Windmill CC (Steve King's team) have the basic five this season, they could really do with a reserve or two. I see some of them in MSBBL on Wednesdays: they are a friendly, sociable squad.
Windmill Gossops Green is easy to find, free parking, a good high-scoring top and plenty of sandwiches. So if anyone fancies some Horsham (Tuesdays) BB as well, RSVP by any method and we'll make sure Steve gets to know.

Roffey H 4, Roffey CC 1. A nice sociable evening, well played Stuart's team. Thinking positive: I won two beers in the raffle (one opened already), lots of sandwiches inc. the all-important B.B. Good games all played in the best of spirit, "friendly" doubles at the end to round off our evening's BB.

Just to say this was a great day out. Competition was well organised, a credit to all concerned. Nice venue, including the all-important coffee at the bar: good close games (I had my chances): plenty of banter and BB-related chat. Looking forward to joining the Horsham & District contingent again next year, all being well.

OK, just back from some RCC group therapy: may I just say that last night's committee meeting was carried out in a serious and measured manner. All aspects of the League were discussed, including finals night attendance / programme & raffle sales / retention of trophies. The two-division format was arrived at by a show of hands, in other words: democracy. Ian and Stuart have put a lot of "homework" into sorting things out, all credit to them. All sounds OK to me, like the comps on Tuesdays (saves clashes with Lewes) and the charity cup. Looking forward to receiving my welcome pack and another good tough season of H&D BB.

Have read this unhappy news: Alan and I met many times over the years, a sad loss to the BB community.

Well, that all worked out OK: I stuck to my Sunday or Wednesday philosophy (turn up on time and do what you're told). H&D ranking points rules also helped, even if you're dead and buried keep on plugging away. The day was really well organised, hardly any "downtime", well done to all concerned. Here's hoping this comp is run again next year, I had a great day out.

Quarter final: Matt and Joe 2, Paul and Jim 1. 'Fraid the H&D participation ground to a halt at Roffey SSC earlier this PM. First two games went with the break: third game going our way till Matt got the break back and really concentrated thereafter. Well played Matt and Joe.

Re quarter final draw: Jim is not available on the 12th, he has asked me to request a postponement till July 19th. Here's hoping Matt and / or Joe read this and can agree to a re-schedule. RSVP using Proboards (Horsham & District league) if this is OK with you.

Took us a while to pick up the pace after Windmill GG practice yesterday: Jim found the break OK in the first game, I found it in the second (bit like HHUSC). Nice lively venue, pentathlon going on with several BB players involved: Absolute Radio, TV on with no sound, good karma all round. Looking forward to July 12th.

Our semi played earlier this PM: Ros & Paul 2, Victoria & Barry 0. Two fairly close games, took us a while to pick up the pace after playing AEBBA tops yesterday: we managed. Excellent hospitality from Southwater, inc. coffee-making.
