L. Hickman & P. Hickman v M. Buckle & N. Nutley @ New Sussex Hotel
Oponents conceeded, win to the Hickmans.
//
P. Hickman v C. Pemberton @ Montreal
Pete thought he did well to come in second against Chris in both games ;D
//
S. Burns v L. Hickman @ Bib & Tucker
I haven't had a call from Steve yet, and this is the only league I'm not captain of so I do have the phone number sheet to give him a call :(
We've only got a week today to play, tomorrow is the Worthing Chairmans cup, friday saturday sunday is xmas time, I'm unavailable Monday (bank holiday, unless played early i.e. 6pm) so that leaves 28th or 29th from my end. If anyone can or is likely to see Steve please do pass on info/request dates he CAN play :)

L. Hickman & P. Hickman v M. Buckle & N. Nutley @ New Sussex Hotel
We've been trying to get this game rearranged for some time now :( We tried rearranging last week's arranged match (Monday) with tonight, but have had no reply and tonight is probably the only night we can play before xmas...

Henty B 3 - 2 Gardeners B
Gary 1990 - 1310 Danny Hayley 5010 - 180 Chris Bill 2830 - 2170 Pete Gareth 2290 - 2700 Enzo Anna 1050 - 2090 Damo
Gary (ill) v Danny - Both struggled to get hold of the table (this table is Danny's nemesis with the BP from last time he was nervous). Gary was looking quite ill after being bed-bound for 3 days, nevertheless managed to put the home to 1-0 up
Hayley v Chris O - Hayley put up a respectable 5k+ in the early parts of the game with Chris not quote getting the break back until 4 minutes to go. 5k in 4 minutes seemed impossible, but the Comeback Kid started racking up the pound coins VERY quickly and soon saw himself on a 4600 break when the bar dropped as he played a one-up shot. With 540 to chase, Chris put his mental maths to the test to try and get the maximum he could. An ambitious hit into the 100 hole left a ball behind the right hand 30 hole, and again, trying to get a 100 shot from this ball, he clipped the rim and fouled. What a shame, it was a lovely break but only ended up with 810 score to show for it. 2-0 Henty B
Pete v Bill. With Pete on good form at the moment, he seemed the perfect option to play him on the break vs Bill. A steady 1k break from the start damaged his confidence from the start, but the 2 battled it out with some lucky 100's from the home player! Pete never got going again and was disappointed to give the home side the 3-0 win already.
Enzo v Garteh. Captain's duty to pick up the pieces, good little tap from both of us (again, a few lucky 100's with the red this time from Gareth), but I still managed to secure the 3-1
Damo v Anna. Good tap from both sides, but Damo proved too much for Anna in the end and rounded the night off with a more respectable 3-2 scoreline.
A great night and a good laugh as usual!

I've just found a saved note in drafts on my phone of the Henty A vs Gardeners game:
4-1 Gardeners
James 1560 - BP Danny Gordon 1720 - 1930 Chris O Rob 2140 - 2560 Enzo Ros 940 - 2380 Damo Derek 860 - 2140 Pete
Hope this helps, Rob I hope I got your score correct, as it said 1240 but I know it was a lot closer than that! Also Ros, was this your score or was it 1940? I remember rushing the scores down, but I remember you had no luck so I wouldn't be surprised if 940 was the final score! :)

Gardeners B 4 - 1 Schooner
We're sure these scores are a litte off but that's what's on the card so I should've checked
Damo 1610 - 1500 Andy (not the other way around as per card) Enzo 2280 - 140 Jay Danny 1760 - 1040 Jack Chris O 1060 - 1760 Helen Pete - BYE
Damo vs Andy underhit the first break but recovered to put up 1k, they both battled it out but damo's initial break proved worthy a win. The table seemed a little off compared to normal, with no chance for big scores, but it was definately playable.
Enzo vs Jay - Chris O and I rock-paper-scissored for the game, and I ended up putting up a respectable 2280 or something against Jay's 1.5k
Danny vs Jack (I think) - Danny got the break better than Damo, but missed the 1-up. No luck for the home player on this occasion, Danny made over a 2k score in the end I believe.
Chris O vs Helen. Chris never got going and Helen struggled to get a score up in the end, but it was quite even until a series of no scores from Chris left an opening for Helen to round the evening off.
Pete vs BYE - 5th player not there.
Good nite of bb, even though the main competition was the boxing machine there, with power ratings for 000 up to 900! For all that care, Chris O of all people was in the lead for a while with a decent 731 (once, with the other ones at about 600), I put up a 611 to start with and realised I was too tall and was punching the ball down so got a 709 the second time still hitting it wrong apparently! Danny got 650 and Andy made light work of showing us up with a one hit 739 to just pip chris haha!

shame that the very good table was not so good, Well, it definately evened the play up - just a shame a gorgeous table wasn't good enough for someone who decided to alter it for the worse. Huge left hand rolls with very whippy pockets. 1-up was difficult but eventually playable.

Week 9
Nov 18, 2010 13:18:37 GMT
Post by enzo on Nov 18, 2010 13:18:37 GMT
Swan B 4 - 2 BLEP
L.Hickman 2230 - 2660 S.Chant Chris O 2500 - 940 K.Granger Pete H 3420 - P.Norrell 1900 Chris C 3500 - S.Hawkes 360 Lorenzo & Chris C 2940 - 5770 Simon & Keath Pete H & Chris C 3820 - 1600 Eric & Steve
Great game in the end, unlucky for some in the singles, but seemed to spring back in the doubles :D

Gardeners B 3 - 2 Marine View A
P.Hickman 2370 - 3380 B.Thomas D.Driscoll 3830 - 1200 C.Oliver L.Hickman 3060 - BP J.Hayes D.Hickman 2290 - 3250 M.Mason C.Oakley 5010 - 1080 Bepo
Good game, I wish people would leave our table alone though, it was playing fine until someone played about with the legs! Pete had Bob going until the very end when a 1k break from Bob made it 1-0 to the away team. Danny played off a 2130 break soon making it 2-0. John had me beat by about 500 when the bar dropped so sinking the red behind the 20 hole was on his mind. The cue ball sunk so cleanly down that it sent the red ball hurtling down the table and eventually toppling the black peg. Unlucky John! ??? Similar game to the first, Damo had Matt going most of the match until a nice series of breaks of a worthy winner. Chris seemed to be the only one that could really get on the table without making any kind of comment. A lovely 5k score but no big breaks (all 1k or under) leaving no chance for Bepo
EDIT: Sorry, got told the scores are slightly off in some places.

Very nice nigel, just spotted when clicking the two masters links, they come up with the wording 'Masters 2001' on the desciption bar :) and also the lower division page reads 'Lower Division Masters 2005' Silly I know but I thought I'd point it out :)

I've heard nothing on the subject as of yet.. As most of you have already seen, we have a clash tonight. Swan A and Swan B both supposed to be at home, and this obviously cannot be. Not quite sure who's supposed to be swapping fixtures (I suppose us B team have to!), I better inform the Dew Drop that we are coming to them tonight and they are coming to us on 15th March 2011.
Everyone happy with that as it stands?

live updates:
Gardeners B 3 - 2 Marine View B
P.Hickman 2760 - 1510 S.Oliver C.Oakley 3370 - 4640 M.Senior L.Hickman 2210 - 1890 M.Gardner D.Driscoll 5720 - 2140 John D.Hickman 1170 - 2240 Del
Solid game from Pete to give us a 1-0 lead, even though his score disappointed him after a 9570 game on the same table last night! Chris looked favourite to make it 2-0 but a sneaky 2k break from mark at the end gave him the win. The next game saw myself deteriorate in the last half of the game after leading for the first half despite being off the break.. Never going to be a high scorer with a dead center ball behind the black peg left early in the game.. Overall a good game with a last ball red ball dicider. This'll be the last time I say that we are surprised and delighted at Danny's performance, as a highest score of the night of 5720 by this season's rookie stunned us but now seems to be becoming the norm. Well done Dan. Damo and Del battled it out for the finale but a late 1k break proved too much for Damo to claw back, pegging a behind the 10 shot to drop a 700 break
Maybe next time you guys could go to the right pub and turn up a little earlier tha 8:35 eh? :)
Once more to clarify - the Gardeners Arms is in Portslade NOT Sompting!

Tarring Club 2 - 3 Gardeners B
C.Cox 2690 - 1600 P.Hickman D.Collins - B/P (1170) - 3350 L.Hickman J.Osborne 1730 - 1820 C.Oakley A.Collins 3060 - 630 D.Hickman R.Baker 1180 - 2140 D.Driscoll
Wow, not quite sure how we did it but we managed to concentrate and take it a little seriously this time.. well, sort of :)
Cracking night as always, with some solid scores from most. Danny once again showing stength when we needed it most and didn't crack under pressure, well done.

Gardeners B 2- 3 Romans
P.Hickman 2760 - D.Nicholls 4240 C.Oakley 2890 - R.Pettiford BP (2160) L.Hickman 3420 - S.Bettles 5240 D.Driscoll 2740 - M.Moore 1370 D.Hickman 1850 - D.Roberts - 2000
Solid performance all round. Very evenly matched games. Sleepy gave the Romans an early lead over Pete with a 2300 break from the off. Chris and Ross battled it out but some spells of unluckiness from Ross have Chris the edge. Stuart and I had a good game, with a break from myself of 2620, whipping a left 50 on the split and leaving the door wide open for another 2k break from my opponent. Star of the day had to be Danny, the Gardeners landlord, who is stepping in for us on home games in place of Ben. Very nice score from a beginner of 2740 seeing off Mick. Damo and Dave R had a very nail-biting finale as they were neck and neck for quite a while until Damo's luck ran out and had a series of no-scores, coming at a heavy price as Dave took advantage of this to get the 3-2 win.
Well played all

Not sure if we are the Gardeners 'B' or not as we are 'A' in the Brighton league :-/ I'm assuming we are as we haven't received the entry forms yet. I'm sure it will be cleared up at tonight's meeting anyway. :)

Swan 3 - 2 Schooner
Lorenzo 4310 - 2560 Gareth James O 3670 - 2150 Arthur James W 2570 - 980 Jay James W & James O 2500 - 4780 Arthur & Helen Enzo & Bex 850 - 2460 Ros & Garteh
Another great night of Bar Billiards and friendly banter, some nice play from both sides on a newly topped Swan table. Very nice cloth, needs bedding in and ironing but all in due time :) Much nicer than before. I personally found the end of the table lovely but the break is awkward. Nonetheless we emerged victorius. Once again, Bex continues to amaze with some lovely confident shots including behind the 10 hole, so well done her! Thanks to James for filling in for Chris (off at Butlins!).

Indeed I have the entry form. Have not seen Pete yet, and did not want to submit the form myself on his behalf as we still need to confirm the team. As TJ said we are definitely in as Gardeners A, I'll get in touch with Pete today and get it all sorted out.
