Seem to be watching more TV than usual at the moment, so I thought, with Clive cornering the market on quizzes, that I would ask for recommendations of things to watch, and give a few opinions (as I do) of the things I have been watching, or some of the programmes that I would never watch whatever time I had on my hands.
Recommend: If you missed "Gavin and Stacey" first time round, all six episodes are on BBC2 on Saturday night.
Try to miss: anything with Ant and Dec hosting (or even in), anything with Vic Reeves in, Celebrity Ding-Dong.
Try not to cringe: when Orla Guerin is reporting from somewhere dangerous as she always does. Try not to shout CHEER UP at the TV.
Recommend: Crufts, but is it a coincidence that it is always on while we are in Bournemouth.

The only decent stuff coming out on TV at the moment is from America.
Lost (new series on Sky at the moment), Prison Break, Heroes & 24 are all great series. Invest in the DVD box set if you want to watch them as these series are entering their 3rd or 4th season and you really need to watch them from the start.
Will give the Terminator Sarah connor thing a go Colemanator - not surprised you are watching that :D
With regard to British stuff, i do watch Hollyoaks, obviously for the gripping storylines... ;)

Ants are mostly black so I thought Ant was the black haired one?
I love to watch Top Gear (repeats and all with the best one so far being where Paul McKenna hypnotised the Hamster). Never mind the Buzzcocks. Eggheads. Grand Designs.
Desperate Housewives (due back soon?).
Cold Feet - no longer on TV but DVD collection available.
My mate from work is on Deal or No Deal at the moment. Best taped and then played back at speed on silent!! But bless him, he seems to be having a good time ;D

Can anyone workout why Ant & Dec are so popular?
I try to watch Top Gear (even though I don't drive) Ashes To Ashes (not quite as good as Life On Mars, but Keeley Hawes has a reasonable pair of legs) NCIS but not CSI Have I Got News For You and on Radio 4, the News Quiz Morse (but not Lewis) and for the same reasons as Tommo - LK Today

Most of the Discovery Channels on Sky show decent stuff, especially the Animal Planet channel on Discovery. I always watch that when I am home, but if you don't like blodd and gore, then matbe some of the programmes are not for you. But please remember when watching animals that they kill to survive, and eat, unlike the other animals that inhabit this planet, who happen to call themselves educated human beings. Sometimes I have my doubts, and would rather have a wild animal ( of the 4 legged kind ) than some of the so called humans around.

Yes Sky is a must. On a Wednesday night after a gallon of beer, a game of bar bills I like to unwind watching the ten minute free view on 'CLIMAX' T.V. Quality!

Well I'm going to tell you now - so don't read on if you really don't want to know!!! ;D They always stand the same way with Ant on the left and Dec on the right (as you look at them on screen). So Ant is the cheeky one and Dec is the little one!!!! Don't ask me how I know that - I'm not too sure myself!!! 8-)

Just TOO tempting so I read it. But it is ok because I have already forgotten!
Not much there that I fancy and that I do not watch on terrestrial TV already, so it just looks like a Cold Feet DVD and Lorraine Kelly's cleavage. See you in two weeks...................
note to self: avoid "thespecialone" late on Wednesday nights at all cost

UNBEARABLE STUFF
Eastenders (Woss ga'in on!) Britains got X Factor Pop Talent Idol (Aargh, where did all the musicians go?) Hammond Organ music (Why does radio 2 go cr*p at 8pm most nights?)

UNMISSABLE TV Repeats of Red Dwarf on Dave (He's Dead Dave) UNBEARABLE STUFF Hammond Organ music Oh dear ! Hammond organs are also widely used in 1970s progressive rock music bands such as Pink Floyd's Rick Wright (First on a Hammond M-100, and later on a C-3); Emerson, Lake and Palmer's Keith Emerson (L-100 and C-3); Genesis's Tony Banks (a Hammond L-122 and later a Hammond T-102); and Yes' Rick Wakeman (C-3). It also sparked the interest of the keyboard players in early heavy metal bands such as Deep Purple's Jon Lord (C-3), Uriah Heep's Ken Hensley, and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones.and.............. The fictional character Arnold Rimmer (from the BBC TV science fiction-comedy series Red Dwarf) is a big fan of Hammond organ music. He is particularly fond of an artist by the name of Reggie Wilson (a satirical reference to Reginald Dixon), whose Hammond organ albums include "Lift Music Classics" (in British English, a "lift" is an elevator) and "Funking up Wagner". Rimmer has also taught the Skutters to play the Hammond organ, and on the series, every Wednesday night is "Amateur Hammond Organ Recital Night". None of the other crew of the Red Dwarf spaceship particularly enjoy Rimmer's taste in musicSo we have someone purporting to be a fan both of Prog Rock and of Red Dwarf not being able to abide the Hammond Organ ! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just remembered what my favourite bit of telly is at the moment, and it's an advert. :o :o :o
The Tiscali one: "Honey I'm home !" Next-door-neighbour Bob jumps out of bed and hides in wardrobe. "I've just found out about Tiscali's latest offer of broadband plus etc etc at only £xxx per month" Wife gives a nervous laugh and clutches bedclothes around her. Husband continues "I must tell Bob next door". Only £xxx ? says a surprised Bob, emerging from wardrobe, "That's amazing !"
Yeah, right. ;D

You've got me there, Tommo!
Of course, the hammond is the great rock/prog organ, and I have seen Keith Emerson stick knives in his organ several times (ouch). I would also recommend Deep Purple's "Slaves and Masters" for some great playing by Jon Lord (and his solo albums are great).
What I was refering to was the dreadful radio 2 show "The Organist Entertains" with Nigel Ogden - I hate the show because they never play Emerson, Wakeman, Banks et al. >:(
And as for Rimmer's passion for Reggie; I'm with Lister on that one!
Hope that's cleared it up. 8-)

Of course ! Hopefully you took my jibe as a lighthearted one !
The episode of Dwarf dedicated to Rimmer and his captive audience was hilarious and one of my favourites.
And back in the 50's there was an equivalent to Ogden in the name of Sydney Torch, I see to recall.
I will certainly be investigating your recommendations. The best bit of Hammond ever has to be on Caravan's Nine Feet Underground, with Proper Job/Back to Front a close second.

And back in the 50's there was an equivalent to Ogden in the name of S...... ...that is, Stan and Hilda, I presume. but I haven't watched Coronation St (or Corrie as it is always called now) since Elsie Tanner died

There we are, having a good discussion on Prog Rock, and a couple of old dinosaurs wade in and take us back to the original Coronation Street of 1960. ;D ;D ;D I have been watching it all that time, with a slight break for a few years during the "R Brian" era. My favourite character in those days was Ken Barlow, normally placid but not averse to a good fist fight with Ray Langton or Len Fairclough.
It's not bad at the moment, with the spawn of the devil David Platt, and the trio Violet//the ex-boyfriend who was knocking off his own stepmum//the poof. They try to get away tonight with the poof in hot pursuit.
