Classic pre-war Jelkes from Bucks: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110951741845#ht_500wt_1288Must count as a restoration project, in view of the damage to one leg. Also has had visitation by a mouse ! Reckon someone knowing what they're doing could pick this one up cheaply, and soon be showing off a fine table! ;) Buyer will need reassurance of an undamaged slate. Went for a fair £500 after 9 bids. Interesting auction this one, a bidder upped the ante by £200 in the last minute, but the winner had lodged a maximum bid of £500-plus at 8 o'clock this morning.

Also check picture 7 on the Jelkes from Virginia Water. You will have to scroll down to see this. The cloth has worn through in places therefore needing replacement.
Cheers. Nigel.

Busted leg with the old unrepairable thread and it has no clock either so I'm surprised someone is bidding £150 and this early

High quality Jelkes in perfect condition, beautiful oak, thru'penny bit legs: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221119758114#ht_500wt_12882 problems: the starting bid asked of £950, and the location of Scotland. Has a metal Bar-billiards Ltd label, suggests it has good provenance, probably full set of maintenance stickers inside. AEBBA may be pricking their ears up on this one, would have to sponsor a long journey to collect it, though. No takers, and vendor has put it straight back on at the same starting request of £950. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221122246917Obviously the same comments apply. No takers again. I think this clears the way for an All-England bid. :-/ I have the offer of this table at a reasonable price, but it means losing a day of my short holiday in the Lakes to collect it as it's a further 200 miles North!! I'm waiting for Dave Alder's return on Tuesday for AEBBA to make the decision. This would give a ninth Jelkes competition table. The displaced slate could be put in the table with the dodgy leg socket and sold. That would give a table that would be fine in residential use and one OK for the road until a tenth octagonal leg table can be found. Sav

My theory is one of those so-called 'professional repairers' has bought it for Spares and will be doing a mix 'n match. ;)

This one now back on offer........Vendor says "Relisted as let down by Buyer": cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251156973016#ht_500wt_1288Auction ended, no takers at starting bid of £450.

"Douglas Bader" Jelkes from Barnsley, not displayed to its best effect: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BAR-BILLIARDS-TABLE-/130785962627?A set of Jelkes legs were being sold by themselves a few months ago - I wonder if they were the ones off this ? :-/ This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.Withdrawn due to a private offer, probably around the £300 mark. :-/

Jelkes from Thame, Oxon, looks pretty damn near perfect to me: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bar-Billiard-Table-Vintage-Table-by-Ascot-/170928082924?AEBBA unlikely to go for this, though, as it has the round (pre-war) legs. Auction has ended, no-one was willing to make opening bid of £575 or meet the asking price of £995.Expect to see this one back on - would probably sell with a start price of £500 and reserve of, say, £700.

Shoddy looking Jelkes from Paignton, Devon - which could turn out to be a shrewd buy for someone: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bar-billiards-table-/140877868192Yes it looks moisture-damaged and needs a re-cloth especially with the damage in the D area. But the rest of it looks all there - nice oak, original backboard, four-lane scoreboard. The usual questions to be asked about condition of the slate, leg threads and timer. Went for just £311 after 9 bids. I reckon: "bargain" !

Another pre-war Jelkes, this time from Portishead, Nr Bristol www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bar-billiards-table-/281014760916Everything looks original, apart from that it appears to have been dark wood-stained at some time. Location is where there used to be a league (Avon) so could have seen some competitive play at some stage. Went for £415 after 16 bids. Another bargain buy. 8-)

Original Jelkes in lovely condition, location Guildford: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bar-billiard-table-/300854925853Legs are not "thruppeny-bit" as stated, these are the pre-war round ones. Might get a punter willing to meet the £900 asking price as these are becoming increasingly rare. This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available Ended early, 2.30pm this afternoon. No doubt a tempting private offer was made, often the way with something of this quality. :-/

This has the thru'penny bit legs, and I reckon the AEBBA will be taking an interest in this one! Not now I'm Treasurer!! got budgets, a clapped out van and table investors to think about! Half an hour after that one finished my league asked me to start searching for another as all our tables are now out, including our 'reserve' Sams for dodgy venues. Sav

Sav There still the Somerset one, with just 22 hours to go. Apart from that, the best I can offer is to look out for a fibreglass bathtub for you. :D yuk yuk.

No bids, I asked owner for additional photos and might have made an offer for a brilliant looking table, but the reply was 'Come and look at it if you have questions'. Not going to buy blind for £1k on one of Ken Hussey's final sales!! Sav.

Here's a real gem, a classic Jelkes that has made its way down from a Yorks pub to a container in Chinnor, Oxon: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Ascot-Bar-Billiard-Table-and-Accessories-/171022352496Has the (pre-war) round legs, otherwise AEBBA would be in for it like a shot ! Ended early with the following message: This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.Snapped up by a discerning buyer making a reasonable offer of around £800, no doubt. ;)

Not in the market for any more now Clive, finances need to recover enough to pay our creditors and start to consider another van. On the surface it looks a good one, but expect it to need new cushions ASAP. Sav
