Matches Total Score Game Average High Score 5k+ 10k+ 15k+
1 3 44,740 7,457 11,010 0 1 0 2 4 45,870 5,734 8,660 2 0 0 3 2 22,000 5,500 6,050 2 0 0 4 2 37,120 9,280 15,060 2 0 1 5 3 33,010 5,502 7,840 2 0 0 6 2 37,730 9,443 11,760 2 1 0 7 3 36,880 6,147 11,630 1 1 0 8 3 22,080 3,680 2,890 0 0 0 9 1 14,810 7,405 8,160 1 0 0 Total 23 294,240 6,397 15,060 12 3 1 Is this right Dave?

Tables don't get breaks, players do! If you have a problem with a table, epecially if it is running short as all clocks were set at seventeen and a quarter minutes, then please report it to the tournament organiser so that it can be recorded on the National tables board, as requested, so that I can arrange correction if a pattern emerges. Sav. Again Chris, you misinterpreted what I was saying and assumed I was slating the tables whereas I found them in a lot nicer condition than I think the Berks Open in the same venue where everyone was complaining. I did not find them overly quick though as some people are saying so the league tables I play on must be quick and I am used to it. It was the way in which the table's quirks which developed throughout the day that meant a 15k+ break was a tall order even for elite players let alone myself who would need a near perfect table such as table 5 or 6 to get one. I didn't mean to imply the other tables were bad, jheez it's hard to say anything without covering your on backside but yes now I've read it again I see why you reacted this way. Perhaps I should have worded it differently. EDIT: After seeing Dave's averages I don't think it's unfair to name the tables I was talking about 15k being extremely unlikely.. 2 and 8. I also struggled with 3 but Phil's 22k on there made me feel very pedestrian. Also 16:30 is perfectly legal, why would I report this unless asked to? I will take note that they should be 17:15. Also it could have been the way me or my opponent pulled the bar. P.S. Table 9 ran 19+ minutes LOL - Did we have "the hoodie" versus the "full tuxedo" in the Final ? ;D ;D ;D Unfortunately not Clive, I felt that it would be disrespectful to the Grand Prix players and could be seens as 'mocking' them by wearing the same attire. I will have to earn my right to wear the Tux.
