Just a quick update to let everyone know the draw for The Specflue World Four Pin Championship will take place on Tuesday 3rd March at The White Horse Sudbury from 7-30 pm. Anyone is welcome to come along but we will try to make sure the draw is posted on here and Facebook by Wednesday evening and hopefully the programmes will be in the post by the following weekend.
If anyone is thinking of entering the blind pairs can you let us know so we have an idea of numbers. The bar at the Masonic will be open on the Friday so we can all get a head start for the bay horse piss up that follows after.
As always dont forget the stupid Sudbury Car Park rules, although parking is free in the car parks you still need to get a ticket from one of the machines and for those of you who are staying on the Friday night, dont park on the market hill or you will wake up Saturday morning to find your car surrounded by market stalls and a nice parking ticket attached to your windscreen

It was a pleasure to see Colin, although I think he needs more practice, as he was struggling to keep up with the drinking side of things at times
Colin did have the misfortune of partnering me in the doubles and I do believe he was somewhat happy that I refrained from going for too many 200 shots and we did have a comfortable victory.

All 64 places are now taken but we will start a reserve list as we all know peoples plans change and someone may be forced to drop out, so let us know if you want to be added.
Also don't forget the blind pairs on Friday night, we plan to start around 7-30 pm so it'll be handy if we have an idea of numbers before hand.
Most importantly please remember that we will again be supporting SARS and raising money for them during the weekend so any donations of raffle prizes etc will be gratefully received.

Deb and Dave Ritchie have been replaced by Pauline Withey and Keith Sheard, but with Kevin now being forced to withdraw there are still two places left. I am sure we could fill these with local players but it would be nice to give the "not so local" players a chance first.

Still one place left at the moment and a strong possibility of two more becoming available as Deb and Dave Ritchie are off on a cruise starting that weekend, so let us know if you're interested in entering

Hi all, I have just been advised that Gerry needs to delay the EGM slightly. A new date will be posted here very soon. Apologies for any inconvenience. Lorin As January draws to a close is there any news on when the accounts for the financial year that ended August last year will be available for all to see?

With only 8 places left for the tournament things are looking good and can I take this opportunity to thank everyone that has already entered.
Also can I please remind you that we also use our tournament and the day to raise money for charity and once again this year we will be supporting The Suffolk Accident Resue Service, SARS. Any donations of items we can use as raffle prizes will be gratefully received.
See you all in March

I know Nigel is snowed under with stuff and cant and shouldn't be expected to do everything is there anywhere where we can find an upto date-ish ranking list so we have any idea which of our players could enter? Maybe the committee would consider changing the entry restrictions to include anyone ranked 200 or below or anyplayer who has never entered a recognised 3 pin tournament as this may give some of our players the chance to enter even though they have picked up ranking points from the four pin opens they have entered. From memory the only four pinners I can think of who've entered 3 pin comps are Jeremy, Steve and myself, having said all that as per normal it may be hard for us to convince other players that travelling up to York to play 3 pin is a good idea.
How many tables do you normally have? Maybe Jeremy could arrange to send a few narrow tables up so you could hold a four pin on the Saturday.

Just wondered if there is any news on next years AEBBA Challenger Championships apart from the date? This may possibly be an event that might get some of our four pin players interested in having a bash at 3 pin. Suffolk BBA have their AGM in a couple of weeks and it would be great of we could give out some info, i.e approx start amd finish times, entry fee, any prize money of any and entry criteria as I know last year it was for players outside the top 250 and that ruled a number of our players out
Thanks in anticipation of a helpful reply

When does your financial year end? It does seem strange to us that the date for the agm is set basically a year in advance but come the day of the agm no accounts are available. .,

Will the emg meeting still be taking place this Sunday or before??? I would really like to have sight of the accounts and the minutes of the last AGM before I can make any recommendations to the suffolk contingent as to our way forward.

Just a quick update on our rules.
We were all aware that not having the break back in single leg games was seen as unfair. Those of you who attended the 4x4 will know we amended our rules to say
In single leg games only, once the first players first break has finished the second player has the option to have the balls returned and start off from a break shot or they can, if they wish just continue playing from where the ball(s) are.
We believe this worked well and will be adopting this rule for the open in March.

So there is good news and not so good news depending on how you look it. Casey Parker has confirmed that once again he wil be entering and he has said that if enough people pledge to chuck 50p in the charity pot he will once again compete while wearing a dress. If we dont agree gawd knows what he'll turn up wearing or indeed not wearing
