Wot, no sauna, gymnasium or recording studio ? :o ;D ;D And where's the motor cycle showroom ? I hear that the motor cycles are in the kitchen...usually on the table ;D, but there is no need for a sauna or gymnasium when he gets all that down the pub ;D 8-)

After a couple of days with no fresh snow....... it is now coming down heavily again here in Brighton. ::) :D
At least another inch has fallen so far this morning to go with the 4 / 5 inches of packed snow (or should I say solid ice in most places.... ::)) that was already there.
Probably lucky that the Sussex Comps were cancelled for this weekend as the forecast is for more snow today, tomorrow and Monday..... 8-)

I do like the pictures lads...keep them coming! Any animal or bird photos in the snow would be good to see as well.
Chris, don't let too much snow build up on your flat roof or you know what may happen. ::)....nice house though. 8-)
Clive, that's a big one you have there!! ;D
Shame it's dark when I deliver as I could put some interesting ones on....if I knew how?

There is snow here in North East Kent, out on the Grain Peninsula, about 10 - 15 cm of the stuff. I have to stay here for another few days as I have a hospital appointment on 15th Jan. I am reliably informed by the other half that it has not stopped raining for 4 days where I reside in Romania. Be glad to get back so I can get warm.

Yup, our turn certainly!! lanes still blocked in one direction and I feel no urge to try and get out in the other direction.
All the daylight lemming fun has finished. Strange groups of people leaping around cars waving shovels, rushing from one car to another and kneeling before them, some sort of worship??. We had three different parties in view at one time on our lane and the road across the field. I just totally fail to understand the mentality of risking damaging something worth thousands of pounds. You put your hand on their car in the car park and they'll look daggers at you, yet they drive the things through deep snow with all the cr@p sandblasting the bottom of their cars!
At least the weather radar looks clear for tonight.

I do like the pictures lads...keep them coming! Any animal or bird photos in the snow would be good to see as well. Well they're not very good as the had to be taken from the kitchen window, but here are two: First one is almost 'spot the bird'. Shows the collapsed rose arch, with two blackbirds (one in bush, one on ground). Several sparrows feeding on the bird table, and two starlings on the suet balls. The 'duck' in the background is an ornament, not a real one ! Not sure what bird it is perched on the fence pole in the second one. Wrong shape for a pigeon or magpie, too big for a sparrow or blue tit, too fat for a blackbird, too small for a crow, and its beak too small for a starling. Answers on a postcard, please ?

You caught me out there Clive, as I was looking for the 2nd picture!!
The bird on the fence post is a male Blackbird that has been eating too many mince pies, like me. ::)

We've had some more snow down here in Cornwall, not much compared to the rest of you but it might be worth a comparison. First picture is the view from our back garden second is a view of the cattery then looking for wildlife (without leaving the house) I could only come up with our Milly and of course the obligatory Nobby & friends ;D

To go with the car that's been blocking the lane for the last two days we've now got the happie chappie who has tried to drive his big fancy 4 X 4 past it by taking to the field instead of going the extra ½ mile around the block. He's now stuck up to his axles alongside the original ;D ;D.
And he knocked on the door in the middle of my dinner asking for help! guess what the answer was :o Well I did actually, I emailed farmer David to tell him his winter wheat is getting considerably churned up (country joke, Q would understand)

Friend arrived to help him and two nice expensive 4 X 4's now stuck up to their axles. Party's getting interesting Sav I am chuckling at the mental picture. The guy opposite does 4wheel Off road events and has a big choice of vehicles and just put his chunky expensive 'dirt devil' tyres he uses for competitions on one of his Range Rovers, as his modified Land Rover is FAR too powerful and probably doesn't have a heater ;D, anyway he doesn't have a problem on the roads but doubt he would be silly enough to try and cross a field, unnecessarily. We've thawed a little bit for much of the day but still have plenty of snow for anyone interested in taking it away ;D

Spoke too soon, gritter lorry has now tried to force its way through the drifts, not knowing a car was dumped in the way. He is now stuck as he can't get back up the little hill,
All happening here!

Yes please to the salt, Sav..... we'll have the gritter lorry down here as well please, haven't seen one of them anywhere near us in Hove since the snow started! ::) Our road is only on a slight hill, but the bottom 3 inches of snow are now just solid sheet ice...... we've had people skiing down the road, the usual kids on toboggans and snow ball fights and yesterday a family came back from the park with one of their dogs (a labrador) pulling one of their children in a sledge behind him..... I wish my camera had been handy. ;D Great stories Sav..... made us both laugh, especially having seen the picture of the car that was stuck in your lane. ;)

Sorry Dave too late, half six and they are back with avengeance, two more lorries, a van and an even bigger tractor totally blocking us in, already exchanged pleasantries with them to let us out for work.
One lorry is a flat bed so looks like they are going drag the car out
Sav
[edit] Management says they were there at 0430hrs digging away quite merrily.
