I think I've been cured of wanting to see Wishbone for a while, Dave. I didn't enjoy the W Ash gig last night as the acoustics were terrible. This time about 500 people were crammed in. We arrived early enough to get a table, but were positioned too close to a speaker, so the sound was distorted. And why does it always have to be so friggin' loud ? Imagine listening to music which you have loved for 30 years played at full volume and more. >:( Margo had the right idea - how I envied her her earplugs ! ::) Martin Leach saw this on the other thread and said two good gigs out of three sounds about right. ;) Keith Buck will be a definite asset to Talon. Would prefer to see the real Eagles, though, while they're still going.

An excellent concert. He hasn't lost any of his craftmanship

Am off to the Queen Elizabeth Hall (South Bank) on the next train to see the mighty Van Der Graaf Generator. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) Well, they didn't disappoint. Started the set with opening track from their new album (Trisector), and followed it up with a 10-minute version of Scorched Earth. We had a "Union Chapel" version of Lemmings, a fantastic rendition of Over The Hill - again from the new album - and the climax was Man-Erg (a song about a schizophrenic) with a very pronounced battle between the two melodies with The Dark One winning through as ever with the gallumphing at the end descending into the depths. After a rapturous standing ovation, the encore was Childlike Faith In Childhood's End which ends with the fitting sentiment "With The Death Of Mere Humans, Life Will Start!" Frightening at times, yes, but absolutely awesome. 8-)

Two of my favourite bands are ELO & Queen. I went to see the Out of the Blue concert at Wembley in 1978, absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately i never managed to make a Queen concert, my brother has been to several, he`s an even bigger fan than me.
Anyway, last night i had the chance to see them both live, yes live !!! It was in the form of a tribute band called MAGIC. They specialise in doing both acts. I remember seeing them over twenty years ago, they were good then, and last night they were as good, if not better. My brother was gutted when i told him the date ( he is in Cornwall or Devon i think) as he has seen them perform as well. He also thinks they are brilliant.
So if you like these two bands, i suggest you try and see Magic. They are well worth the money ;)

Skinny Molly do the circuit up here, I think they appeared at the Boom-Boom (Sutton) recently. They are a Thin Lizzy tribute band.
I believe Led Zep Too are there tonight, and are supposed to be more faithful to the original sound than the rather watered-down version we get now.

Thursday evening I went to the Half Brick in Worthing to see the Hamsters. a three piece outfit who play three different sets, A Jimi Hendrix set, a ZZ Top set and a general set. An excellent evening and if you get a chance go and see them. They have just announced they are playing at the Komedia on the last Thursday in September where they will play all three sets. The Half Brick in fast becoming one of the premier small music venues in Sussex.

This is one song I like to listen to just click link > Space Cowboy - JamiroquaiAlso like to listen to this before a match to get in the "killer" mode ;D especially when it gets to 1:32 :D just click link > Army of Hardcore - NeophyteI seriously doubt anybody here wold like the second song :D However it is my opinion that matters :P ;) ;D

Steve Hillage is back with the band. ah; the cabbage man! ;D The rather splendid Robin Trower has been out and about again of late; touring every year at present and while the "British Hendrix" tag was somewhat unfair; what the guy could do with 6 strings and a spliff or two had to be heard. ;) :)

Just watched Meatloafs 2007 Three Bats Tour. What a voice and his backing musicians not bad either.
Now onto Glastonbury and watching the greatly talented Amy Winehouse who seems to be on top form.

On the whole I was disappointed by Glastonbury. The Verve did a good set, but Richard Ashcroft always somehow manages to depress me. Only group I really enjoyed was Goldfrapp (with a mysteriously adorned Alison accompanied by two pole dancers. ;D )

I enjoyed the Fratellis. Buddy Guy did an excellent set and Seasick Steve was his usual Hobo self.

Well of course there was Duffy, who is the genuine article.
And I quite enjoyed the Pigeon Detectives. Not a patch on last year, though, with Kaiser Chiefs, etc.

Kid Rock. Quality:
Apart from the scantily-clad women, there's a cracking guitar solo towards the end. 8-)
