Senior singles preliminary round at RSSC earlier: Derek 2, Paul 0.
First game (my break): reasonable start, excellent reply from Derek (9K+ score). 1-0. Second game: took my time getting the break back and didn't do enough with it. 2-0.
Well played Derek, thanks Pete E. for coming along and doing scores. We stayed and played a third game anyway, Pete and me this time: no pressure, knocked in 10K+ between us. All good practice for later in the week.

Windmill GG 3, Roffey CC 2 Well our first win, but the result probably of more use to the Roffey CC.........Johnny 4300, Ros 2770 Graham D 2890, Sparky 7360 Clive 5010, Gandalf 5970 Tony 9930, Paul 150 Barry 4320, Ian G 2800 Sparky's game wizard-like as was Gandalf's (although he let me get my nose in front at one stage). A long-overdue performance from Tony but I felt for Paul as that's the second time in less than a week he's been kept off the table. Good news for us is that Mr Mike should be featuring in our lineup the next time we play (in four weeks' time). A pleasant evening with some good social chat going on between the two teams. That's OK, Clive: no permanent psychological damage done, pulled myself together last PM.

As some of you already know, my navigational skills are not great. If anyone is going near Faygate roundabout, RSVP by any electronic method for bustop pickup and help with petrol / diesel money. Update: OK now, will be on time.

Just a quick question: will a group format be used for this comp? if so, definitely interested. Either way, I'll be there: paperwork posted earlier this PM.
