I have now heard from Hainsworth and will be ordering cloth for twenty sets tomorrow, the cost will be £38 including VAT.
First come, first served after those that are reserved.
If I get it time for Jersey I can take some sets with me if pre-ordered.

That's great, Sav. Shall I send the money just now or will Jersey do?

That's great, Sav. Shall I send the money just now or will Jersey do? Jersey will do, preferably not in Jersey Beer Vouchers . If it arrives in time do you want me to bring it to Jersey? Sav

Cloth finally arrived after Jersey and I have spent an interesting morning snicking and ripping up twenty sets, the ripping horrifies the management!!
Price will be £36 in total for finest quality Hainsworth Match, the same as the AEBBA tables. I'm keeping the price down as I'm able to use excess cloth from the AEBBA table recover (they sent pool sets which were slightly oversize for us) to make half the cushions. After this twenty sets have gone, the next lot will obviously be more expensive as prices increase and I have to order full sets.
For collection I will be at the GP/O-60/U-25 on Sunday and the AGM, the next opportunity to collect will be Bournemouth.
Let me know if you want any.
Sav.

Hi Scotty,
Yes, the deal I did with Hainsworth is there for the benefit of all members. If you find you need rubber as well let me know as I bought a batch of that which is a little over £20 a set at cost.
I'm doing the annual AEBBA accounts from today so will be busy trying to balance the books this week.

Sav,
Yes I would like to buy, including the rubbers.
I live in Germany.
I am sure that it can be posted here. However, how can I pay you first?

OK FOLKS,
It seems that "rubbers" means something else to to you lot.
The real English name for a rubber, is an eraser. Well Sav. I do not need erasers!
I need the part of the cushion, that makes the balls bounce off correctly.
I can imagine that some people misunderstand this, too.
Anyway Sav. I am serious. I would like to buy the cloth and the cushion rubber to repair a Bar Billiard Table.
Sav. No joking now, I await for the price and how to pay in advance, with dispatch to Germany.
Thanks,
Scotty

Sav,
Thanks for the info about the mongrel on the other thread.
I now have bought my table, and wanted to use it for spares. However I decided that I want to try to recover it, that is the reason why I asked for the price for rubbers and cloth recently.
I know you are busy and you will inform cost for the cloth and rubbers to Germany when you can. However as I now have a table I want to confirm that I will buy cloth and rubber.
I will take table apart. How would you advise to strip the wood down? Sanding, paint stripper dipping?
Please also guide me to the thread on setting the pockets and other threads. I once saw a photo of a table being recovered but cannot find it now.
Many thanks,
Scotty

Scotty,
It looks like the cost of postage will be no more than £12 for cloth and rubbers, without full insurance, nearer £20 postage if you want the parcel insured to £100.
Do you have an English bank account please for a BACS transfer?
Failing that there is Paypal, but that attracts fees of 3½% plus possible currency conversion.
First I will need to know if the rubber portion of your table cushions runs the whole length, on many tables the rubber only runs as far as the join to the leatherette and the cushion is a wooden filler adjacent to the leatherette.
For this and your other questions I could really do with a picture of the table and one that shows the playing surface.
Best wishes,
Sav.

Nipper,
Three sets of cloth is no problem, I can bring them to the AGM on Sunday if you can arrange collection and pennies for me!
RE 'Rubber' I only currently had one spare set that I offered to Scotty to make life easier for him. You could just as easily order a length from James Masters Trad games site. I get mine from there as I have not been able to set up a commercial account elsewhere. Let me know ASAP if you still want me to order in time for the weekend AGM.
Best wishes,
Sav

Sav,
I have 2 tables. The first one is in use. The rubbers go to the leatherette. So the first set of cloth and rubber is for future use. The second, I bought for spares. It was a bargin. However when I got it home I found that the slate was perfect, so I want to recover this one first and practice on.. The rubber goes to the end of the table. Each side is different, one has rubber at the top, the other has two rubbers. The cloth is a disaster. I will send photo of each cushion side. Therefore I now need 2 sets of cloth and rubber.
I have UK bank account, so I can transfer in Pounds Sterling direct to your account. Postage price is OK. Without insurance. I will transfer immediately. When can I get the cloth and rubber?
Nigel
Hope all is clear.
I am ready for covering my first table. The slate is out. I do not know how to re install it, as I took it out on the floor. How do you install theslate from the top?
Nigel

Hi Scotty,
I really need photos as there are two sizes of bar billiard table out there and the cloth and rubbers I have are for the standard width, they would not be long enough for the slightly narrower format.
I am also concerned by your description of different cushion rubber.
Email me large hi res pictures please. I think we need a separate new thread for table advice.
