Hope are going to put the peg positions back where they were. It would make for an interesting game Sorry Dave....................its going to be 10-20-30-20-10 with 4 mushrooms........................it is a narrow table , but has a wide table slate length , so it will be slightly different to nearly all others ( i know there is another one because i refurbed that a couple of years ago )

Got this table from Kingston - upon - Thames at the end of January , it was in pretty poor condition , moth eaten cloth , no feet . no hinges , no timer/mechanism , cushion rubber hard , no ball return guides , dirty condition but the slate was in 1 piece , the sides were ok , 3 legs were reasonable , 1 leg was split , . score board was past repair and the whole thing smells awful !!!!! Started work on it last week...................more photos to follow.............. Attachments:

So,,,, we should of been out setting up 8 bar billiards tables but instead I'm sitting at home drinking cans of John Smiths that were meant for milko and the really sad thing is it's only just gone noon. I suppose I should be grateful I didn't wake up with a hangover this morning, Im sure if things had gone to plan both Allan and Sav would of been here last night and made me drink far too much beer Stay safe everyone I am sure it can be rectified sometime in the future............The saddest thing is actually drinking tinned John Smiths !!! By the time this lot is over i will have at least 4 tables ready for Ebay plus the bar skittles I am refurbing a NARROW E J Riley at the moment ...............it was 30 - 29 - 10 - 20 - 30 and the side makers were 100 - 50 - 50 -100 ........NO 200 ?? The peg/mushroom positions are marked on the table as in the pictures ?? It will not look like this very soon !!!

What we must not forget is that if it is cancelled / postponed or goes ahead ......The event raises funds for Suffolk Accident Rescue Services ..So dont forget to sell the draw tickets , i sure it can still be draw on the day or there abouts , i am sure that someone will inform you were to send the money plus any donations you would like to make .
On the bright side if the event is just postponed then SARS may benefit further
On a personal basis if the event is cancelled/postponed then i would have no objection my entry fee going to SARS anyway , i am sure that most people will feel the same way.................

To be honest if it is cancelled , then i think the fairest way would be to award the world crown to the 1st person out of draw !!

..... the current advice on public gatherings being that 500 is the cut-off figure ..... League matches not exactly a large gathering and pubs need the trade. The way this is going I'm more likely to die of boredom than anything else.
Attention to hygiene obviously essential, some ba$tard sneezed in Sainsburys yesterday and the aisle cleared in seconds.
Yet some of the advice being given out is crap: "wipe your nose on your sleeve" indeed !
Tommo.............thats were all the toilet rolls go 1 PERSON SNEEZES and 100 OTHERS SHIT THEMSELVES

Nice table, Alan, one of the best Jelks I've seen in a long while, everything looks original. What's the odometer reading ?
At least the steps you had to negotiate were facing downwards ! Makes you consider the performance involved in getting it there in situ in the first place !
25485 , Clock was set to 12minutes , now reset to 17minutes ( Had to fit a longer ticker arm and put 2 nuts on it (It will run to 22mins now , if required) Apparently 6 people lifted it in , there was only 2 of us initially to get it out , me and a guy that lives 300mtrs down the road ( the owner was away in Edinburgh so he left the key with the guy from down the road ) , then we ambushed a guy down the road cleaning his car !! So i went down the stairs backwards while the other 2 guys took the other end , it was bloody heavy !!! With only the legs removed !!! Before i went to collect i asked the guy if access was good ............his reply was ' yes we have a drive ' !!!!!!!! Its new home :- as photo

Bought a Jelks table on Ebay ( from a guys ' man cave ' in South Wales ) Table collected , its an original Jelkes in great condition , the only thing missing is the coin release spring and pivot pin , clock/mechanism all works fine set to free play. No cracks in slate , cloth etc is ok and usable for now , just needs a new 'D' . Came with 4 cues , 4 mushrooms , chalk , proper hinged Jelks back board , Jelks 4 lane brass scoreboard(tear drop brass sliders , cue rack , a reasonable set of balls , set of rules and waterproof cover (795) Its nicely varnished and requires hardly any refurb at all . Extracted it from an isolated room , had to get from a semi 1st floor down 4 steps , across a living room , round the kitchen island into the bathroom doorway then forward through the front door , then down 10 stone steps to the driveway , load up drive 175 miles home !!! My back is now killing me !! The top was locked and key was missing , so when i got home and opened it with one of my keys , i dont think it had been opened for years and years you could write your name in the dust !! Anyway , set it up , played a few balls realised the rubbers were really really dead , so extracted the cushions , the rubbers looked like they were the original ones , rubbers replaced , cushions recovered and all refitted . Then realised that 4 of the drop rings were slightly above surface level , 3 of these tapped back down , no problem but the top right hand ring just would not move , didnt want to change the top cloth (cloth is ok for now ) and didnt want to take the top off . So using a 2 leg fly wheel extractor pulled it out , cleaned the hole with flap wheel , cleaned and deburred the ring then pressed it back in ( still a tight fit ) now all is ok . Its now installed in my log cabin , i wont be selling it for a long while . Dave L , if you read this ignore the mushrooms and positions on the picture , i am using a set of four 50/50 , 100 200 . Alan

I built electronic timers from two shot delay PCB's and heavily geared drill motors a few years ago. They worked well enough, just had to protect the PCB from EM pulses when the motor was reversed to drop the bar. Was that 240 volt ? I'm trying for a low/no load so the batteries last and last . How are rings ? Has a cost been arrived at ? How did the hip work go ?

Sounded so good until the electric timer bit. Problem is there are more tables than clocks ! Cost to produce copies of the the originals is way to high The type i intend to use will not be like the Supreme ones . It will have a pull handle similar to the originals . it will use a standard drop bar . Coin slot will be in the standard position . It will run on 12 volt battery (chargeable) with the ability to run for at least 2000 games on 1 charge . The timer will have a visible dial which can be accurately set to the exact time length required . You probably would not know , unless you lifted the top and looked Could even have a bar down bell ? Or a light ??.................Maybe not ?? Its not original , but better than nothing or a kitchen timer !!

Almost anything is better than a supreme. Looks like your grass needs cutting Grass now sorted , tipped a bottle of gin over it , it should come up half cut !!
It will be getting a new solid mahoganey body , new solid mahoganey legs , new ball return and tray everything other than the top frame , slate , rings , coachbolts and hinges will be replaced ! It will probably also have an electric timer mechanism .

Collected a ' BB Table ' yesterday !!! Still its better than a Supreme ? Leg base plates are good , hinges are excellent and the top from is brilliant with multi tenon joints at corners! Stop bar pivot plates are usable ! Slate and Rings ok Ball return looks like its had a million holes drilled in it , i have never seen so many wood worm holes .

We would like to thank everyone, almost, for their understanding. We believe we have worked out what went wrong with the pairs on the final round and we apologise for the confusion. We hope it didn’t dampen your enjoyment too much and look forward to running the complete format in 2020. We will be posting entry details for the Specflue open soon. Thanks once again for all those who competed, in the spirit of the event. ADDITIONALLY ;-IHad a great weekend , having traveled from Cheshire to play for the Cambridge team. As usual a generally friendly day of playing a fun game with lots of banter . Will someone be putting the results on here , as many teams , as would ours , would like to know the full results . I.E Overall Winners etc etc....................Plate Winners etc etc ...............Highest Individual Game Score Winner ? Thank you to all concerned with admin prior /after and on the day , a thankless task and sometimes with little appreciation of the difficultys encountered making it a truly long day for many !! A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL
