Thanks for these, I believe there is a bidding war going on with the pubs in Norwich on the one close to us. We shall see :-) So, the question now Carl is, have the Norwich League managed to acquire any of these tables that we've endorsed for you? ;D Sorry for the late reply, and thank you so much for all your suggestions and links, I have been going to the pubs around here and they all still seem interested in getting tables, but alas there doesn't seem to be any actually doing anything about it? I can only do so much. Anyway, we shall see if there are any takers in the future.... Our league and singles tournament here in little 'ole Norwich is going from strength to strength though! Although the guy doing the website doesn't seem to update it very often??? >:( Looks like we'll have 2 teams in nearly all the pubs shortly....

No not yet, that pub is 50 yards away from my house, they were one of those that said they were interested but nothing happened, they have a pool league and a darts league, plenty of room for a Billiards table too, but like I say, no joy. It's really annoying because the interest was incredible! I'll still keep on at them though ;D

Jeffrey Bros table from Kent: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300673397447This counts as a Narrow one, note the hole configuration. Also note the four slots that go inside the table for the cues. Padmores also have this feature. A change to own a piece of history here, table seems to have been looked after quite well. Went for £461 after 6 bids.

Another Narrow One (Thurstons) from the Sussex Coast: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290698187554The "Bell Leisure" referred to are based in Ashington, West Sussex and are are 'coin table' company specialising in Pool tables, jukeboxes and the like. Nothing to do with Tarratts. Would be very surprised to see any bids at all on this one - opening bid has been set far too high at £950. Understandably, no bids. What you call "pricing yourself out of the market."

Quality item here, from north coast of Norfolk: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180869475220At first I thought this looked 'narrow' but dimensions given are 6' by 3' which makes it standard. Am grouping Thurstons with SAMs due to similarities. Slate looks sound, and 'Ivor Champion' label inside a definite plus, suggesting it has undergone a spruce up at the Stelling Minnis workshop. Interesting overhead lamp. I reckon the bidding will exceed £800 on this one. Went for an amazing £961 after 23 bids.

At first I thought this looked 'narrow' but dimensions given are 6' by 3' which makes it standard. Sorry Clive but from the layout of the mid table pockets I would say definately narrow, the guy has probably bought his measuring tape from a chinese seller on Ebay ;D

Okay Q, confirms my first instincts. Makes this one ideal for the Norwich League. Transferred threads accordingly.
Still love that lamp. ;)
Bulletin.........it's up to £783 and still two days to go !!

Have a close look at the ten ('Thirty') pocket, Ivor didn't do that one ;D Sav Indeed, the 10 pocket is 'proud' of the playing surface. The fact it is marked as the 30 and the 30 as 10's further supports Bernie's claim of a 'narrow' table. The label remains a mystery - would Ivor have installed a working timer, maybe ?

Don't think there is a mystery there, it's just a table that was refurbished by 'Stelling Minnis' AKA 'Bar Billiards Kent' and latterly 'Ivor Champion' operating from the premises after BBK ceased trading. Ivor still has the house and work area of the original entrepreneur Mick Fisher.
I think that the table is a caveat emptor case. It looks a nice Narrow Sams, which may have been restored eight years (or more) ago but it looks a 'recently recovered' by some amateur to me. The loose pockets, probably some cheap old cloth and what looks like glue under the pockets (yuk) suggest that money may need to be spent on it. If the cloth has been glued then the job will be 'fun' ;D
Nice table but go and have a look or buy with eyes open!
Sav.

They have done a nice job of rubbing it down, but the table has lost that lovely glow that a good Sams has.
Multiple cracks?? no thank you, I have yet to see one 'Professionally Repaired" to my standards where there is only one crack, let alone multiples??
One to pass on is my advice.

One here from Gravesend, Kent: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180877176481Can't go much higher surely than the asking price of £400 ? No timer or even bar mechanism must warrant a mark down......although the 4-lane scoreboard is sought-after and worth around £80, hopefully will be included in the deal ! Went for £511 after 6 bids

The prospect on this one gets worse the more you scrape below the surface.
I agree, David, that looks like wood all round and no sign of a slate.
Also, the oaken top is a poor match for the mahogany frame.
And with no bar mechanism, the minuses outweigh the plusses: definitely one to steer clear of.

I think this is a narrow one from the dimensions given: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261046060831Location is Woodbridge, Suffolk which is definitely in 4-Pin country. Condition looks good - apart from being in a semi-dismantled state. And an attractive list of accessories. Should stay lower side of £500. Went for £415 after 14 bids.
